  • third time around?

    i'm back!

Not sure if anyone remembers me from the summer, but I was a friend of STAC and lost about 10 pounds while being with you guys.

Thennnnnnnnnnnn went back to school. College student beer-and-pizza-diet resumed, and so, I've had a rough year! I'd say so much of it was from my addictions to sugar. Headaches, laziness, feelings of general shittiness.

Even ONE day I'd try to hop back on atkins. I couldn't even make it one day!

Now my weight is up to 168. I was 128 when I came into college!

Yesterday I went the entire day carb-free. And felt really awesome. I found I could focus more, and I could already tell I was doing myself a huge favor by curbing my sugar addiction!

Also, I'm signed up for a charity triathlon at the end of the summer (July 28th). I used to be a long-distance runner and swimmer, but since I have been in college I've quit exercising altogether.

But I'm really psyched about the triathlon and will keep everyone posted on how the training is going for me.

Sooooooooooo it's good to be back! you'll be hearing from me !

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

        Re: third time around?

Welcome back. So happy you've come back to join us. You said you spent a whole day carb-free...do you mean you are on induction and limiting your carbs to 20? Remember that you need to follow the induction rules in order for your body, health and mind to function it's best. The purpose is to turn your body into a fat-burning machine. Depriving yourself causes frustration which leads to many people giving up. Do you still have a copy of the book, Dr. Atkin's New Diet Revolution, edition 2002?

Glad you've committed to the triathlon...that will give you a goal to work towards and motivation to make it happen. I'm sure you'll find lots of encouragment and support here with the journals, challenges, recipes and numerous people to make friends with. We're all in this together and helping each other create plans to make this a way of life so we can lose the weight and keep it off. Best wishes - keep us updated!!
        Starting Date 3/12/04 285/165/145 - F

Dedication gives wings to our dreams and keeps them in flight! In One Word...COMMITTMENT.
