  • I Made It

    I made it through day 2 without cheating. Thank you all for the great advice and things to eat. It helped me alot. I know I am only on day 3, but that is 3 days that I have been eating healthy. And yes, I will see blue skies. I wish I could check in more, but I work during the day, and have very active children. So, I will try to atleast check in 1x a day. I just know that will help me. So is it normal to already be in ketosis? I used a strip this morning..and according to it, I am in med-high ketosis. Also, I slept so GREAT last night. I have'nt slep that good since the last time I did ATkins. I just wanted to know if this was normal or not. I realize that everybody is different, but I don't want to be doin something wrong.

    Hi HMF, that is great that you made it through day two, thats how you have to look at it, is one day at a time and soon those days will become weeks, into months and before you know it, you will have a year behind you. As far as sleep, i notice i sleep better when i eat better, i just dont be as tired throughout the day like i use to and i dont need as much sleep, im good on about 6-7hrs of sleep where before i would be sleepy by mid afternoon and now im fine throughout the day.

      I used to take a sleeping tablet everynight and two on weekend nights. It takes me a long time to go to sleep and I have problems staying asleep even tho I avoided all caffine and did all the stuff you are suppose to do. I was never a big junk food eater to begin with so I don't think that was really the problem. I have noticed, however, since I started Atkins I haven't had to take any sleeping tablets. I go to sleep fairly quickly and sleep right thru. I don't want to get out of bed in the mornings but at least I am definately sleeping better!

            Great job to a fellow second time arounder! Ketosis by the third day is what I experienced the first time around and I am in it now on day 3, but not to the extent you are. Still, I feel the familiar warmth when I go to bed that I, perhaps falsely, associate with my body burning fat. I am sleeping great too and really looking forward to getting back to 170 lbs.
