Do any of you watch the Biggest Loser? I love that show.. I get so amazed at how wonderful the people on there look when they have lost 40lbs.. Its so encouraging when you have over a 100lbs to lose and you see them..and you get discouraged because you don't feel like you are ever going to get there...

I agree, That show is very inspiring, especially for those of us who dread the "E" word....but you cant have TRUE success without it.

Re: Biggest Loser Show
I'm a huge fan of the show, mostly for inspiration. They've bashed atkins or low carb ways of life before, but I ignore it. Some of the drama gets to me and I fast forward (yays tivo), but in the end, seeing these people lose the weight does help me keep going.
Wow! Missed your new pic the first time around. That's a huge difference already! Looking Good!

Re: Biggest Loser Show
I was addicted to the most recent season--I watched it every single week. It really was inspiring, but in a way, it was almost too much to believe. How often were their weigh-ins, that's what I want to know. Just because they'd be losing 8 pounds every single week...geez!START 8/16/06 @ 270+~MG1: 220-12/2/06~MG2: 210-1/07~MG3: 199-3/2/07~MG4: 190-4/27/07~MG5: 180-7/04/07~GOAL: 170

There weigh ins are weekly.. Even though I know I would NEVER go through a rough program like that..there weightloss is inspiring

Re: Biggest Loser Show
Love the show too, I've even been watching the re-runs on cable. Great stuff. Also bought one of the biggest loser exercise DVDs. It's pretty good and fun because it's the contestants and trainers doing the exercises.
I really hope they do a "where are they now" type of show. I can't imagine how hard it would be to keep that weight off after such an imersive program. Real world has to hit you like a ton of bricks after that.Grant

Re: Biggest Loser Show
I agree! Sandy, you look great! You're doing a great job taking care of you
Add me to the fan list of the BL. I even bought the book with Bob on it. It's really inspiring watching these folks change their lives and reading/watching how they did it.
From my memory...the BL is usually starting in the Fall, or just after school goes back into session; and then ends sometime around December. Then after BL ends, American Idol begins. (Okay, so I'm a junkie of both..lol).
My family loves watching it because they see how important it is to stay healthy and take care of our bodies. And I like to watch it because it gives me some kind of mental boost and challenge. But I'm also curious about the amount of weight the folks lose and if they have been able to keep it off.
Oh, and in the book, although they don't tout Atkins specifically, they do provide "Low Carb" type of menus.
Now, I'm totally stoked!
