I have been doing Atkins the 2nd time around for 2 weeks. My weight fluctuated up and down the same 2 pounds. It was frustrating, but I knew if I just hung in there and tweaked it a bit it would work for me, just as it did the first time. I found I was eating too much salt and my portions were too large. Starting Atkins at 272 pounds the first time and 142 the second time meant I couldn't eat the quantities I did before. Of course after doing low fat, low cal for the past few years I was craving all the full fat cheeses, salad dressings, bacon, sausage, heavy cream, spicy pork skins, etc that I deprived myself of for so long. Anyway.... to make a long story short, I took a cruise in Nov, then came the holidays, then I broke my foot and I've been in a cast the past 8 weeks. My weight went from 125 to 142. I was binging on carbs and sugar. I got my cast off on Monday, and that evening I started exercising again. I swam laps for 40 minutes the first day, and 60 minutes the past two days. My weight this morning was 137. I've lost 3 pounds in the last 3 days. EXERCISE MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE !!!!! Anyone who thinks they can be successful with this WOL is fooling themselves if they think they can do it without exercise. I am so greatful to be out of the cast and able to work out again. Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to dance. I've got to take it easy for the next 6 weeks, but I hope to be teaching ZUMBA again by June. Unfortunately I broke my foot teaching a ZUMBA class, but check out ZUMBA.com, it's a great intenational dance exercise program anyone at any age or weight can enjoy. It's more like a party then an exercise class. I don't want to sound like an advertisement, but that's what I did to maintain my almost 150 pound weight loss for several years. I'm doing the happy dance after getting on the scale this morning, and looking forward to doing some Ballroom and Swing dancing this weekend.

Welcome and thanks for sharing your enthusiasm over exercise. Exercise does make the biggest difference. It stimulates your mind and your body, makes you feel better and tightens the skin as you shed weight.
