    Good Morning my fellow STACer's,

    Scooter here with you!! What a great night I had. I just love it when Cheeseburger In Paradise opens the outside garage doors and lights the Tiki torches. I love playing music there. It's always a fun atmosphere. Last night was really good. I had some friends I haven't seen since last summer, the first thing they said.........."Scooter, dude what happened, your getting skinny"

    I love them! Friends are great aren't they.

    I got up this morning and haven't measured for awhile (yesssss 1 more inch!). I pulled out those size 38 jeans, almost there.............they weren't uncomfortable, but they weren't just right yet....I say........... 1 more month. May 1st. That will my next attempt. I talk about 'Patience' all the time, let's see if I can put my money where my mouth is so to speak!

    Thank you to everybody who signed Outback Jess's 'thinking of you post' yesterday. I knew you guys would rally for her! She's the greatest, ain't she?

    Remember your goals today! Goals are definately important on this plan. Write them down. Don't just keep them in your head. Something magical happens when you write a goal down and see it every day. I have my list of goals taped next to my ugly 295 'before' picture on the bathroom mirror and on front of the refrigerator. I'm telling you that really helps. For example....I came home last night about 11:30pm and I was kind of hungry I opened the fridge door, took out the package of sliced cheese...as I was looking at the package, I looked at that picture, then at the cheese, and the 'inner voice' said, do you really need that? Probably a good thing everybody else in the house went to bed, because I answered out loud...'No, you don't need that'. I used to come home from gigs and stuff myself, now I come home and sitdown at the computer and wind down that way. Reading everybodies posts throughout the day. So, that being said, please write down your goals, it doesn't even have to be a WOE goal, it could be as simple as, DO SOMETHING NICE FOR SOMEONE, DO SOMETHING NICE FOR MY CHILDREN, CALL A FREIND, short term goals are just as import as long term goals. But unless you do more than just visualize it in your head it's just a thought of something you need to accomplish.

    And tell me, is there anything better than crossing something off a list! (okay losing inches and losing pounds far outweighs that ....haha....) but....it's a great accomplishment to cross something off a list and be able to say, been there, done that, bring it on, what's next!!! A young lady mentioned in her post the other day that it was easy for me to remain positive because I am still losing (she was having a bad day) and she wasn't and she was thinking about coming off the plan...I tried to make her understand...what's the rush? You have the rest of your life, this is a 'LIFETIME' committment. We can't keep yo-yo'g all the time, it's to terribly hard on our bodies to live that way.
    Do you really want to live that way, or die that way, we have let food rule our way of life, it amazes me at the store how almost everything you pick up has sugar in it. One way or another, corn syrup, corn syrup solids, sugar, I've been living without it now, and I love the way this feels. Listen folks, I have bad days just like the next person, but I'm trying really hard not to focus on that, I'm trying to stay as strong as I can to help not only myself but my friends here. I know this is hard, but together we can accomplish our goals!!

    Have a wonderful day, I hear the thunder outside again, looks like rain in Indiana again, but at least I had an awesome night....I am trying to remain steadfast in the lesson, THE GLASS IS ALWAYS HALF FULL, AND NOT HALF EMPTY.

    Expectations! Goals! Positive Attitude! A Willingness To Want To Succeed! We all have that inside us! YOU CAN DO THIS, YOU WANT TO SUCCEED!
    Go out there in the world today and be good to yourselves and others!! Words to live by!

        Hi everyone! Checking in!

        Great post Scooter, and you're doing so well. Glad you had a good time last night. I'm all for "things to do" lists, and love crossing them off. And notes posted all over, yep! I do that. LOL I keep notes to remind myself and my pictures in the refrigerator door, in that useless built-in butter keeper. It's my file of reminders of why I am doing this Atkins for life and to keep going. And darn, photos keep very well in there.

            Woohoo Scoot! Glad you had a good nite and congrats on your victory with the cheese and with the pants as well. I myself try to make mini goals and it really helps. Trying to get to something thats far out of reach is discouraging at times. Its important to make goals that you can keep sight of.

              Good morning Everyone. I'm going to *attempt* to be like Jess and Scooter here and convey something important....

              The only way to be successful on this plan (IMO) is to make it a lifestyle. When it truly becomes a lifestyle it doesn't matter (as much) about what the scale says. Trust me, I know it can get disappointing when the only movement on the scale is in the WRONG direction...but if this is a lifestyle in our minds then we can change our thinking to all the other things that are positive about the WOE besides what the scale says.

              I can think about all the weight I have lost, I can think about how good I feel. I can think about how healthy I am, I can think about all the other things I've lost like heartburn and leg pain and neck pain etc. I can think about all the people that I help on THEIR journey...BEING here on plan as a model for someone else.

              This is soooo important you guys. EVERYONE needs to think about what you are going to say to yourself, how are you going to behave when the scale (nor the tape measure) doesn't cooperate? Some day your weight loss is going to slow/stop. It might be at goal, it might be long before goal. How will you talk to yourself? How will you cope? What actions will you take?

                Good Morning!

                Just sitting here reading some posts as I down some water before I go out and exercise this morning... let's see... will it be riding my bike or walking? Hmmm... I rode my bike a little over 8 miles yesterday... maybe I will pound the pavement with some walking today. (like to mix it up)

                  I agree with Joy! I think it's really becoming just plain old "life" for me, rather than a conscious effort. I don't daydream about carbs, I just look forward to good, healthy meals. I had forgotten today that I'm supposed to weigh-in tomorrow--not that it's not important, it's just that it's not the focal point anymore. I feel good, I'm getting healthier, and I feel like I can finally relax and listen to my body. It's becoming like second nature to me, and I am getting the knack for planning out meals or snacks that are balanced and within my carb limit.

                  So today is a good day. These size 14 pants are so baggy that I don't even know if I should have worn them...I might be showing more than I want to. Have a great one, STACers!

                    Nice post. I know if past performance is indicative of future results, in all probablility ... I'll stall around 250-240.


                    I'll just try to remember and perservere and if I bail, I'll try to make it quick bail and get back on task because 240 is way better than 290.

                      Scale was disappointing today. I've got to STOP obsessing about it and more than that, stop doing it daily! Tomorrow I pledge that I WILL NOT get on the scale and that on Sunday (my week 1 mark), I'll re-measure. Will record my results then.

                          Joy, Thanks for the wonderful post. This is so good to know in advance. In the past 25 years, I have never made it to my goal weight, no matter what plan I was on. And now that I know Atkins is my way of life, I will remember what you said here and start thinking about it now. By the time I reach that point, I will know how to cope with it, and what action I will take--at least I will be aware of it now.

                            I watched Sillygirl and iyamamaschke and some of the other goalies and learned from them. I remember being in challenges with them and all of us were losing and they were not. I remember admiring their strength and determination for sticking with it. I think I was in like 3 challenges with Sillygirl while she was stalled through ALL OF THEM. I admired her sooo much and it got me thinking about how I would react. It really really helped me cope when it did happen to me.

                            I have been 188 for the last two days. I'm hoping it will stick so I can write it down on Tuesday LOL 3 lbs to goal.....
