Ok ladies...anyone ever taken Provera? My DR gave me a script because I have endometriosis and my uterus needs to be cleaned. He said it was basically like a D and C but its done with pills. I have to take them for 10 days and then I get a ( for lack of better word ) wooshie...not a fun one though. Im really sorry if this is TMI but Im slightly concerned about the hormones making me hungry/gain weight. Im ready to fight the battle and stick with this but kinda scared at the same time.

I have nothing...I don't know what a wooshie is and I've never taken provera...BUT, I can be here to listen and support you. I hope you are able to continue to progress with your new plunge into atkins...just remember that it's all about progress, not perfection, and challenges are a part of it...i encourage you to keep your eyes on the prize and know that you can and will be successful...no matter what! let me know how I can support you!jen

Hi there,
Sorry about the endometriosis, that can be painful!! Don't worry, whatever side effects you may experience from the Provera should go away once your 'whooshie' occurs. Most commonly seen side effects are very similar to an extended PMS....you very well may be hungry, bloated, trouble sleeping, headache, breast tenderness, and very frequently women experience a little nausea as well. Just hang in there, do everything you would normally do for your PMS...continue to exercise, drink lots of water to counteract bloating, Iyou might get bloated anyway, but it will resolve with the whooshie) etc. You WILL get through the next 10 days, and once you get your period all those things should cease like it usually would. Just stay strong and focus on the fact that in 10 days it will be done with. And, you might be the lucky duck that experiences little or none of these symptoms.HW223/CW150?/GW135

Thanks ladies!! I felt kinda silly after posting that..." why would I post that here?! " But you guys are great! Thank you for your support. I dont get a whole lot of that from my fiance but half of it is my fault, I dont explain things to him, I tend to keep a lot of it in.
I went for my 2 mile walk last night and that helped out a lot with the cramps and so does the water...those are my two big goals for the day! Thanks again!!

I think it was a great question and I am glad you asked... we all learn alot from each other! I hope you feel better soon, it will probably be a long 10 days, but worth it in the end.
Hang in there!

It was definitely a good question and also good for YOU to be proactive. It is always easier deal with something when you know a little about what to expect. How is it going today?HW223/CW150?/GW135
