    Floyd, have fun!!!

Skinnymom--I *LOVE* the idea of weigh day being on Sunday morning. That really does give incentive for being good on the weekend.

I don't know if it is induction legal, but the dh uses this, it's the only way I can get him to drink water, lol. It's called water sensations.

        www.watersensations.com

Ingredients: Filter water, natural flavor, citric acid and sucralose (splenda)

He uses 2 packs for 32 ounces of water, each pack is 5 ml or .17 fluid ounces and he uses 6 per day. Since citric acid is listed before sucralose it can't have very much in there so I don't think it would detract much from the daily splenda/sweetener (sp?) allowance. It certainly hasn't stopped him from losing weight, he has lost 11.5 pounds in 13 days, the brat, lol.

I am gearing up for the veggie challenge, went to super walmart this morning and got veggies galore. Got some portabellas too, for stuffing.

Weekends are fine for me, but then I work from home, so it's just like every other day of the week for me. It's a given that I will take snacks if we are going to go anywhere for any length of time, I don't like eating out. I much prefer my own cooking and so does the dh.

After gaining 4 pounds my first week of induction (I still say it's from starving my body for a year on that evil other diet, poor body said...FOOD!!! REAL FOOD!!!! We're hanging on to this stuff!) I am now 1/2 pound down from where I started. So technically I have lost 4 1/2 pounds.

Missymiss, cleaning house (once it's done) always makes me feel better. Especially if I take a nice long, candlelite bubble bath afterwards as a reward. Hang in there, it will get better.

Good morning everyone! Nice sunny day and looking forward to the last day of work for the week. Finally found my book! I've been searching every store around to try to find a new one, but I found mine at my parents house yesterday! Gonna re-read it over the weekend.

Hope everyone has a great day! It's not the weekends that get me either, its the week nights when I get home late and don't feel like cooking lol

Good Morning Everyone, just checking in this Friday morning. Kind of bummed today, don't think i will be able to excercise like i planned. Went hiking yesterday for 6 miles and half way through the walk, had a blister forming on my heel so i still had a ways to go, well my hubby changed shoes for me, but that thing is hurting so bad today, it was a water blister that opened up i guess with all the friction of the walk yesterday and i dont even know if i can put on tennis shoes, dont think i can do walking or elliptical with flip flops, but who knows, im going to start a thread to see if there is anything i can put on it to make it feel better. WEll you all have a blessed weekend!!!!

Hey, you know, that's probably very close to the truth. That could very well explain why some people struggle when beginning this WOE. The body isn't used to being fed properly and needs to adjust.

                Good Morning!

I started out in a great mood today, but after sitting 30 minutes in the school carpool line, my son decided he felt too bad to go to school and now he is at home with me. I know this sounds horrible of me to be pi$$ed that he is at home with me, but the thing is, is that he absolutely hates school and will do or say anything to get out of it. So, I never know when he is genuine or not. They have been taking standardized testing all week, and today is a "fun" day for them - meaning they could wear free dress (usually wears a uniform), there will be no tests or homework (which usually happens on Fridays), and can bring a drink and a snack with them, so I'm thinking he really did feel bad to miss that. But then again... he seems a little too perky now that we're home. I feel like hauling his little a$$ back there now. *Sigh*

I had planned to get a 5 mile outdoor walk in this morning, but I can't leave him alone. I guess after I pout about this a little more, I will have to ride my stationary bike indoors. I hate doing that when it is sunshining outside.

OK... enough b*tching from me. Thanks for listening to me rant. Let's all have a great Friday and a great weekend.

                  Re: Friday morning Roll Call

I've only gotten one glass of water down so far lol - but I did have eggs and sausage for breakfast so my stomach feels really full. The best part, I got full before I could finish it!! I'm so glad, usually I wolf that meal down and about halfway through I started to feel like I was filling up. I did eat most of it just to keep my hunger at bay till lunch but it was nice to notice my appetite getting more reasonable.

I wonder if I put a little lemon juice in my water if that will mix it up enough to taste better?

Mitzi I'd be wanting to haul my kid back to school in that situation too lol!

                    Hey all!

I'm having a good day, lost some inches this week, as well as 1.5 pounds. I'm 1/2 pound away from my next minigoal! I'm eating a great breakfast, and my goal today is to run 4 or 5 miles at the gym (GRRR on a treadmill! It's snowing outside!) and drink 1+ gallons of water. I didn't drink enough water yesterday, and I can feel it.

                    Have a great Friday, STACers!

                      Happy Friday Everyone!

Forgive me fellow STAC members for I have sinned. I didn’t log in yesterday cause I took a vacation day from work to get some of my ebay stuff done (it is like a second full time job) and run some miscellaneous errands. I started out pretty good…I had an arbys sandwich for breakfast (since I also slept in) with no bun and lots of water. So I was not even hungry when I drove past my favorite taco place…Taco Casa. I talked myself out of wanting it. Success Right? Wrong! As soon as I left the post office I drove back over there (miles out of my way) and proceeded to eat 2 tacos (shells and all) and a small Dr. Pepper…the taco shells were even a bit stale but the Soda tasted oooooh so good! Mmmmm…forbidden soda! Anyway needless to say I felt horrible afterwards and like a complete looser! Then to make things worse I started thinking well since I messed up anyway…why not just grab an ice cream on the way home…might as well right? I mean I can always just start over on Monday (I bet I have used the Monday start thing over a 100 times in my life) so why not. Luckily I somehow came to my senses and did not get the ice cream…I did good the rest of the day and even had gilled chicken and veggies for dinner while my boyfriend had a cheeseburger and frys (and I LOVE frys). I expected to see the scales go up this morning but they were still the same so maybe I got lucky…not sure if I am still in ketosis or not but I will check later. Anyway long story short (too late for that) I am back on track today and plan to be extra good all weekend. We are going to an arts festival tomorrow where I will be assaulted by funnel cakes, corny dogs, and more but I have it all planed out. No funnel cake will enter my mouth!

MissyMiss - Cheer up! Just remember “Nothing tastes as good as being at your goal weight will feel”…except maybe that soda yesterday…just kidding…It probably had ants in it anyway…lol!!! Seriously stay strong…the guilt is not worth it!

Mitzi - I hated school too and played sick constantly…after a while my mom got wise and dumped me off there anyway and told me if I was really sick then go to the nurse and she would come back for me. That would probably work with most kids but I just went to the nurse, who would not let you go home unless you were running a fever. So I rubbed the thermometer on my jeans to create friction and a “fever” and then waited patiently for Mom to drive back up there. Once home I made a miraculous recovery and spent the day playing video games. Luckily for Mom my "I hate school" phase didn’t last more than a year.

It does help me appreciate regular, clean water more. LOL Some believe there are health benefits to it but others don't believe it. Just a note, though, Atkins warned not to do this too much.

You're allowed lemon juice as a "special" category food (in the same group as olives, sour cream, heavy cream, avocado, etc.) I believe it's limited to 1 tbsp a day. I've put a slice of lemon in my water everyday...otherwise, I'm not sure I'd be as inspired to drink it!

Others have said that cucumber slices in water tastes good too.

I drink hot water with a slice of lemon in it a couple of times a day. It sounds weird, but it's better than tea or coffee. Works for me!

Day 3- staying strong, still need to lower my carbs but waiting for Ketosis to help me with that...I know my TOM is lurking around so I'm extra hungry. I am just eating legal foods. Work is definately the hardest for me, followed by the weekends- Well I guess that takes care of that, pretty much everyday is hard. LOL
