I am here to tell you that atkins works. Especially when you incorporate steady and consistent exercise. I PROMISE that for the majority of those who stick with this program and follow it precisely, You WILL see RESULTS!!! I have been gone for a while. Mostly because I took on a new job as a correction officer. Prior to my new job, I had a desk job where I'd eat ALL DAY LONG. I thought that maybe if I starved myself I'd lose weight. HA, I gained. I entered contest on my job and lost so much money, I just gave it away. I tried atkins then too but I did not follow it correctly. I lost maybe 7-10lbs, but I gained it back (went overboard with the carbs). I thought going into the corrections academy would be a great opportunity to jump start my weight loss. I decided to get serious, since they paid ME to workout. I'm pretty simple with what I ate, i didn't have much time to cook or prepare food. Basically my diet consisted of chicken/tuna salads, eggs, cheese, lots and lots of coffee as it naturally speeds up the metabolism, acts as an appetite suppressant and is a dieuretic (spelling?). I loved broccoli, string beans, pickles, olives, spinach, string cheese, pork rinds, crystal light and water. When I became bored, I would check out the menus on adbb. They have a lot of tasty and fun ideas. I started the academy in nov 06-at 175lbs. I graduated in Feb 07, I am now at 142lbs. I am not yet done. I'd like to get down to 130 lbs. But I feel so much better! This way of life works! I haven't gained any weight back, I'm just having a little trouble getting the extra lbs off b/c I stopped working out. In the academy we jogged for 15-20 lbs every morning at a very doable pace. At modells there is a waist trimmer that u can wear while u jog. That works too. My stomach went down tremendously. In fact that was the first place I noticed the loss. I wish you all the best, and Stick with it, you'll be so glad that you did!
