  • No appetite, any suggestions...

    Hi all,

I have been experiencing a lack of appetite these past two days, and as we are supposed to eat a minimum of every six hours, I am wondering if anyone has experienced this, or have heard of it, and what can be done to kick start ones appetite again. I am on day 11 of Induction.

    Hi Sherry,
that's totally normal and one of the added benefits of ketosis...a deep appetite suppression.

Try to up your carbs by choosing higher carb value vegetables like maybe brussel sprouts or jicama or the like. That will lessen the ketosis a bit.

Also use this time while your appetite is suppressed to learn how to only eat to feed your hunger. Just make sure you do eat a little something at least every 6 hours. A boiled egg is a good snack.

I have been having the same problem lately.

I agree about keeping low carb snacks...
Some easy quick meals for me when I don't feel like eating or cooking...
      Celery n Cream Cheese
I keep a dozen hardboiled eggs in the fridge...I eat half and the kids eat half. Its great for an on the go meal for me.
      Cheddar slices
      Beef Sticks
Cook extra boneless Chicken breast or if you have steak...slice it up and put them in baggies for a quick and easy snack.

Combine salad veggies...my fave is Cucumber, tomato and cheddar tossed with 0 carb mayo or red wine vinegar and oil.

Just some ideas...its definately important to eat something. Try to eat little meals every 3-4 hours instead of doing the normal Breakfast, lunch and dinner. That you will keep your body fueled and burning.

      Hugs, Mel
