Long story short, I did Atkins about 3 yrs ago..had great results got down to 163 lbs (from 235!). Fell off the wagon, it ran me over, and didn't look back. I've attempted to start again a few times, but never seemed to manage to get back to that focus I had before. Things were a little different then..I was a stay at home mom, and now I work 50hrs a week outside the home. I think that is my biggest challenge. Not being able to eat what I want/when I want, and not packing well for lunches (what seems delicious the night before disgusts me the next day..), and the bathroom is a hike from my desk so drinking all this water kills me.
Regardless..I can do it, and I am back to do it.
My husband is also doing it, he has been doing it off and on several times, but I am proud to say he is really following atkins perfectly this time around, and the results are showing. He only had about 20lbs to lose, but he's lost it, and is now working on "bulking up" he says.
I am the highest weight I've ever been (even at the height of each of my 3 pregnancies)..246. I'm 5'9, 27yrs old. The last few drs appt they determined my blood pressure is on the higher end of things. Dr hasn't said anything about it yet, but NP and OB/GYN have both commented, with OB/GYN referring me to my regular dr. I know it's a combination of stress from recent health problems, and being overweight with little to no exercise.
Today is day 1. It's been ok actually other than having a headache from caffeine withdrawl. I've been pumping the water and have had 96 ozs so far, and will double that before nights end.
I'll try to check in, but I will definitely be reading along.
