  • Tuesday - Roll Call

    Good Morning my fellow STACer's,

Well last night I feeling saucy. Grabbed the ol' ipod loaded with Dave Matthews tunes, and put on my running shoes and hit the pavement.

Julie, Joy and Jesse (the lovingly the JJJ's) my hat is off to you guys. How the heck to you run 5, 6 and 8 miles!!! Man, I was barely able to get in 1 mile last night. I walked/run a total of like 2 miles. I do however feel a bit more alert this morning and not as hungry as usual. Anyway, through my babbling, I do have a point. I've joined a couple of challenges because I want to make exercise a more important part of my master plan. I'm very happy with the weight I've lost, now I want to reach and surpass my original goal. So...henceforth the running.

I was kind of poking around here last night and found this thread that I thought may be of some interest on the subject...

    http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ad.php?t=42578

This girl came to kick butt and chew bubblegum, and it appears that they were all out of bubblegum. I am amazed at the difference in just 6 weeks.
Be sure to check it out!!

So. That being said my wonderful STACer friends, tonight, maybe just going to push myself a little bit more, still have my 2 mile run/walk but try to get that much further running tonight. I hope you all have a great day!

Make your choices wisely, keep your eye on the ball, and remember

FOCUS! GOALS! MOTIVATION! DETERMINATION! WE CAN DO THIS! WE WANT TO DO THIS!!

    Have a great day friends!

    Good Morning, Scooter!

Thanks for the morning pep talk. And yes I, too, need to step up the exercise. I find it especially hard to get it in on the days that I have to work (like this morning!) Thankfully I only work 3 to 4 days a week.

Onward and downward! (pounds, that is)

    Have a great day, All!

I'm here. Depressed and angry, but I'm here. I had lost 8.5lbs as of last week and had hoped to lose at least 10lbs during induction, and now today, the end of the first two weeks, I have lost 6.5lbs. I managed to gain back 2lbs. I drink a ton and according to fitday my calories are about half what I need for my weight. I've been riding my bike. My dh has lost 17lbs in 17days! Last time we did this, we lost at the same rate, percentagewise, but this time it's like I wasn't even trying. But I was and I haven't cheated at all. I really just want to cry and I might. Now I have to change my ticker back. Wahhhhh!

          Hey Sheepie,

That's still 6.5 pounds less than two weeks ago and that ain't nothing shabby. Give the two pound bounce a day or two and see if it doesn't straighten itself out. Not to be indelicate but there's no easy way around this one... One good trip to the little programmer's room can make that much difference if you know what I mean. Stay with it and cheer up. As long as you're still trying you can not fail.

                      Re: Tuesday - Roll Call

lol @ a couple of chickens. Y'all are great!

I haven't posted much in the past week, but I've been here reading some. It's been a tough week. Technically I've declared myself at the veggie rung, but I haven't been doing well. I'm not getting all my veggies in and I have had some snacks I shouldn't have.. still low carb, but I'm not at the rung yet. I'm going to try to go back to strict induction and see if I can get back on track. I'm not having cravings, but I still feel like I'm doing wrong. I did have 1 true cheat too. I was eating on the run and got a burger and fries. I ate some of the fries and took off the top bun (still tried to do somewhat good.) It didn't knock me off track so that's good. On the upside, my BG readings have been awesome!

A week ago I fell and broke/bruised/somehow injured my tailbone. I've been in a LOT of pain so I haven't been able to exercise. I'm starting to feel a little better. Yesterday I went for a walk which felt good. I've actually missed it! It still hurts to sit for too long and in certain ways so I can't do the weight machines yet, but I'm going to start walking again. Especially after reading the post that Scooter linked to!! omg.. that's incredible! I remember when I started Atkins the first time in 2003. Brook weighed the same amount I did, but she was several sizes smaller because of exercise. That proved to me how effective it was. I actually enjoy working out.. it's just getting started that's hard. lol Today I'm going to try to make it to the gym to walk on the treadmill, but if I don't I'll just go for a walk later.

I pledge to only eat induction foods today, get my gallon of water in, and walk.

Way to go Scooter on the running, it's grueling in the beginning, but then it takes a life of it own, ON and you can easily get addicted by week 2 or 3...start slow, and walk and jog off and on, and slowly you sustain a cadence and go farther and farther and feel better and better!

Checking in on this rainy Tuesday. As always, thanks Scooter. I can't say it enough...you're an inspiration!

I've been doing well with my exercise and bigger than that...I HAVEN'T WEIGHED MYSELF IN 3 DAYS. So I'm (hopefully) breaking that horrendous habit. I know I've lost inches, but haven't taken the time to measure. Will do that tonight.

Hang in everyone. We can and will do this together to feel healthier AND happier. Atkins is awesome!

Way to go on running, scooter. It does get easier, but you've gotta work your way up. I was running 2 mile last summer - this spring, I ran 1/2 a block, was winded, but walked a block, then went to run the full next block, and almost blacked out by the stop sign! I was breathing like a hiena, I'm glad no one was in ear-shot! So yeah, it reminded me to pace myself, and work my way up.

I went home last night, and totally didn't feel like exercise, but I walked anyway. I think that you should immediately be rewarded for exercise by losing 2.5 pounds! But noooooo the scale didn't budge this am. Boooo hooooooo. I just had to remind myself that I've lost 6 pounds since last Thursday, and that is an accomplishment. Maybe I'll have a wooshie tomorrow.
