    Good afternoon all STACers.
    For me, a relative newbie to this board - but 2nd timer to Atkins, I can't stress how much this forum is helping me keep on track. I've learnt so much about Atkins WOE from all of you guys, that I never realised before. I have had so many little tips that are keeping me going. I love the 'Pay it forward' unofficial motto we have here. Early on, Adena suggested I try fitday.com and it has been a such a positive part of my woe. I've passed that tip onto a couple of newbies who started in the past week and hopefully they will do the same in the future.

    Knowing that I am part of a community is such an amazing feeling, and knowing that I have 100's of cheerleaders sharing mini goals really is something that is quite incredible.

    So Jess, that was another great question from you!!

      Welcome Apple! And HOORAY Sandy!

      I thrive on the support here. The feeling that everyone cares about each other and genuinely WANTS them to succeed. Yesterday I was feeling down and whiny, and instead of getting people telling me to get over it I got support, and "I've been there's" and that helps immensely.

      My exercise really DID boost my mood yesterday and I am so glad I did it. I never would have started if not for the push I receive here. Looking forward to doing it again today!!

          Now come on, that's just plain silly. If no one has chased me off, it's a pretty good bet that no one is going to do it to you. Since you never know what I might write, (I surprise myself sometimes) I certainly would deserve it more!! LOL! Write away!

              Wow! I'm obese now! I didn't realize that! I might have to celebrate this weekend. I can't wait until I'm overweight! Doesn't that sound strange, though? Don't worry, Sandy, you'll be obese one of these days too! LOL!

                  For me, staying close to the board, not letting my head get too big, helping others...it all helps me get to my goal.

                  It's been a slow 9 months. STAC has helped me TREMENDOUSLY. I'm not sure I would have had the gumption to stick it out had it not been for the people here. Other goalies want me to join them. Newbies desperately need to see me succeed. Girls who are at the same point say C'mon lets do it.

                  Jess, like you said, pumping others up, giving them information, helping them out--it not only helps someone else, but it helps ME. It keeps ME motivated, it helps ME remind myself why I do this day in and day out.

                  What I really love is being able to pour my thoughts and my experience and my efforts into people who are OPEN and WILLING to be helped. STAC, especially, is full of those types of people. They've done it once before and realized they messed up. Now they're back to do it right. They are OPEN to advice from others. They are WILLING to listen. They aren't here with preconceived notions in their head. (for the most part).

                    Good Morning~~lots of early birds here today!

                    What makes this place thrive for me is the comaradarie...it's genuinely felt. I think we've all had blah days, but no one has ignored us, or made us feel like jerks. What I've really noticed is that I talk to you guys in my head - a lot! When I'm at the grocery store, when I'm out for a walk, when I'm in line at the store RIGHT BESIDE THE CHOCOLATE BARS ! You were with me in the fitting room when I had to ask for a smaller size to try on, you were with me when I sat and talked to a lady who told me she had started Atkins but was hating it, and lots of times at work I'm pretty sure I can hear you all laughing and yakking and having all kinds of fun. So I sneak in and lurk just to make sure you're all still here. (I just don't feel right logging in while I'm at work..what a nerd!)
                    Anyways...hope no one just gives up and quits without posting first. This is a long journey we're on...much more fun to share it with friends along for the ride.

                      Some of my mini-goals were determined using this BMI thingie...

                      Currently "morbidly obese" with BMI >=40
                      222# = BMI of 39 = "obese" only (Ironically, this was my lowest weight on Atkins years back. Then priorities changed and I gained it all back.)

                      166# = BMI of 29 = "overweight"
                      138# = BMI of 24 = "NOT overweight" (which is two pounds less than my original goal of 140 - Go figure...)

                        Hi, guys!

                        Wow, I popped in for a moment to check in before hopping on my bicycle, and I am just about in tears... I love all of you guys so much! I have always been a bit of a loner, so I don't have a lot of friends. I think of each and every one of you as a friend now. Each of you has such special and unique personalities, and I appreciate all of them. You make me consider things I never thought of, you teach me to cook, you make me laugh out loud, you make me happy.

                        Please accept my thanks and gratitude... I would not be nearly as strong without you.

                          I love STAC--I think this is the friendliest most helpful forum...why? Because we're humbled! We've been there and back...literally. I'm definitely learning from my mistakes. I want to help others so they DON'T have to learn from their mistakes--they can learn from mine and prevent making the same ones.

                          So today is a great day! I reached my 4th minigoal! I'm down 1/2 pound this week and 2.5 inches. A bit of a smaller loss, but I'll take it just the same.

                          I hope everyone has a great Friday!
