  • Have you heard me say this before?

    I am back...

    Folks, I have been floundering around out here for several months. Loitering and watching and waffling on the WOE.

    I know what I have been doing wrong, but I am not doing it anymore! I also know that it is mandatory for me to check in with you folks EVERY SINGLE DAY.

    Today is my first day of induction - again. You know what, though, I am so used to this way of life, that I know I can do it. I obtained my goal weight once before and I can do it again. My feelings are only positive and optimistic.

    I miss you folks. You have been there for me for years and I thank you for being right here for me now!

    149.8/no weigh/ 119



    1st goal: 139 (earlier weight)
    what the rungs mean to me:
    rung 1 - more veggies
    rung 2 - dairy (some milk in coffee)
    rung 3 - seeds, nuts (mostly sprinkled on salads)
    rung 4 - berries, melon
    rung 5 - wine -
    rung 6 - beans, hummus
    rung 7 - other fruits
    rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
    rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)
    Major Goal - 128 lbs/ healthy range
    (on to pre-maintenance)

        Sharon, welcome to the board! You got it girl, check in every day! I restarted induction 3 weeks ago, already back on level 1, and I feel so moronic to have slipped up, but your making the right decision. There is a post here by Outback Jess about momentum, check it out, it takes a bit to get that momentum rolling, but once you do, you don't want to stop! Welcome to our happy little cozy nook in the world!

          Thanks everyone - it is so good to be back around and to see all the new "faces". Wonderful!

          I have a question about eggs! Does anyone have a firm answer on how many carbs are in them? Fitday seems to be telling me that there ARE carbs in eggs...

                Welcome back Shannon! Joy was right about the .6, I like to just round them up to 1 an egg. Good luck on your restart!

                  Thanks everyone for responding. 1 carb per egg. I can handle that...

                  So far so good, Day Two Induction. I don't know why I feel so vulnerable this time. It has been three years since I originally lost the weight on this WOE. I gained it all back and more, but I feel like I have been doing Atkins (albeit incorrectly) for the past three years. So, this time is different. I printed my pocket paper of indcution rules. I am ready to go.

                  Lots of water - got it. They are all lined up on my desk.

                  I can do this - right this time!!

                    Hi SHannon! Congratulations for keeping up with your life change. We all go off the beaten path now and then, but it's an easy enough path to find again. I always love getting back into Induction. Yeah, it sucks that you're starting all over, but it's also exciting to get motivated again. Have fun, stay with us!

                      Thank you!! Day Three for me! I am feeling great. Today is the day that I typically get into ketosis and also the day that the headache starts. That is okay with me, though, because I know that by tomorrow afternoon, I will feel GREAT!

                      Also, I don't want to say it out loud because I know that i am NOT suppossed to be weighing - but <whispers> two pounds are already gone!!

                        Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

                          Day Five for me!! I am very excited because I am in ketosis and things are going very well. I have left induction flu behind. I typically get a pretty bad headache that lasts about a full 24 hours. Ugh.

                          I have kicked up the exercise a bit and just feel fabulous. i think that this time I am going to do everything to make sure that I do not have just a "little cheat". i will NOT do that.

                          Fit day is wonderful, by the way...

                            One other thing. Someone on this board once told me that I am in control of everything that goes into my mouth. That is SOOOO true.
