Good Morning STACer's,
Well yesterday's post was kind of silly what with Chocolate Bunnies and such, however today, I wanted to go in a different direction. Exactly what are planning to do for the Easter holiday.
Obviously, it is a time when family's get together. Aunt Mary brings her famous coconut lamb shaped cake, or Uncle Bill makes his homemade brew that he always brings.
Living this lifestyle is about planning ahead. The little ones are excited about Easter Baskets etc, hiding eggs, most everybody is eating whatever they want, and we are sitting at the table on our hands, mouths watering, trying not to gain 10 pounds by looking at that honey glazed ham. Plus, family gatherings can also trigger emotional eating, or depression etc. Let's face it guys, we love our family members, but there is always someone who just drives you up the wall sometimes....I see you smiling, you know who I'm talking about!! haha!!!
Think about how you are going to deal with issues ahead of time. Don't wait until Sunday or Saturday, try to do some planning now. I thought that it might be fun....if.......
Let's say, all of us are getting together this weekend. What kind of dish would YOU bring to our pot luck dinner. Think about it today, and tomorrow maybe come back with a recipe, or an idea of how you plan your own 'Blueprint' of how to deal with the holiday.
I myself was not here during the Thanksgiving/Christmas holiday (I sure should have been by those ugly 14 pounds....they're gone now, but...dang....it still bugs me that I let that happen) so I'm not sure about proper protocol on this kind of thing! (kind of shooting from the hip so to speak).
I will do some research today and see if I can find, or even suggest some new links and threads for this happy family holiday this weekend. I sent a message yesterday to Outback Jess asking her insight on this post, so you might 'feel' a little Outback Jess in this post, or at least I hope I've done her justice by posting it at all.
Also, I saw a post earlier by Mikkey (Thank you) that kind of had the same topic, so either place works for me.....
So. Tomorrow we will have our own little ADBB Pot Luck, bring recipes, advice, suggestions, how to deal with temptation, etc.
What'cha all think? Good idea.....???
Best of luck.....Life is Good! (By the way...gig was good, felt much better last night.....weather changed in Indiana and we got Julirama's snow from Montana....last week 70 this week 20.....yikes!)
See ya all tomorrow, have a wonderful day.
