  • starting tommorrow, May 21sT! wanna join?

    Well i was on atkins 4 days thinking that i could still drink diet sodas (with asperatame)...big no no...caused MAJOR cravings for sweets which i never thought was the cause for my cravings but now know that it is a big factor in them! anyways, starting over and starting right tommorrow so anyone who wants to start with me feel free! let me know and we can do this together! i am aiming at 140lbs for my target weight but my first mini goal is to get down to 165! good luck to all who join with me!!!!

    Start date: May 28th
    SW: 175 GW: 140 CHeight: 5'7 CHips: 42 CThighs: 25
    June 11th: goal =169 MET GOAL, JUNE 3RD (16
    June 25th: goal=165 MET GOAL JUNE 10TH!!
    July 2nd: goal=160
    July 16th: goal=155
    July 30th: goal=150
    August 13th: goal= 145 and 15 inches lost
    August 30th: PT test/Weigh in for the Naval Academy!!!
    Inches lost since May 28th: 2.5 Thighs, 1 hips, 2 waist

    I'm starting tomorrow, too! I'm a DC addict w/ aspartame and tomorrow, I give it up.

      Tomorrow will be day three, so is that close enough to join you !!?? I am very happy to be back and like you am trying to watch the diet soda and up the water intake !!

        I (re)started on the 15th after a little more than 3 years since I strayed from the ANA path. This is the first legit induction (read - clean) I've done since I deciding to go back to Atkins to lose the regained weight last Sept. Unfortunately, I've be a Very Bad Fetch and went over 20 grams of CHO the last two days because of Orbit Cinnamint gum. I still get cravings from quitting tobacco last July, and that is my "fix". HOWEVER, *ahem*, six or more sticks (hence 6 or more CHOs counted) in a couple hours proves a braintrust I am not.

        Anywise, along with making chocolate bark out of cocoa powder, AS, and coconut oil (made me keep looking for food to eat) say goodbye to my leetle friend gum until at least induction is over. Unless it comes down to either a stick or contemplating a run to the C-store - then it will be back to the gum. Plan on giving the gum to someone to keep me from experiencing a lapse due to willpower (lack thereof) alone.

        Since I know there's power in these here support boards (how I quit tobacco), I will post up in the hopes the thread survives and thrives. Looking forward to posting at least once a day to pledge "no carbs today (over 20 g, that is)". One day at a time. One day at a time.

        The cool thing about this all, AK1204, is we're the same height and almost the same goals. I started at 188 - currently 184 - goal 138. I won't have any mini-goals until I see what my initial 14 days of weight loss tally to be.

        I found this board purely out of luck and am thrilled there is a section just for us second-timers. I've read ALCF on a regular basis since Sept and use the weight/measurement tools over there but have not actively posted (Ilurk).

          Hi! Am also starting today (21st) and also, we have really similar stats - am 5'8 and trying to get to about 140 from the 170 mark (and also I understand the troubles with aspartame etc!!) so it would be great to have an Atkins buddy for support and advice if you're interested?

            well, today is around our first days, hope everyone is doing well. I decided to carb it up last night and have my "last meals" for carbs...my choice besides all of the other carbs i ate yesterday...mcdonalds...dumb choice...anyways, today feeling fat as ever but my first meal of the day was tuna with mayo and the book says that the first step is to eat so i am definetely jumping headfirst into this, scared scared scared but i guess i gotta have faith!!!

              Hi, I wanted to check on everyone and see how you all are doing so far. I am at day seven tomorrow cheat free and very happy about that !!

                  hello all! am one of the said 'newbies', on day 5 and doing well, am in ketosis and have lost 13" (haven't weighed self yet - am going to wait until 1 week).

                  only problem I've had today is that I forgot my lunch and went 8 hours without eating, which meant that I cooked a bit more than I should have for dinner, but I left some on the plate (which I wouldn't have ordinarily!) - other than that all good!

                  How are other newbs doin?

                    Can I join the party? I started back on Wednesday after a two week birthday / work deadline cheat. I hate to call it re-starting cuz I lose so slowly that it's almost like maintaining. My goal this time is to find what causes the slowness and stalls. Yeah, diet cola is one. I use Pepsi One which has Splenda, but they say the caffeine and carbonation are a big part of the problem.

                    I'm not in ketosis yet - expect to be by tomorrow. I just stocked up on meats and cream, although I'm thinking maybe I have to cut the fats this time around .

                    Mini-goal is down to pre-cheat, 150. Then I can get my rings off to clean them. The real goal is to get close to the 127 I hit a couple years ago. I looked and felt SOOO good! People did not recognize me! By close, I mean in the 130's.

                      I finished my first cheat free week today and I am happy. Lost a total of 2.5 pounds, which could have been better but that is fine. If i can keep that up it is ten pounds a month and that is not too shabby at all !!
                      Looking forward to starting week two tomorrow.
