  • I'm a cow!

I started atkins again for the 999th time!!! I am now back to my starting weight and so miserable. I so want to stick to it. The last time I started I only made it 3 days. What the heck is wrong with me? I had a long talk with myself and discovered.....no one can lose this weight for me except MYSELF!!!!! I know I can do it. I have done very well in the past. I am going to do great this time...i have promised myself and my children that I am going to do this NOW!!!! I could really use all of your motivation and pep talks.

    Hi there & welcome back!

Awww don't call yourself mean names....a big part of this journey is going to be about learning to love yourself. Try and be positive about yourself and about this WOE. Hopefully, intime, it will become second nature to you!
Look forward to the future but do still take one day at a time.
Keep active on these boards and I'm sure you will overcome any sticky points you may reach.

    Good luck

      Re: I'm a cow!

i agree with not being mean to your self...nothing is wrong with you. we all get here in our own time...it's a journey to be embraced and reflected upon...you will do great this time, just keep your eyes on the prize and remember that you are worth it. i tried several times to come back, only to cave on the third day...then i stuck it out. i knew my pattern and i decided that i wanted success more than another failure...and apparently, i wanted the success more...now i am on day 8 of induction and down 7 pounds. you can do it! keep posting. we are all here for you! welcome!

One thing about Atkins is that we start from the inside and work our way out.

Hang tough. You can do it.

          Re: I'm a cow!

I understand your frustration. Positive self talks and affirmations are the key to getting to goal. Make a plan to include the steps that Dr. Atkins devised for you...A plan to succeed will keep you going in the right direction. What happened to make you quit the last few times? Writing it out and creating alternative things to do when obstacles and doubt arise is the best way to keep going.

The ADBB is filled with positive people who will help you. Get involved in the challenges, make friends and read all the positive information that is here to guide you. Don't give up on yourself, we are all in this together!

Don't worry, you can do it!! Your current weight is probably someone else's goal weight, and so on....it is not hopeless!! Hang in there and post frequently, and you will find such a supportive little community on this board that will help you along your journey. Good luck!

That's so true! I hadn't thought of that, but it's true, I will be delighted when I weigh 178lbs!

And cows are great! Steak, ribs, hamburger, cream, butter, cream. You could have called yourself a blob, but your subconscious is already thinking Atkins! LOL!

This is a great board. You'll find lots of support here. The thing that I like about this board in particular is that we've been around. We've been through the good times and the bad and we're pretty realistic. We know this way of eating works, but we also realize that slip-ups happen and we just have to dust ourselves off and keep going. Keep coming here and you'll do great!

                  hmf,

You're here and that's great. Just think, by next week this time you will have gotten past Day 3 and will be well on your way. You will be so proud and feel so good about yourself that you will not want to ruin the hard work you did to get yourself there. Take one day at a time and keep your eyes on the prize... This is the place to find great support! Good Luck on Day 4, Day 5, Day 6 and so on.................

That's exactly what happens to me. Sometimes it's only one day, sometimes I might make it to four. I've found out that if I plan before hand what I'll eat it, including snacks, it's a lot easier to hang in there.
