  • I am such a weenie!

    ...because I realized the big day of my weigh in, day 14 of Induction, falls the day before my TOM arrives! I ALWAYS gain at least 5 pounds of water just beforehand, no matter WHAT.

    So I am being wimpy and don't want to get NEAR a scale until after my TOM. Is this OCD or normal???

    Hi,
    no you are not ocd, lo , most people feel the way you do that time of the month, that is why I average. I weigh every day and do that for three weeks, which will be tomorrow for me and my hubby.
    At that point I add up each weeks seven weights, divide by seven and get my average for that week and subtract them from each other, it gives me my average loss for each week and you will see over time your own personal patterns. After the first three, I do the averaing every week and subtract it from last week, you really need three to get it started right. I had not lost in a few days this past week and when TOM started unexpectedly a few days early, I knew why, and then I started dropping again. I am looking forward to averaging as that helps me on the slower weeks. Many people weighing once a week weigh on a low day week one, and a high day on week two, think they gained and give up when if they had averaged, my have seen a pattern and know from the other weights that week that they are losing. I also know when the scale jumps up for a few days, a whoosh is not far behind, you do learn how your body works doing it that way !!
    Just another way to look at it, it may not work for you, but I love doing the scales that way !!!

      I don't blame you.. But there are people that lose around Tom too.. Not me of course..lol

        Mine is now and no way am I going near the scale either LOL yesterday I felt HUGE. I'm still bloated today but I can tell it's getting better. I have been weighing a couple times a week but have stayed off it all week knowing it would be a bloat week.

          I hate TOM. It makes me want to scream out, "DIE VAGINA, DIE OR I'LL CUT JOO!" Pain medicene does absolutely nothing to me and I get horrible PMS. My boyfriend likes to call it, "Prehistoric Monster Syndrome" because I get so over-emotional (in the negative way) and begin taking everything the wrong way with a topping of over-reactions.

          Me personally, I don't have a scale =( I gotta wait til I go back to college to see my moment of truth!

            LOL!! Everyone with a vagina feels like that! Look on the bright side, maybe you will lose even during TOM. I usually don't notice a huge difference one way or the other.

              hey party trouble..TOM actually just came to visit me so i am scared too seeing as our big weigh in is supposed to be monday morning! i don't know if i should or not but i really need to see if the diet cokes i drank this week has affected me...i was a bad girl and drank some...oops.

              Start date: May 28th
              SW: 175 GW: 140 CHeight: 5'7 CHips: 42 CThighs: 25
              June 11th: goal =169 MET GOAL, JUNE 3RD (16
              June 25th: goal=165 MET GOAL JUNE 10TH!!
              July 2nd: goal=160

              August 13th: goal= 145 and 15 inches lost
              August 30th: PT test/Weigh in for the Naval Academy!!!

                hey party trouble, i think it's totally OCD!!! just kidding! i, too, hate weighing around that time. my pattern is to gain 5, yes, 5 pounds and i have my whole life. b/c i know what the number on the scale does to me, i wouldn't weigh either...it's not going to hurt to wait until you feel better to weigh...hey! some might say that's taking care of yourself!

                alaska, i too love the diet sodas...i am getting my water in (finally) but i still drink sodas too. not everyday, but enough! and, i don't care. i don't consider it a cheat, i haven't noticed it hurting me, so i'm not going to get into the "beating myself up space" about it either. but, again, that's just me.

                ok, i'm REALLY leaving for work now...have a great friday everyone!

                  thanks guys! yes, i am going to hold off until thursday or so to do the big post induction weigh in. i love diet sodas too, and they never seemed to hurt me in teh past. however, i am trying to do a 'clean' induction, so i am holding off until next week!

                    I would stay off the scale (which is what I do since I put on a good 3-5 pounds before TOM). You'll feel that much more excited when you get on and see your spectacular results!!
