  • Throw Out Those Scales!!!!

    Hi everybody, ok i know we all get discouraged with the scales and if the numbers are not moving either in the right direction or fast eneough. WEll let me tell you i started the last 6 wk challenge and it is about up, well i started at 295lbs and even went down to 290 and went up to 300, now i was getting a little upset here, well today because i was impatient and looking in the mirror i told my hubby my thighs look smaller, now if i could just get rid of this belly we will be getting somewhere lol. But anyway i couldnt wait to take my measurments, and the scale read 290 again this morning, so i took my measurements and I have lost a total of 18.75 inches of my body I am so happy that i did not let that scale discourage me, i will wait until i post for the end of 6wk challenge to say where i lost where but im so excited and i know its all the excercise that i have been doing, because i really have disciplined myself to get my butt out there at least 5 days a week, even if some of those days all i did was walk for 30 minutes, im telling you excercise makes the difference, now as far as the scale not moving much im taking it im building muscle so who knows maybe i will get a whoosie when everything catchs up. Just had to share, because i see so many get discouraged including me with the numbers on that scale and i know im losing even if the scale doesnt want to tell me that, because in the last month i have put on 2 items of clothing that was fitting like a glove and now they fit nicely!!!!

    Lisa, congratulations!! You success really inspires me and reminds me to try to exercise more consistently--what an amazing loss of inches you have had!!! Way to go!

      Lisa, that's awesome! I haven't owned a set of scales for probably 20 years and I have no intention of buying a set any time soon.
      You're so right about the exercise too...our bodies need to move, even if it's like you said, a 30 minute walk once a day...it's a start, and joining those challenges really inspires you to not falter.

                    This is a great post, and what a great experience you have had. You can toot the "exercise horn"...I remember when you were struggling just to get through a day, and the your father took ill, and died. Not too long ago either, and our friends here at STAC don't know how hard you have worked to get back in control! I am so proud of your persistence! YOU GO GIRL>

                      Thank you everyone for your kind words, i do feel great, even if that scale is lying to me lol, the tape measure is my friend. I went yesterday and walked with my kids, and we jogged a little here and there, i have to say im getting a little better at it, but my 6yr old was breathing heavier than me, im like goodness, i need to get her out here more, but i was suprised that i was not the one breathing all crazy, i guess my body is gettting use to the excercise!!!!

                        great results!! and what beautiful babies you have. i had to ultimately send my scale on vacation. i literally had a friend take it to her house and i'm only able to visit it once a month. you have no idea how much stress that has taken off of me. i too lose inches way faster than pounds. keep up the good work!
