  • I did it and you can too!!!

Yes, I met my first weight loss goal today! I thought I'd never see the 120's again in my life. Atkins worked for me the first time 4 years ago but I failed it by not following the program and not really doing induction right several times afterwards.

Perhaps it's easy to look at me and say,"Well you don't have that much to loose." But I was as unhappy and depressed with my body and eating habits as anyone. I knew I could exercise, that's in my control, but true weight loss seemed to elude me.

Well, healthy living and weight loss requires determination and comittment no matter what the numbers and my message today is if I can do it anyone can!! Life...take it one day at a time and revel in the small accomplishments as they add up over time to huge ones!

You all are such an inspiration that has kept me focused and looking forward to following the program through this time. I plan on being here for a long time and hopefully paying it forward.

YAY! I am about the same as you, only 3 inches shorter. My high weight was 138 and when I weighed in after one week of Induction I was 129 (I did lose a few lbs before starting Induction but started at 136) and I hear ya on no matter how much you have to lose, it's still depressing and daunting. People look at me and don't think I really need to lose weight but I dress to hide my overweight areas and I was in the overweight range for my height. You are so close to goal, you will be so happy on your cruise!

Re: I did it and you can too!!!

Congrats on your weight loss…we are close to the same size and I started atkins in the 140’s too (the first time). Everyone tells me the same thing! You look so good now…why do you want to lose more…you will look like a stick…why don’t you just tone up…you are being ridiculous…you are a rail…and on and on. Almost to the point that I just don’t mention diet or losing weight anymore. I tell them looking good in a pair of figure flattering blue jeans and a t-shirt is one thing but looking great in a bikini is another! I can remember what I looked like at 110 – 120 and I looked hot! They remember me at 190 and can’t believe the transformation already. The same people always say they never knew I was 190, I did not look it and still now they say “you don’t look 130” but if I came to work in a bikini I bet they would figure out where the extra 10 - 15 pounds are “hidden”. Anyway ignore them…we know what size we look and feel the best at and that is all that maters!

WOW! I just looked back at my 2006 calendar and I have my weight marked at 182 from 01/24/06…that is 52 pounds lost in just over a year…not all on Atkins but it has certainly helped with the last stubborn bit!
