    'Today's Goals In Focus'

    Top o' the morning my wonderful STACer's!!! Happy day before ST. Patricks day...if you're not wearing Green.....'pinch'! haha (isn't that how it used to be, I'm not sure if they do that anymore, I'm showing my age again!)

    So, here we are, coming up on a weekend that some people do a lot of partying and such. Well....I just wanted to remind you all to keep your goals in focus. It can be tempting when hanging around your non-low-carb friends to give into temptation. This little taste won't hurt me, I can re-start on Monday. Next thing you know, every Monday is a Re-Start, and everytime it will be that much harder. Trust me, been there, done that! I didn't like it, and it made me feel way blah blah....and guilty for lettting myself down.

    Now, I get up, I do my exercises! I'm going out to start running this weekend, (side note - when I went to sign up for the 5K....it was sold out ), I could have said, oh well, I'll do it next year, but....I was so impressed that you ladies (Joy, Jess, Julie etc.....) are out there running all the time, that it is my goal to run a 5K without the pomp and circumstance and glory....in my own little neighborhood. We're going out tonight and driving the route I'm going to take. And I will do it. As I said, I never liked to run, but I suppose there is a reason, I was in good shape in the military. So..............here goes nothing!!

    I hope everybody has a wonderful weekend, just keep the Big Picture in perspective and remain steadfast in your need to succeed. Just keep saying to yourself that motto, I CAN DO THIS. I WILL MAKE IT HAPPEN.

    Oh yes, while everybody else is drinking green beer (something about that is still just so wrong) sip your club soda in a martini glass, with a green olive!! Shaken, not stirred. LOL!

    Good morning all!! I thought it was a pinch if you didn't wear green ON St. patty's day?! LOL No partying for me this weekend--Not worth it all all! Too many crazies out there anyway, I don't really feel safe driving around lol My week 1 is almost over with and I feel really great! I am a person who will weigh themselves about 10 times a day and I have even curbed that down to 2x, which is a BIG thing for me!

    I'm off to work for the day! Hope everyone has a great day!!

      Morning !! *looking in closet for something green* at least wearing it on the inside, hehe VEGIES. Yesterday when the office girls went out to lunch, I went with and had taco salad no beans and no pretty shell thing. It was GREAT and fun to join in. WOW Scooter your own 5K maybe someday I ......nah nevermind LMAO. Not a runner maybe a cycle 5K.
      Appreciate your post this morning. Morning Coffee still 1/2 and 1/2 did not have any diet cokes or any other caffeine yesterday (feel kind of bad, headache, sleeplessness, cranky) but that should pass soon enough. Gonna be a GREAT FRIDAY cya later

        Hey all! Scooter, I think you're a day early on the pinch. Either way, I look like very anti-Irish today as I'm wearing orange pants. But I'm wearing green from head-to-toe tomorrow to celebrate my Irish heritage! I do plan on going out tomorrow night, but I'm limiting myself to 3 drinks. Even that will probably be 2 more than I will actually have! I'll stick to nice Irish whisky and soda.

        Scooter, you should check out gmaps pedometer. You can find your city and get EXACT distances for the route you want to run, as well as a "calories burned" feature...and you can save your maps. Here is the link:

        Today I'm totally happy...I stumbled onto the scale half-asleep (I actually changed my weigh-in day to Saturday, but keep forgetting, and when I'm sleepy I still think I'm supposed to weigh in on Fridays) and AGAIN I thought the scale was broken...I'm so NOT used to seeing a "1" in the beginning of my weight. Anyway, I'm down 2 pounds!

            War--that's probably the induction flu. It will pass if you stick to the plan.

            I'm not a beer drinker, so that holds no temptation for me. I don't care for corned beef, but I think I'm going to make some kind of other beef and cabbage just because it is St. Patty's day and I love green cabbage

            Instead of going by Joy tomorrow, I'm going to show my little bit of irish heritage and go by Colleen.

              Goooood Morning!!!

              Well, I haven't exercised in a week due to a concrete head full of snot and peeling, chapped lips from being a mouth-breather while my nose was stopped up (pretty sight, huh?). But, when I woke up this morning, I could BREATHE! Whoo-hoo!! So, I am putting on my trusty walking shoes and will be hitting the pavement in just a moment. Just had to stop in and wish all of you the greatest
              Friday ever.

              And Julie... huge congrats on your continued weight loss. You've definitely got this down, don't you? Thanks for sharing your journey.

                Hello all my stacers, just checking in. Well this is my 3rd day on induction and so far im hanging on in there, i feel as though my cravings are about out of my system, i knew once i got a few days behind me i would be good to go, it was just getting past that first day. Well not to much going on with me this weekend, it is my hubbys weekend to work, so just going to hang around the house tomorrow, but tonight going out with a girlfriend of mine for her birthday, to dinner and taking all the kids lol including my month old niece who i promised my sister i would keep her tonight so she can get some sleep, even though she lives with me, im going to keep the baby in my room, she deserves to get some rest. And then sunday going back to that little church, so thats pretty much it for my weekend. I hope you all have a blessed and safe holiday weekend and i will check in with you all later.

                  Hi Everyone! Day 5 here and going strong and really happy that I started Atkins and found ADBB! I am a little bummed this morning because I am about to be snowed in! They are calling for 10-20 inches by tomorrow and being that I am in the mountains I expect to be able to get out by next weekend! Have a Happy Friday Everybody!

                      Glad to see everyone this morning!

                      We are off to the beach tonight to meet up with some friends. I have my soda water and limes packed and ready to go while everyone else is making cocktails! This might be nice anyhow- I can get up before all of them (minus the hangover) and go for a walk on the beach. As for St. Patty's, yikes! Plans to go out for drinks... now that the scale moved this morning though, I have a renewed sense of willpower. YAY WILLPOWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                          Hey all,

                          I'm a newbie to the board and a second timer to Atkins. It's been a few years since I have done the Atkins diet but discovered that I was tired of running out of clothes in my closet that don't fit me anymore. Last weekend as I went shopping, I realized that I definitely needed to bump up a full size in clothing to 16 (and honestly some of these clothes were fitting snug). Then I recalled that not too long ago I had to bump up to a 14 (most of these clothes don't fit me anymore). Where does the insanity end! In the Kohl's dressing room, amongst a sea of shapless sized 16 garments I looked at myself in the mirror and just said "that's it". I left without buying much of anything, came home and told my husband I was done - Where's the Atkin's book?

                          Snow here in New England, that means no school for kids (and teachers). Usually these kind of days are HUGE munchie days, so I was a bit worried about how'd I feel being only on day 4 and all. Yikes! But good news, no problem - I'm totally committed this go around and I exercised this morning doing 40 minutes of a cardio with some great On Demand exercise TV programs. I was sweating inside as the snow is piling up outside. After exercising, I found I wasn't very hungry. I'm staying focused and using my stubborness qualities to my advantage here. Once I'm committed, I'm committed. Good luck to everyone and Happy ST Paddy's Day weekend.!
