  • New to forum…2nd time trying atkins…

HI! I am a forum newbie to posting but have been lurking on this site for months. It has been most informative! I am on day 4 of a clean induction (mostly clean…the shakes are just too yummy). I did atkins induction a few weeks back and lasted 1 month with no cheating. I lost around 15 pounds…since I have gained back 6 pounds or so and have come to the conclusion that I stopped prematurely. I am a 30 year old female…weigh 135…goal weight 120. I know everyone says go to the next rung when I am so close to goal but I really want to hit my goal weight and then move up the rungs as I maintain. It seems like my last 20 pounds are soooooooooooooo stubborn! I am starting back with the treadmill and curves asap so I should lose pretty fast. *said with fingers crossed* Anyway thought posting might help me with the days when I want to wrestle with my coworkers to snag their popcorn and sodas! I sit right next to the kitchen at work so I am assaulted hourly by the smell of buttery popcorn and other microwavable goodies. Oh well…It will all be worth it!

Hey Dixie, welcome to STAC, we are a big community full of alot of fun people...I think you are right, exercise on that treadmill and at curves will really be a benefit...I know that's how I gained alot of my control, using exercise to accomplish the "upper hand" and the food followed right along after that...if I was going to work that hard, I need to eat right to achieve my goals...Sounds like you've got goals too!

Welcome! I am doing a clean Induction too except for the shakes - I just cannot handle a lot of heavy protein in the morning, it makes me nauseous. I probably have them 4 times a week for breakfast and they haven't slowed me at ALL - I do stay around 15 or so net per day including the shakes, so if I had to count the full 5 carbs in the can I'd still be ok.

You and I are similar, last time I wanted to get there FAST and didn't progress through OWL appropriately, this time I am determined to do so so that I can make this a lifetime committment!

Welcome Dixie! You can stay on induction for quite a while, if you want. I'm not sure of the time limit on that, but I do believe it's into the months.

Smells always get me too, so stay strong! Drink lots of water if it gets to me too much.
