  • Back on induction and frustrated with myself

I'd post this in the Induction forum, but I think this is more of a second-timer (multi-timer? ) problem. I've lost a lot of weight in the past before I fell off the wagon- I began losing at 182. I'm having so much trouble you'd think I was new to this.

I started Induction last Wednesday (3/21) but messed up yesterday. I foolishly did not make my lunch the night before so I had to go to a lunch bar. I had some salad however 2 of the meats I got had sauces on them and I tried really hard to scrape it all off but some of it was there to stay. Last night, I also overate (all meats/fats, but still!). So, I feel like I cheated on my induction and am starting it over again.

I'll try hard to make my lunches the night before (or several nights before and freeze my food)...but what do you all do when you have a day like that? Is it better to stack up on salad and just skip meats that might possibly have sauce/seasoning on it? That's probably what I should have done.

I should be losing a few pounds being on Induction, but I only lost 1 pound so far. Pushing myself for a very STRICT, clean induction.

you are only looking for 10lb goal. that's not too much and you've lost one pound. That's fine, really. i wouldn't sweat it.. stick to the diet and the weight will come off.

it also goes in spurts, you might gain a pound or two in a day only to loose 3 by the end of the week. 2 steps back.. 3 forward..

Try to not get discouraged. Mistakes happen and ultimately, according the book I have (DANDR 199 we're all tuning a diet to meet our individual needs.

What does this mean ? You might just be the type that can get by with some sauce on your meats, who knows. Induction is to see how your body reacts without certain things and then the OWL rungs allow you to monitor your reaction to foods as you slowly and methodically increase amounts of some foods and then reintroduce others back into your system.

So keep tuning it in accordance with the induction thing and try not get frustrated. I know I have and I know I've been fighting the "I haven't done it perfect, therefore I should splurge and get on it ... whenever". It's that mentality that got me obese.

No, if I fall off, I'll keep getting back on. Start a ITAC (Infinite time around club) if you will. I'm one.

      Good luck.

Thanks Grove. Ten pounds is more my short term goal, I am aiming for at least 20 from my current weight...but you're right it will take some time. I'll feel better being more diligent with my pre-made foods...will work on that.

Thank you WarOnTypeII. I know exactly what you mean about the "I messed up so I'll eat whatever I want" mentality...that's what's kept me off the wagon for several months. Even though I didn't do it perfect yesterday, I've started back up today so I can resume ketosis ASAP.

I am definitely an ITAC member...I hope this will be the last time I stray off the path to my goals!
