  • Northern Va support Buddy.

This is my 3rd time starting over. I really dont have support in my wife as she doesnt believe in the Atkins way. I am the type of person that needs quick 5 min meals as I am always on the go and dont have time to prep a lot.

I am looking for a buddy that wants to go through this with me from A - Z. I was thinking ... because I am a computer engineer we could use AOL or YIM and chat during the day to keep each other strong and uplift when things get rough.

    Let me know,
    Robert

I look forward to working with someone together.

Welcome Robert... Hopefully your wife will get on board with you and help you out.. But can you do some cooking ahead.. Last night I had Sausage and Cabbage.. and since I really don't like to eat leftovers for days.. I think I am going to freeze part of this for a quick meal.

Hi Robert. Welcome to the family. You've got a lot of support here and we're all willing to go through it with - always lending encouragement, advice and friendship. There is a penpal forum to match people up for individual support too, you might want to check that out.

My husband wasn't supportive of Atkins either when I began, but if anyone mentions Atkins now...he's a big believer and supporter of the program. Wishing you the best on your journey....keep us posted on your progress and if you ever need anything, just holler!

Making meals ahead and freezing them is a great way to always have something handy. I used to cook my meals one day a week, then each morning I made a variety of small "emergency" baggies with meat/cheese, boiled eggs, veggies to grab when I was on the run. BEST WISHES!!!

Yeah dude. This place here is chock full o' support and tasty recipes. You're depriving yourself looking for one buddy. With access to AOL and Yahoo IM, you should have web access.

Come here and get what you need. it's been working for me.

When you need some encouragement check out the success stories section. Some killer stuff in there.

          Hi Robert,
Everyone is right, you will find tons of support here. I myself work from home so I am usually available to say....

Okay Robert, take a deep breath and back away from that <insert whatever carbish thing that is tempting you here>.

            Hi Robert:
Check in here several times a day and you'll find it boosts you, no matter if you post or not.
As for your wife, no disrespect intended, but we all only get one shot at life, so do what you have to improve your health and well being. Congratulations for choosing to stick with Atkins despite what she and others may say.
If you can spare 15 minutes in the evening, you can get a lot of prep work done for food to eat the next day! Also, try out FitDay.com...you can set up a free account, plug in your foods for the day and it'll calculate your percentages of fat, protein and carbs for you. Good way to stay on track.
Hope to see you on the Boards!

Hey Robert, we'll make a believe out of your wife, because you are going to check in alot and make it happen in your life! My family are now 100% behind me too...I still take care of all my own stuff, but hey I'm the mom and the wife, I have to take care of my diet.

It might be good to cruise through the menu and receipe forum and see what you would be interested in, and print them out for your wife, or try and fix up some stuff on your own...keep all your bases covered til she starts to see the huge difference Atkins can make in your mood and weight and energy!!! You can be "the poster boy" for Atkins in your home!
Pop in alot we are all over the place on this site!
