    a-woo-hoo! I must be getting up earlier, haven't been around to post roll-call yet!

    Good morning all! the sun is finally shining here in southern england, so I can go ride my new bike, ('Patrick') with my boyfriend.

    Am feeling like my clothes are a tad-bit looser, but am resisting measuring/weighing until monday.

    Also, am glad to say that I am cheat-free for 11 days (but I keep dreaming that I am tempted to cheat most nights!! Odd. But even in my sleep, I am currently saying no...! That must be good).

    Went for a meal with parents, boyf, and my two nephews yesterday and was good as gold: ordered a spring water to sip before my meal, and then a chicken caesar salad (hold the croutons, naturally) with a side of steamed broccoli, and I couldn't even finish the salad as I was full! This would NEVER have happened in the old days! Progress can be measured in many ways...

    Good morning!
    Carboholic, girl you sound like you are having an amazing time on Atkins. The energy the activity and the eating all thriving in...I can relate.

    Day 8 of re-induction! It's Thurs. my daughter's weigh day. She is in deep ketosis and I am in light or barely ketosis (I have no idea why) and today she gets up and weighs and measures...it's been a whole week of extra hard exercise and eating right. She has a brand new bathing suit hanging on her wall, where she can see it and focus on it every day...She gets it when 5lbs are gone!

    We are focused and working very very hard around here. Getting our lives somewhat settled after such a hard winter. Spring came and my mother passed and this has all left me hanging. But going back to induction, tho it's been a huge struggle, it's right where I needed to be. I was either going to trip over my eating and begin to loose control, or I was going to have to restructure and tighten everything up! Day 8 of tightened up living and I am doing so good on this more structured way.
    I know it will all pay off, regardless of how I feel, and I truly can't allow my feelings to rule because due to grieving, I am up and down all over the place with energy or without it, crying or dry eyed... I close my eyes and remember what I truly want. I want to be here in a year thriving....so, even tho these are darker days, my emotions are rolling here and there, I don't go by any of that, I TIP MY HEAD UP A LITTLE AND REMEMBER MY HIGHER GOALS, "BEING HERE IN A YEAR, THRIVING"...

      Hi Everyone!

      Carbaholic, the dream thing means that your subconscious is getting that you don't want carbs anymore!!! And to say "No," in the dream is great. In the drug addict world, I believe they refer to it as a "user's dream." Sign of recovery. But, I'm not a therapist, I just play one on TV. (just kidding)

      My last induction experience, I had a dream that I ate chocolate cake. I woke up thinking that I really had. Then, I was relieved that it was a dream and that ketosis was still my BFF. lol

      Keep the chin up Jessy girl! Good for you to focus on you and taking care of you!

      As for me, I signed up to run a Marathon in February. I'm going to running school with a professional trainer here locally. Big group of people and they put you in groups etc. I'm doing it to meet people (maybe even Mr. Hunky will appear) Hubba Hubba.
      And, of course to give me some accountability to exercise. Even if I'm walking the whole darn thing.

        Good Morning Everyone...

        Jess..Looking forward to your daughter's weigh in.. I am so proud of you for taking back control and taking care of yourself BEFORE you slip...

        Well yesterday I was a naughty girl.. I ate popcorn at the movie theater.. Why? Because I was really hungry.. I had lunch early like 11:30..and then my son had a 2pm appointment..and I ran home dropped him off and picked up my daughter and headed to town to meet her boyfriend for a 4:45 movie.. I didn't have time to grab anything to eat... We watched Pirates of the Carribean 3 (if you see it stay after the credits..its important) Its a 2 hour and 45 minute movie...

        But I don't let a slip up set me off.. We went to Golden Corral afterwards and I had Steak with Onions and Peppers, Cabbage and Green Beans...

        Today is a STAY HOME DAY! I need those occassionally well its not a stay all day cause there are night activities...

          Jess, only two months? Wow! Look at how much you've accomplished!

          Carbaholic, where in England are you? We'll be visiting there this summer. Any low carb tips?

          Glad everyone is pretty much staying on track. I haven't brought lunch to work this week and have been buying cobb salads. Really gotta stop that. I just can't seem to get to the grocery store.

            Good morning, everyone! It's going to be a very warm day today. Today is ice cream day at school. Normally, kids get ice cream from the cafeteria on their birthdays. But we haven't had ice cream all year. So the principal decided to order ice cream for everyone today so every child got ice cream for their birthday. I brought some induction friendly chocolate mousse today so I can join in without cheating!!!

            Sandy - Get up, dust yourself off. We know you can do it!!!

              Good morning, everyone. You all seem to be doing great.

              I'm only on day 5 of Induction but hanging in there. The hardest part for me is getting the water in. Plus staying away from all the stuff my co-workers like to get. Tim Horton's Ice Caps or Timbits are favourites around here. I looked up the small Ice Cappuchino (sp?) and it had 46 carbs and 240 calories so that made it easy to say no.

                Happy Thursday to everyone from beautiful South Carolina!

                I always hated the humidity of the south, but since I restarted atkins, its been my friend. I makes you wanna drink water and as I've mentioned water has not been my friend. I set a goal for myself to drink 85 ounces of water a day and yesterday I reached that goal for the 1st time. I think I went to the potty at least 40 times..lol. I am a serious coffee addict, but I gave that up 2 days ago along with the diet crystal light to see if it was hindering my progress. I weigh again on Sunday, so hopefully all this water has helped some. I hope everyone is doing well and has an excellent low carb day!

                  Morning all - or afternoon to anyone in Uk and Ireland, like myself!

                  In the office today and happy to report that I walked away from the sausage sandwiches and cream cakes that were brought in for all and sundry today.
                  I'm happily sipping water.....

                  Need to get some exercise in this week - its been a bad one for me so far.

                    I'm feeling ridiculously cheerful for some reason this morning. I also seem to having my first hot flash, so perhaps I'm just a bundle of hormones....I don't know.

                    Carbaholic, that was a great starter for this morning! "Progress can be measured in many ways...". That's an awesome statement.

                    Sandy, I was thinking, "oh good, she's staying home and has a day off the hamster wheel", and then you write there's night-time activities! No wonder your clothes are falling off you....you're just go, go, go.

                    Jess...hang in there. Hope ketosis kicks back in for you. Can't wait to read that your daughter gets to take her swim suit off the wall!

                    Buffy..how lucky are you to be working with a professional trainer? What a great opportunity. You need a countdown ticker to your marathon date!

                    Sheepie...I'm right there with you on the cobb salad all week. I've been doing the same thing! I love them though.

                    obkbbby...planning ahead makes all the difference in the world doesn't it?

                    H&PG...Life without Timmies is brutal! But, I just emailed them on what the carb count is in a large double double and it's 26. Kind of disgusting. I can't believe the ice cap is 46! Yuck! Water with a slice of lemon looks pretty good now!

                    msmichelle...even if at the end of the week your scale tells you nothing has changed, don't worry...the inches will come off and the scale will catch up.

                    I gotta get ready for work...you guys are wonderful people....thanks for being here every morning!

                      Hello All,

                      Hot here too. I love summer but the beach is the only place I enjoy heat like this! 2 weeks and 2 days until we will be in the OuterBanks. CAN'T wait!

                      Sandy, sorry about the slip but at least now I know you are human. My slip was this past weekend. Stinks but getting up and dusting off is the best thing we can do.
                      I am not going to make my mini goal for vacation, but I have to let that go and not let it bother me.

                        YAY everyone is doing SO WELL!!

                        I am getting my water in, and sticking to plan, it's so easy now! Wearing a new outfit today and I actually LIKE THE WAY I LOOK IN IT - that is the greatest reward I tell ya! I have some things to return at the mall today and packed some nuts in my purse in case I get hungry. I can't trust myself with mall food just yet so better safe than sorry.

                          Good morning everyone!!! Im doing much better today. My headache is gone, no more upset stomach...Ahhhhh flu is OVER!! I woke up this morning and I actually had to force myself to eat breakfast...I didnt eat much, 2 slices of bacon, 1 boiled egg, and a few small slices of tomato plus my coffee w/half and half and get this NO SPLENDA!! Yay!! I refuse to buy it during induction, I always go over my 3 a day. I thinks its helping me because I have not had one single craving for sweet yet, which is very odd for me!

                          Jess youre such a trooper. Im proud that you got right back on!! And Im glad to see everyone else is doing well. Sandy dont worry about the popcorn, just tell yourself it could have been worse!!

                            Hi everyone it's been a few days since I checked in but I'm still on track - yay! Sunday night I went walking and last night I did an ab workout. Also, I'm cheat free for 3 days. Monday my son really wanted brownies so I had him make them (he's 9) and I supervised and then had him fill the bowls etc. with soapy water so I wouldn't be tempted to lick the bowl. Anyway did really well & didn't touch them but had to work at home the next day and wasn't sure if I could resist the urge - so I had him hide them before he left for school. I stayed in the kitchen & closed my eyes & ears and it worked great! I'm definately going to do this little trick again!

                              Morning everyone

                              I'm feeling a bit more "up" today. Yesterday was a down day for some reason...well probably for lots...the weather is crappy here and another day of gloom and rain ahead. Friday and right thru to early next week its supposed to be warm and sunny though so I can get back outside.

                              MG...I have had my first hot flash this week also. I keep asking my daughter, "Isn't it hot in here"...and it isn't...and I have the window open! Crazy hormones I tell ya! Thats another reason I suspect my moods are all over the place. Oh well, life as a woman...hehehe.

                              Everyone seems to be doing really well. We are all just human and do our best. Sure there are little slip ups now and again but everyone has the right attitude about just getting up, dusting off and rejoining the journey. Way to go!

                              Going to try out my weight lifting dvd today. Looking forward to that!

                              Have a good legal day everyone. One of these days I will post early enough to acknowledge what everyone has said...lol. Until then...thanks everyone for your continuing support...I don't know what I would do without you!
