  • A New Situation

Okay..whoever said that I have new situations to deal with all the time here is one...lol

My daughter and I are invited to her friends house tomorrow night for dinner.. Actually what is funny is that my daughter and this friend both are having there ingrown toenails removed.. He did his yesterday hers is today... So they are kind of not active right now..

So anyway.. Brittany jokingly said to Sam.. Whatcha cooking me? He and his mom both work in a dining hall at a Christian Camp so he is always cooking.. Well yep.. its something I shouldn't eat.. Some kind of noodles, with chicken and broccoli and I think a cream sauce.

I really can't eat beforehand and be full cause we are going over there at 3 and have dinner when his mom gets home from her hair appointment.. I can't eat afterwards cause we are going to church with them.

I know they would do something different for me...but I hate asking.. I told Brittany that I would just take some leftovers from tonight.. But I don't want to make them feel bad..

    What would you do?

I would call the mom and tell her thanks for the invite, and let her know I was on Atkins. I think that would be much better than bringing something else to eat. As long as the chicken is not breaded, you would be able to eat the chicken, and broccoli and ask her what is in the cream sauce. Maybe the only thing you can't have are the noodles.
If you get off track, remember that every day is a fresh start.

I figured.. maybe I could ask her to leave me some chicken and broccoli out before she mixes it up.. She won't be home until 5 and figured that was a quick dinner...before church..

That's a perfect solution, just ask her to set aside some of the chickie and broc for you and you'll be fine. No extra work for her and no ones feelings get hurt.

I would bring my own, maybe an already cooked chicken or a steamed vegie tray something anyone else could eat too if they wanted so would not single you out too much.

Great job, figuring out a solution! That is what will get you to goal. I'm sure she won't mind fixing your food separate. The important thing is that you are going and enjoying their company.

I think I am going to just take some of tonights leftovers and take it with me.. My daughter is going to tell the son not to fix food for me that I am on a special diet and will bring mine..

Mom should understand...cause I have watching her shopping in Walmart..and she eats healthy...
