I have a big blister on my heel from my 6mile hiking adventure yesterday. I bought new tennis shoes for walking so what better way to break them in, is to wear them to go hiking for six miles, wrong, i should have broken them in before i ventured out on that journey. Well now i dont know if i can go walk or do anything today, i was trying to make this a 6 out of 7 this week, and i only have today and tomorrow left. Does anybody know what will make it feel better, any home remedies maybe, it opened up as we were walking yesterday so it is really sore today. Thank god my hubby felt sorry for me yesterday because it started hurting half way through and we didnt have any choice but to make it back to the car, so after he gave me a sock off his foot to add to mine to make the shoe tighter so it wouldnt keep rubbing up and down and that didnt work, he gave up his shoes, i was almost in tears, is how bad it hurt, so he gave me his shoes and he wore mine, we wear pretty much the same size, but of course those were lady shoes and were more narrow, so by the time the walk was over his feet were sore, but he dont have any blisters. If anyone can offer some advice i would appreciate it.

Re: maybe someone can help me
First off, your husband is a DEAR DEAR man for giving you his shoes!! Sounds like a keeper!
Next, go to Walmart or pharmacy and look in the Dr. Scholl's section where they have the foot medicines and shoe inserts and stuff. Look for padded moleskin. You can put any bandaid over the blister and then put the moleskin on top of the bandaid. It will cushion and not allow any more rubbing on that area.~Joy

Re: maybe someone can help me
Thank You so much you guys, i will make my way to walmart today to get some stuff, i think i will take it easy today and just excercise tomorrow as planned. I want to go hiking again tomorrow but at a new location and dont want to hurt my foot anymore than it already is by working out today. Well i might go and mow the grass today, now that is a workout, so who knows maybe i will get my 6 out of 7 days this week.

Re: maybe someone can help me
I second the moleskin.
It's fantastic. But I'd put a little bandaid on it first.

Re: maybe someone can help me
I prefer the molefoam over the moleskin! The padding helps me because I'm a big girl, and that moleskin doesn't do much for me. What I've found to work best is to put strips of foam around the blister (like a moat around a castle) rather than on top of the blister. This stuff works so well that I'm able to do long runs with blisters and not feel them. The moleskin didn't work so well for me and left me with bigger blisters. Try both! I would recommend moleskin for blisters on your heel or for small blisters, but for large ones, use molefoam.START 8/16/06 @ 270+~MG1: 220-12/2/06~MG2: 210-1/07~MG3: 199-3/2/07~MG4: 190-4/27/07~MG5: 180-7/04/07~GOAL: 170
