  • Aaauuuggghhh!!!

You know those old Peanuts cartoons where Charlie Brown would go to kick the football that Lucy was holding for him? She would pull it away and he would yell, "AAUUGGHH!" while falling, then just lie there on the ground?

I feel like that today. For some reason, I am really struggling. I've been doing so well and have had so much support from family and friends so I can't figure out what the problem is. I'm craving bad stuff like crazy! I just want to eat and eat bread and pasta and sugar. I can't figure it out. The only thing I can think of is that TOM is visiting and I'm hormonal.

I had some cashews and I had gravy on my beef tonight, which, of course, made me feel terribly guilty. And being the emotional eater I am, that made me hungrier.

I did order some shiritake noodles that I saw Kim and Julie talking about and thought that might help in the pasta department. I need to just make sure that I go to bed, sleep it off, and get back on plan tomorrow. Hopefully it will be a better day.

I would say it's probably your tom...happens to me too. Keep yourself as busy as possible to keep your mind off of food! Clean out cupboards or something....and keep drinking that H20!

I UNDERSTAND COMPLETELY! I HAVEN'T FIGURED OUT QUITE YET WHAT MY TRIGGERS ARE. THOUGH, I HAVE NOTICED WHEN I SIT DOWN AND WATCH TV I ALWAYS FIND MYSELF WANTING TO PIG OUT. SO, I'VE DECIDED NOT TO DO THAT. WHEN I CAME HOME FROM WORK TODAY I TURNED ON THE RADIO AND STARTING CLEANING.... GUESS WHAT?! I DIDN'T THINK ABOUT FOOD UNTIL MY TUMMY STARTING SCREAMING AT ME. IT WAS GREAT!! AS FAR AS TOM... YEAH, FOR SURE THAT'S A ROUGH TIME. I SEEM TO ALWAYS EXCUSE MYSELF FOR TURNING TO SWEETS ALMOST LIKE I DESERVE IT FOR THE PAIN I'M IN... OF COURSE, IT MAKES NO SENSE TO GIVE IN. WE'RE ONLY ADDING EMOTIONAL/MENTAL PAIN ON TOP OF OUR PHYSICAL PAIN.... HAVE A GREAT, CLEAN DAY TOMORROW!!! ~CHRISTY

((CHERI)) Hang in there..this too shall pass.. Just make sure that everything that enters your lips is something legal..Even if you eat too much.. Tom is a cruel thing...lol He messes without emotions constantly. Maybe plan on some new recipes to try to get your mind off of things..

            Hi Cheri,
For me I found that cashews gave me TERRIBLE cravings, and I LOVE cashews!!! Amonds don't give me cravings at all...so weird. Something that helps me when I have a craving is cream cheese
I put a tablespoon or 2 of cream cheese (or one of those little 3oz squares), splenda, and a drop of vanilla in a glass bowl and put it in the microwave for 10 seconds. It tastes like cheese cake!!! It reallt will get better

Thanks so much, guys! Those are great ideas.

Sandy - I did get on Linda's site this am and printed some new recipes I hadn't tried. Going to the store before I get home so I can make one for dinner tonight. I also thought that I would try to freeze some little quiches so that when I'm stuck, I can just pull one out. I love quiche. I am also buying some flax meal to try those muffins you guys are raving about.

Nicole - My mil said that same thing - I should try almonds instead of cashews. I'm not too crazy about them, but my tastes have changed some since I started this WOE, so maybe I'll like them more!

                    Re: Aaauuuggghhh!!!

Cashews and Peanuts (for me, anyway) are PURE EVIL. I will go crazy on them. Binge on THEM, and then BINGE on all sorts of other stuff trying NOT to binge on THEM. It's vicious and I *know* I need to avoid them at all costs.

TOM makes me crave a little bit. But, most times when I'm feeling really craving, that's because of a food trigger. Coffee with cream and sweetner is one of mine. Peanuts, cashews too.

Review your menu very carefully and see if you can find the food that's causing this reaction and then eliminate it from your diet.

I love to freeze almonds and eat them out of the freezer. I let them warm up a bit before starting to bite into them. Makes one almond last as long as 5 unfrozen ones! Also love to just take a tablespoon of peanut butter and savour it slowly. Takes at least 5 minutes and totally satisfies cravings.

                        Re: Aaauuuggghhh!!!

Today I was a good girl! I went to the store before I came home and got some food. I cut some grass when I got here, then did the 20 minute Turbo Jam.

Then I made that cheeseburger broccoli casserole from Linda's site - awesome! Even my mil liked it! Then I made one of those minute muffins for dessert. Couldn't eat it all, so I left half for breakfast in the morning. (I am soooo tired of eggs and bacon.) I found I like it better with cream cheese than with butter. I also got two more meals saved up from the casserole, so I can take them to lunch this week at school.

Still thinking about bad food, but I'm not as in the dumps as I was, so that's a very good thing. I think the exercise helped. I haven't been able to get my lunchtime walks in at school because we've been testing for over a week. Will just need to make sure I get exercise in as soon as I get home!

Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone!

Great job Cheri.. I will check that casserole out.. anything my family will love and I can eat is great..

The other day I fixed them Spaghetti Squash with hamburger and Spagehtti sauce and mixed it really good and put cheese on top and baked it.. My family was pigging out.. I was afraid they weren't going to leave me leftovers...lol

I fixed the muffin yesterday morning and had an egg sandwich.. I felt like I was cheating...lol
