  • today is sucking for me!!!

    man today is sucking for me. i feel like a crack addict. i am like trying to sleep or drink water or do anything from going and buying ice cream and putting reeses in it...man...i will be pulling out my hair soon if i don't get that stuff...urrrrrhhhh...i feel like i am in a war with my good thoughts brain and bad thoughts brain!!! only a couple more hours of torture before i get to go to bed. i am on my 6th day...i thought my cravings were supposed to go away!!!

    Start date: May 28th
    SW: 175 GW: 140 CHeight: 5'7 CHips: 42 CThighs: 25
    June 11th: goal =169 MET GOAL, JUNE 3RD (16
    June 25th: goal=165 MET GOAL JUNE 10TH!!
    July 2nd: goal=160
    July 16th: goal=155
    July 30th: goal=150
    August 13th: goal= 145 and 15 inches lost
    August 30th: PT test/Weigh in for the Naval Academy!!!
    Inches lost since May 28th: 2.5 Thighs, 1 hips, 2 waist

    Sorry you are having such a bad day! This time around it took about a week for me to stop craving sugar and I really had to gut it out until then. It was really pretty tough, but during the second week I stopped all my cravings. I am now down 27 pounds (as of this morning, though tomorrow is my official weigh in day) and I am sooooo glad that I stuck it out!

    You can do it! Stick with it! It is so worth it in the end!

      hi alaska, sorry you're having such a frustrating craving day. i thought i was through the worst of it too, as today is my sixth day as well...but, alas, this is not the case. i went out to dinner tonight with a friend. we went to the outback steakhouse. i had a steak, green beans, and grilled onions. and it was all i could do to resist having a glass of red wine. i mean, seriously...i got through that and then the waitress kept talking about cheesecake...i thought i was going to scream! anyway, i made it and now am going to bed. tomorrow is my weigh and measure day...i kept thinking about that and it helped me make it through. here's to tomorrow being easy...and temptation free!

        good for you on the cheescake and wine! tommorrow i am going to weigh myself too and i broke down and measured tonight and i have lost a couple of inches. I MADE IT THROUGH THE WORST CRAVING DAY OF MY LIFE! I have never had such a horrible craving day. ALL DAY!!! I seriously almost gave in about every 2 minutes from 0530am to 8 pm!!! talk about a rough day...i felt like i have been through a marathon!!! anyways, congrats again and be sure to let me know how you weighed in!!!!!

          I think we all have days like that! The cravings during the first week were bad for me but after 2 weeks went by it got easier. And the longer you stay on the plan the easier it gets. So just hang in there! The cravings will pass and you will feel better when you dont give in!

            i'm not sure i should use the ketostix...i mean, i like them because they reinforce that i am actually in ketosis, and this also help me ward off cravings...but i measured my ketones as soon as i got home from dinner and nothing! i was neutral, after being moderate for days...so, i went to the outback page and everything i had, according to them, was legal. i'm guessing i must have eaten too many onions because i had a salad earlier...i don't know. anyway, i am proud of you for staying the course!! and then you were rewarded with inches lost!! that's great...i am hoping for the same result. i will let you know...again, i am REALLY PROUD OF YOU AND HAPPY FOR YOU for resisting those horrid temptations...it sucks to even have them! however, it's awesome to resist them and be rewarded! have a great night!

              you did it!! it is the end of the day now, and you did it!! hang in there. i am having a stay-in night to 'relax', but instead, i am starting to crave one of those mini quiches sitting in my fridge. legal, but no need to be eating at 10:30pm when i have already brushed teeth, etc. i am going to go to bed as well to put a stop to these cravingS!! let's check in tomorrow...harmony, ann, and alaska, GOOD LUCK with weighing in tomorrow!! i am going to hold off until day 14....but that doesn't mean i haven't been trying on my skinny jeans every morning to see how much better they are fitting !!!!

                I promise the cravings WILL get better! But every now and then, you are just blindsided with them. Like I have been lamenting in my journal, I have had the worst craving for chocolate chip cookies for a week!

                Just stick with it and it will pass, but I feel your pain!!

                  Great job making it through Alaska...you will be so proud of yourself when you wake up this morning.. I always say those cravings are like someone who drinks.. I have had a few really bad ones.. I have gone to bed at 8 and just read until I fall asleep.. Anything to win the battle!

                    Hey Alaska, girl you are amazing! Look at what you've done...You've made it through that day....A couple of ideas...How about some strenous exercise during the cravings? Exercise has a appitite surpressant when you've done it...
                    Have a sweet legal treat back up, maybe check out the splenda choch treats...I know that there was an old pro around here who would say, "if you have to eat, whatever you do DONT EAT SUGAR, eat this...and she pointed us towards a legal treat...
                    Treats are hard to handle when you are on the edge of loosing contol. I refused them, and just did other stuff, but since I've been indulging in treats, refusing them is not soooo easy now.
                    Good luck with today...remember goood exercise surpresses our appeitite....

                      thank you guys so much!!! yesterday was definetely the worst day ever. but today sure did pay off when i hopped on the scale and i had lost 7 pounds! i am excited but i keep saying to myself...i think that the scale is wrong...lol. anyways, thanks for all of those great tips and harmony, ann, and partytrouble...good luck today weighing in!!!!

                          hi alaska, i weighed in this morning and have lost 7 pounds also. i have not measured yet. i just got home from work so i am winding down...going to go for a walk with my dog. i'll check back in when i've measured. i am elated!!

                            WAY TO GO HARMONY!!! it feels great doesn't it? i keep thinking that it is wrong! lol...maybe the scale will be friendly next week on our 14th day and we will lose another 7 pounds!!! wouldn't that be great? I REALLY want to look good for my fiance when he comes home from iraq on August 27th. I have my clothes all picked out!!! They are tight fitting so as long as i make my goal weight i wont feel bad about myself! that would be awesome! anyways, keep up the good, no great, work!!! and partytrouble..good luck weighing in today!!!
