    Re: Saturday....Roll Call

I too am in Canada, so it isn't too warm today. It isn't bad, 17°C/63°F, but I wouldn't call it nice out.

I re-started Atkins on Thursday, and after two days of induction I am down 5lbs! I'm very excited, even though I know it is water weight, it's still pounds! I must say that reading about all of the accomplishments of everybody on this board has been very inspiring, I'm glad to be back!

Good day everyone! Julie, your parents are going to be so surprised, and proud of you! Be sure to tell us their reactions!

Congrats Speedyturtle for making one of your goals! Way to go!

My thermostat says 85 here, but it feels more like 95. It's always so hot here, the summers are brutal. I first turned my air-conditioner on in Feb.! When we first moved here I thought I was going to DIE with the heat, but now I'm used to it. I only miss the snow at Christmas. I don't miss the shoveling, the getting stuck, the dirty sloppy mess it becomes after a few weeks. There's advantages and disadvantages to everything I guess.

Well, I'm off to get my walk in and run errands, and pay bills too, Sandy. I don't like that job either. I have a graduation to go to tonight, big celebrations after. Hello to all you newbies! to ya all and take care today.

Mickkey - That's true! The thing I love about my area of VA is that we get a little bit of everything. We are in the foothills of the Shenandoah Mountains so we get beautiful fall leaves and we get gorgeous spring flowers. We do get snow, but don't get a ton. We get enough where it looks very pretty, but we rarely have to shovel anything. I think the last really big snow was the blizzard of '93. The rest have all been below 10 inches and most are about 2-5 inches or so. The summers don't let up much, though. The heat and humidity are terrible. BUT we are protected by the mountains so we don't get many of the terrible thunderstorms and tornadoes that the counties around us get.

Cheri, I hear the Shenandoah mountain valley is absolutely beautiful! I've ALWAYS wanted to see that area. I bet fall there is gorgeous. You're so lucky to live there. I do know about humidity... it's rough. You'll have to post some pics of that area sometime if you can. Would love to see it.
