  • Thursday...

Ah yes, my favorite day of the work week, next to Friday of course! Hope everybody has their plan for the day! Oh yes, quick side note....

I've noticed alot of posts about 'SCALES' that and squash, but we won't talk about that (squash). Anyway, how can we get through to these new folks that they don't need to weigh 2 - 3 times a day? Just wondering what everybody thought about that.

    Remember....squash.....shhhhhh.

I have a day off tomorrow! Lots of activity planned, we bought a new sectional sofa, it's so comfy.....but now we need to paint the family room, so.....a day off from work to paint and clean....supposed to be in the 50's tomorrow too. So, today I have all my little zip lock baggies with homemade meatloaf, salad, aparagus, cheese, hard boiled eggs, my day is set with a great big thumbs up!!!

(Please notice the absence of SQUASH. I did however have zucchini, onions and tomato last night.....awesome!!!)

Sorry to keep mentioning squash folks. Inside joke.

I shan't mention it again. Right. SQUASH.

I can't help it, it's like that lion king movie, Muphasa....say it again...SQUASH.....

It's the little things in life that make us laugh and keep us young and happy!

Good day to everyone!! Life is good! Remember that!

Oh yes....I've had a lot of people ask lately about my pictures, I posted a picture of beginning.....and 25 down, and another 25 down, so not to break with my own tradition, in 8 more pounds I will start posting my picture again I promise. Wow....8 more pounds will mean a total of 75.....3/4 of the way to goal! LIFE IS GREAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!

Scooter you are thriving today, bursting with energy that comes with Ketosis...
I know people are way into their scales...But you know what, and I say it all the time, it's the one part we cannot control....YOU KNOW, W-H-E-N our bodies give up the weight!
We can control our relationship with foods, food choices, how much water we drink, what suppliments we take, the exercise we endure and how hard we do it....THAT's OUR PART, our bodies control how they process the food, exercise and water and WHEN it will shed the pounds....
Once i got that, i started to relax a great deal. I am one of those who likes to "help things along" and tends to go over board...But once I realized I was doing all I could, I just settled into that and let other things take my focus...
If I don't establish a lifestyle and if I make it all about MOMENTARY WEIGHT LOSS, I will not sustain what I loose... I can have short term numbers or create long term habits....
So, that's what I think after 7 months on this journey....it's my set of core views...and I just live by em.

      Hey Scooter, Got SQUASH??????????

You know that zucchini is a squash, right? But it's not a starchy winter squash, so it's an induction/rung 1 acceptable veggie. Sooooooooo....yeah you do GOT SQUASH!

      ahahaahahah

Anyway, I'm with you on the scale frustrations....yikes.

Today, I've had 50 ounces of water so far, 2 fried eggs for breakfast. I stopped at the store looking for some jicama but haven't found any....I shall keep looking.

I'm thinking about finally going to the jewelers and dropping off my wedding rings to be sized. My DH is getting upset that I'm wearing them on my index finger

          Re: Thursday...

I've never had a full-fledged addiction to the scale...I came close back in December when it wasn't moving but I kicked the habit by not weighing for a month. Now my FEAR of the scale has returned. I don't like weighing because it's all such a game. I know if I'm getting smaller or not, and usually it's almost better just to flip a coin to see if I've lost anything. Just kidding. It's good for me to weigh each week to see how much I'm losing because I'm trying to up my carbs. For the last 2 weeks I've lost 2lb. each week eating 50g carbs. But that doesn't mean that'll happen forever, right?

So I think today will be a good day. I've got a great lunch packed, with some acorn SQUASH, ironically. Sorry Scooter.

After school I'll be doing a 5k. Not trying for a PB, just going for it.

          Have a great day, all!

            Re: Thursday...

Hey, did somebody mention SQUASH? Well, I LUUUUV me some SQUASH!

Scooter--you are such a breath of fresh air around these parts. For someone like me who has been among the half dead for the last three days, I enjoyed coming on and reading your posts!

Well, it seems I've finally SQUASHED my salmonella poisoning. Although I'm a bit uncoordinated and weak with extremely stiff muscles and I'm simply exhausted. Praise the Lord, this morning, I found two leftover Vicodin that I had from practically cutting off my finger several months ago, so I popped one of them and I am feeling no pain right now. The headache and abdominal pain has been virtually constant for almost 24 hours and I've finally got some relief. What a freak show I've been over the last couple days! All I have eaten is 3 Ritz crackers and a few sips of tomato soup. I just checked the scales and I'm almost down to 180 lbs! So I lost about 4-5 lbs in the last 2 days from this sickness. I won't officially count it as pounds lost quite yet--I'll give it a few days to even out.

So back to reality now....I'll be off plan today and hopefully back on tomorrow. The thought of eating any sort of meat or cheesy, greasy thing is enough to send me over the edge into barfy territory again. I was able to eat some toast with butter and sugar free jelly this morning but nothing else. I do need some vegetables so I'll try to eat a salad today. I have some Jicama, maybe that will do me some good.

So that's all thats happening around these here parts. I have hardly read anything on the boards, so the whole squash thing is a bit confusing to me, but I'll catch up soon enough. Right now I think I'll go take a hot bath and just enjoy not being sick!

            Y'all be good now, y'hear?

              Re: Thursday...

Julie - That was just so wrong on so many levels!!!! hahaha...I about fell out of my chair laughing...and by the way, good luck on the 5K, good for you! Tell us more later.

Felicia - Thank you so much! I'm so glad that you've 'squashed' the illness! I'm glad you're ready to jump back on board with us!

Joy - As always I love your posts....your hands are getting skinny too huh! There have been times this winter that I thought I was going to lose my rings because my hands were so cold. You know what else, I won't swear to it, but I tell you its seems my guitar (accuracy) playing has improved over the past year because my hands aren't constantly tripping around...go figure...could be in my head...

Jess - I know, man, this morning I got to work 6:45 am, had a little breakfast, not much, and then I started checking threads here, and there, and by 8:00 I felt like I had 3 cups of coffee, my head was tingling, my adrenaline pumping, it honestly felt like I was all caffiened up, but wasn't! I love this feeling.

Speedyturtle - I love your name. Especially hit me when you said you can't rush these things.....nice one! Just stay away from the scales , they'll move, you can do it!

It's lunchtime right now and I'm having my nice little salad and asparagus (which I'm starting to develop a fondness for....I never liked it as a kid, I'm really digging it now) some homemade meatloaf....eating like a king.....love it! Thought I'd spend my lunch hour poking around in here...I'm always finding new stuff that is very helpful.

Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful day, I'll check in on things this evening. I'm really busy at work, but I am making it part of my day to come here and talk, and hopefully help others....you guys are all the best!

              Have a great one!

                Re: Thursday...

What a fun group. Well, I had quite a revelation this morning. I started my day with some strawberries and yogurt. Yum, felt great until about an hour or so later.......SOOOO HUNGRY. Wondering what was going on it hit me.....I had no protien with my morning meal. I just now ate a hamburger patty and feel much better I won't make that mistake again but can't think of a protien that goes well with berries and yogurt.

Scale isn't moving....yikes. I was 131 just that one day and back to 132. TOM in one week so I won't see the scal move for at least two probably three.

Fun stuff....I'm going on a cruise Memotial Day weekend for my birthday. WAHOO DH and I should be on maintenance or pre-maintenance by then (I hope) but I'm starting to think about how I want to eat on the ship. I've cruised before and never gorged before just ate when hungry and until full BUT the food on board is so decadent. What a horrible struggle, I know.

Hey, I hope they have squash.......lol

Make it a great one everyone!!!
