  • Wednesday - Roll Call

    Good Morning STACer's,

    Well we're getting close to Easter. I'm sure some of us have been tempted to bite the heads off some of those yucky chocolate bunnies, DON'T DO IT! Step away from the bunny, put the bunny down and step back!! LOL.

    Anyway, I had a special treat last night, my wife made white chili last night, I was kind of bummed, then she said SURPRISE I put the pasta on the side, and I didn't use chicken broth, water, cream and salt and pepper....chicken breast, onion, celery............it was really sweet of her to do that...what a wonderful woman (everyone else in my house eats carbs...skinny carbaholics...I don't get it....)

    So, here I am today, already at work, have my bowl of white chili, some Jicama slices, couple eggs, spinach salad (can't eat enough of spinach any more) and plenty of water. Good ol' Walmart, 74 ounce water jugs are the best. Tonight is gig night ...again. Just a little under the weather, hoping the extra water will help. It's all good though. The weather in Indiana just went from 70's to 30's, gotta figure some nasty little buggies are floating around everywhere.....

    Everybody have a wonderful day, I appreciate all the thumbs up and compliments about adding motivation here. I feel very proud to be an active member of this STAC forum, and I tell everybody that it is definately a group effort when they ask!!

      I'm here. I couldn't resist weighing myself before bed and I think it might be good this morning. I'll let you know after my shower.

      Speaking of Easter candy, I went to the "mart" last night to buy candy for dd's school party (why do I do that? Buy sugar for innocent kids?) and I was not tempted at all. I was sorta joking the other day about Snickers, but really, I can look at all that candy and think to myself that it's just disgusting, overly sweet, nasty stuff and I can make myself almost feel sick thinking about it. Then I saw the egg coloring kits! Atkins friendly! Okay everyone, for Easter you can make beautiful, corlorful, happy-looking, uplifting hard-boiled Easter Eggs!!! Healthy and beautiful. Much better than nasty brown chocolate, most of which is that cheap waxy-tasting chocolate anyway.

        G'morning...

        Hope you feel better Scooter...and that was sweet of your wife. I never heard of White Chili...it did sound good though.

        On the Candy...I haven't bought anything yet. I have 4 kids do you think they would mind if we didn't do the whole Easter Candy thing? I know...not sure what I will do yet. I don't want them to have tons of candy either and I don't want extra laying around because I struggle when it comes to chocolate.

        I had a great dinner last night but was a little disapointed that I went up a half lb. I had 1/2 an avocado so I am thinking that is what did it. The rest was shrimp sauteed in a little bit of lime and oil and romaine and 1/2 a roma tomato. It will probably whoosh away in a couple of days.

          I'm IN. The thought of chocolate Easter bunnies makes me SICK...don't want 'em, don't want 'em, don't want 'em.

          Gotta concentrate on water today. I've been doing okay, but need to pound more water.

            Just checking in this morning. I must be in ketosis, because my DD has bags of candy sitting here (to ship her her DH, who is deployed) and none of it even looks tempting. The kids did color Easter eggs though, and I've been eating one or two of them a day. Much better than chocolate! Today is DH's birthday and he wants a cake. I will make it right after I eat though, so I'm not tempted to eat a spoonful of the batter! Luckily he wants a kind I don't like though, so that sholdn't be a problem.

            DD and I joined the Y yesterday. We have our first appointment with a trainer tomorrow, and then can start using all the equipment. We got quite a hike in yesterday afternoon looking for mushrooms though. I'm down a total of 7.4 pounds so far and starting to feel like I've got a little more energy.

                Good Morning All...

                I hope you feel better Scooter...

                were not doing any easter candy...we are doing eggs glorious eggs...lol
                my 9 yr old was perfectly fine with it and well my 1 yr old could care less...I have never been a big easter candy buyer...I guess that's a good thing...because my son never expects it from us...now from the rest of the family is a differant story...but they have been warned not to bring it to our house this year...and they actually act like they're going to comply...lol

                I got my walk in last night and I did 1.8 miles...woowhoo... I did try to run in little and I do mean tiny spurts...LOL but yeah that's not gonna happen again for a while... my knees and spine just wasn't friendly to me during or afterwards...I know now that I am still too big to be running...but I won't always be...

                  How come overweight people who struggle get skinny mates. MY DH ate a bag (yes a whole bag) of chocolate covered raisins last night. He will not gain an ounce. I might be up a pound just from kissing him good night.

                    BAN THE BUNNIES... and the CHICKS...oh wait the PEEPS!!!! Sugar is evil, and not a proper celebratory item for this holiday weekend....
                    This holiday we can all celebration our own renewal, working Atkins, causes us to work out a new lifestyle...DON"T GIVE POWER TO THE PEEPS OR BUNNIES!!! CLing to what works, and what keeps you in your ketogenic state which makes like a whole lot easier...A WHOLE LOT EASIER...
                    No bunnies at our house NO peeps either...no eggs...All chocholate stays in my husband's truck! He is in love with sugars and has been playing with the same 5lbs for 17 yrs...meanwhile I've gained and lost over 50 at least 4 times....hmmm who has the problem here, ME!!!

                      Laurenfra, I feel your pain. My wonderful Hubby burns calories like a machine. I started Atkins and he lost 10 lbs the first month. AND HE WAS NOT DOING THE PLAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!
                      Just from not having junk food in the house for him to munch on after work. I am almost to where I can have some around and leave it alone as long as I have good snackey stuff for me around. but not quite yet. The peeps are calling to me...........but I will not listen to the little peep voices this year. One little peep is the end to all my hard work, sooooo not worth it.

                        I am back with a little whoosh! My 6.5lbs yesterday turned into 9.5lbs! Makes no sense at all to me, but I'll take it. Two things that never were a problem last time were Crystal Lights and pepperoni. Yesterday I didn't have any pepperoni and I when I tired of water I substitued iced white tea for the Crystal Light. Not sure if that's what did it, but maybe.

                        Scooter, I had your sausage for breakfast today. I'll have to check the carb count again because I had seconds! Next time I'll use a little less salt, but it was delicious. I plan on making stuffed peppers this week and since they take sausage, I'm going to use yours. Hope you're feeling better soon. This insane weather doesn't help any.

                          Morning all. Candy?.....whats candy?.....oh that stuff! yeah, I dont think i will be eating any of that this sunday. I did my 3 day weight in yesterday and im down another 6 lbs. Thats 11 in 6 days about 20 in all, so i see no reason to stop this train any time soon. I hope you all have a suger free day.

                            Just the thought of peeps makes my stomach ill - and thats weather I'm on atkins or not! Ugggh!

                            I have GREAT, GREAT, GREAT news! I went from 195 yesterday to 191 this morning. The wooshie fairy came last night, and must have brought the tooth fairy, and tinkerbell too - cuz I normally never lose that much in a day! WAHOOOOOOO!!!!

                              Yes, I eyeballed the Easter candy because I had a mondo bag of it in my arms. Not for me! For my students, I swear. I bought the candy and kept walking, even though my eye was roving up and down that whole aisle. Normally I'm not tempted, I just happened to be ravenous and it was before dinner--that's the only time I'm tempted by non-legal stuff.

                              I also, have a skinny boyfriend who eats whatever he wants and doesn't gain an ounce. In fact, he lost 7 pounds when I first started Atkins. And he's not even on the plan! Life is so fair, isn't it? Luckily he's not a big sweets eater, so I don't have to worry about that junk in the house. And for Easter, we're making filet mignon and having some great wine (I'm not sure what stuff...we've got about 8 bottles in the wine rack), none of this ham and sugary candy junk. So I'm excited for a fine meal this weekend!
