  • having a bit of ...trouble...taskete! (help!)

when i first restarted this i was 237..
today the scale read 241....and i know it's my fault xD
in the past couple of days i've had 2 or 3 cookies and yesterday i had to regular sunkists and a diet sunkist.....

it's like i crave for stuff i didn't really care for before...e.e how do i stop this? The other day i started taking Super B-complex tabs and today i even have my liter bottle of water that i'm sipping on...

how do you over come this? The first time it seemed a lot easier, then again, the first timei was in a dorm room in which there was hardly anything to run and grab i guess =/ I can't throw out everyone else's food either because we're cheap and can't afford to just throw things out. I really really really REALLY want to get back on track though ... and back into my favorite clothes from back in the day

    heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp D:
When I was 18 I started out at 250+ pounds and embarked on the atkins diet..
I'm back at 250 and am ready to go again and KEEP it off this time.

    ((hugs))

I know you'll get some great responses, but I just wanted to say I've been in your shoes when it comes to giving in to cravings. But it's emotional attachement that we need to fight. It seems so easy, and yet actually doing it is a challenge. It's not easy to walk away from foods and fight the emotional battle, and yet when you find your determination from within you just do it. You do it because you're tired of being tired all the time, and tired of living a life that is not healthy. It's all about baby steps to get through each hour and day.

Hang tough and strive for your goals! Get out and walk if you can the next time the cravings call

Ps....make sure your watching your salt intake, drinking your water, and exercising. Oh, and ditch the scale for awhile and enjoy the tape measure

I really think it's all about your frame of mind. The very first time I did Atkins and lost all my weight, I was just SO completely focused on it. Not a grain of sugar passed my lips and I had no desire to eat it - so strong was my motivation to lose the weight. I had another baby after reaching goal and of course gained my weight back and MORE. I tried about FIVE times after having the baby to restart. The longest I ever made it was 3 weeks and that was including several cheats.

This time is like the first time. I'm just determined to get there. I have no desire for sugar. I cut out ALL sweet things for almost the entire two weeks, only at the very end did I allow myself to make the induction friendly mini pumpkin cheesecakes. I really think that helped, because I learned to do without sugary treats and that "reward" of dessert daily. Now I have something for dessert about every other day but I rarely find myself craving it.

I cheated once and ate three slices of pizza, and was so sick an hour later. I just don't want to feel that way. I know it's hard to have all that temptation around. I have a husband and three little kids who eat pasta, milk, bread, and sweets all the time and I definitely can't throw it out. Kids need carbs so that isn't an option for me either.

You just have to WANT to lose the weight more than wanting that sugar. Hugs to you and I really hope you get there, I know it's hard when your mind isn't 100% - trust me!

I agree with skinnymom, it is a frame of mind. You have to want to do this and have to be willing to do what ever it takes to get through each day. I had a lemon cake made by one of the kids and it sat out on the counter and my husband finally said, would you please cover that with foil and put it somewhere, so I did, and we both were happier but neither of us so much as tasted a crumb.
I would say, pick something in your life that you are happy with, that you do good at whether it be your job or parenting or just being an honest law abiding citizen. YOu can see that there are things you can do successfully and you would not think of going those things any differantly. You have to look at food the same way. Make your choices and make peace with it. DECIDE that you will not eat those things, no matter what, and don't. Be sure to have a ton of low carb stuff made up, eggs boiled, meat cooked , cheese sliced up , what ever you love that is low carb. If you have easy food to grab, it will help so much. Have a couple of boiled eggs that you make into deviled eggs, it is really hard to feel deprived eating deviled eggs lol !!
If having cravings badly, go brush your teeth and tonque with plenty of tooth paste , or rinse your mouth with mouth wash, or eat a dill pickle, all of those will help you to not want something sweet.
You can do it, and every day you make it you will build on and it will make you stronger. I am learning daily. I have restarted so many times I have lost count, and I know what I do wrong now, and I am not doing those things this time around !!
Keep on going, you will get over the cravings, just give yourself a chance to get there !!!

i am going to chime in with agreeing with everyone too...and i also think it's about reevaluating the messages you are sending yourself through your self talk and actions. YOU ARE WORTH THIS!! i challenge you to not beat your self up and keep telling your self that you can and will beat this. eating well and losing weight is nurturing and healthy and being a true friend to your self...you deserve good things...you deserve to be at a healthy weight...you deserve to be the best person you can be...face your demons, and know that no matter what, i mean NO MATTER WHAT, you deserve to be happy. period. keep coming back. you can and will do this. we are all here for you.
