  • another go

This is my 2nd 1/2 try at Atkins. 1/2 becuause I sort of tried it for a whole three days between my first attempt and this one.

First time around I did great until I took a vacation. Told myself I'd get right back on track after the week but never could. I ended up going right back into my very unhealthy eating/lazy habits. Here I am again a few years later and tired of having to lift stuff up in order to see if I'm wearing my belt.

I'm starting fresh on 5/6/7 weighing in at a plump 213 pounds. My first goal will be to get back below 200. I'm hoping to reach that goal by the end of May. Then I plan on taking it 10 pounds at a time. My current waist size is 42 inches and I'm eyeing a pair of 36 in. jeans in my closet I never threw out.

The thing I'm looking forward to the least is exercising. I like it once I start going and afterward I'm glad I did but I find it hard to actually force myself to do it. That'll be the true test for me.

    So, here I go again!

    Re: another go

Morning "D" welcome to STAC, You can do it, with that determination and focus and slowly getting the control. I would encourage you to get right on the exercise bandwagon! Exercise really helps establish control, it releases endorphines that make you feel great and it's very empowering...I would also tell you, in just a few days, 3 or 4 days you will be in ketosis, and thats where the appetite gets surpressed and the cravings slow down and you break through into this great place! It's worth the work and the pain to get there!

That kills me if I don't. I spend my sunday's boiling eggs, and cooking up chicken breasts and bacon and anything I can pre make to grab and go or pack a lunch without too much effort. Good luck!!!

It took me awhile (silly me stopped following Atkins), but I came down from 215ish and am now closing in on my goal. Come in with the proper mindset. Read that book, read all the stickies. Know that there is no "cheating". There's nothing to "go back to". It's atkins or your health, atkins or a chubby body. Spice the woe up with some great recipes, don't let yourself fall into a rut, THAT is when people are tempted. Visit here often for support, read the daily check ins, it helps me tons!
