Sandy and skinneymom, Congrats on the one pound loss.

Thanks.. I love the water aerobics..but I hate just adding one more thing to my schedule.. But I think I just about have my daughter interested in doing it with me.. She is 14.. The nice thing about the Y is being able to do the classes and the equipment.. So even if DD doesn't want to do the Water class (cause of TOM) then she can do something else without it costing me extra...

        Re: Thursday Check in

        Good morning everyone!

Having a stressful morning, but starting to calm down. I had to drop my NEW car off at the shop again! Scream at the service manager, and drive a piece of crap car that they are charging me for! GRRRRR ....
Then Forgot my lunch and breakfast I packed this morning, and now I have to go out and buy lunch, etc. what a waste! That guy is lucky I reserved the desire to knock him out this morning! LOL Ok I got that out, and I feel a little better.

Now, Its a beautiful day here, going to be 87 degrees! And tomorrow is Friday, thats all good stuff
Feeling good, anxious to measure saturday and see how I did this week. I am in ketosis and love it! I can't wait to be at goal eventually and never be this fat girl again! I am keeping my eye on the prize today, and trying to stay pumped and motivated and push myself each day to exercise harder and faster and melt off these pounds.

That was a little pep talk for myself I think, ha ha

        Have a great day everyone!

Wow, it sounds like everybody is doing great and going strong!

And ladies, do NOT be depressed about only losing a pound this week! If you lost ONLY 1 pound a week, in a year, you would have lost over 50 pounds! That is totally awesome!

I got myself out of bed this morning at 5:45 and ran 2 miles in a bit less than 20 minutes. It actually felt really good--I have tried exercising in the morning in the past, and it never worked. But THIS actually worked--I had tons of energy, and I just felt like I was zooming down the sidewalks. I plan on running 2 miles every morning as a "wake-up" this summer. In the afternoons/evenings I'll do my usual fitness regime.

Wow, what a boost to work out in the morning. I feel GREAT today!

            Re: Thursday Check in

Kim great pep talk! I'm giving myself the same one. My best friend and I are going to the beach in July with our families and I keep complaining about how chubby I am and how embarrassed I will be to be seen in a bathing suit next to her this summer. What she doesn't know is that I'm on Atkins and losing weight so I am going to surprise the heck out of her when I see her in June! That is what is keeping me going right now. I set things to look forward to in order to stay on track. First is suprising her and my inlaws and SIL in 5 weeks when we visit. Next is looking FINE on the beach lol, and then seeing my parents, and then the cruise.....after those four milestones it will be second nature to eat this way and I will be in maintenance!

Good morning everyone. No weight loss here in a week or more, but I can almost wear my smaller pants so something must be going on. I started measuring my waist a few weeks ago, but it doesn't seem so simple! Where is my waist? It's hard to tell and I think it shifts!!

Skinnymom - I also have those little goals. 4th of july I want to be able to wear a bathingsuit and feel incredible in it! Then labor day weekend parties, and anything going on this summer that I will be in a social setting. Generally I get anxiety about these things because I am always feeling fat and like all the other girls are better than me, etc. I really push every day so that I no longer have to feel that way and can walk in with all the confidence in the world. I also want to make DH proud to be by my side again. I was 130 lbs when we first started dating and plan to get there again!

                      Re: Thursday Check in

Morning all. I dont mean to be depressing but Im having a terrible day already. Its my husbands 25th birthday today and we got into a terrible argument last night that has carried over into today. We both went to bed angry and I pictured myself driving to McDonalds and getting a big mac meal and scarfing the whole thing down. But I didnt. Then I dreamt about the big mac, so that was the first thing on my mind this morning. Eeeew. I did weigh myself though and Ive lost another 3 pounds. So that helps to keep me motivated. Its just so hard when Im this upset. I just wanna eat eat eat. I think Im gonna go for a walk instead.

And Jess, I lost my mother to lung cancer 4 years ago, when I was 20. It was devastating, and I really just fell into a deep depression which included binge eating which made me fat and Ecxtasy use to make me skinny. After awhile, I realized that she wouldnt have wanted me to feel sorry for myself, and abuse my body the way I was. So I quit.

So I admire the way you are handling your loss. You are a model for those of us that dont handle these things well. Just know, that no matter how much it hurts now, it gets easier. Eventually it wont hurt so bad. I miss my mom every single day of my life. But its not crippling anymore. I wish you the best Jess. And Im truly sorry.

mrs. davis - I am so sorry about your fight with your hubby! I know how that is, and makes you want to just give up and eat the macdonalds. BUT, you haven't and you can't! You are doing this for you, and no one else and it is your accomplishment that you just tell yourself your not throwing away over a stupid argument. (I am assuming it was one of those silly arguments, and if I am wrong you can cyber slap me for assuming) Anyway good job not letting it get the best of you, it is hard sometimes.

Matt, way to go!! I can't wait to fit into something I didn't before!

A tidbit from my physical therapist. She read recently in some medical journal (she couldn't remember which one) that for every pound you go down, you're taking four pounds of pressure off the knees.

Now that's something to think about!
