AHem. 2nd day of no dairy and no pickled/smoked items. 2nd day of probiotics. A weight loss of 3lbs. registered AT NIGHT! I think I found the culprit. I can't find ANYTHING to eat, but, I'm not hungry and it must be working!!! Woo hoo!!! THANK you ALL!! I would have switched to a different diet and been miserably hungry and quit within a few weeks!

Thank you Floydgirl!! It's CRAZY..... I was so patient for 30 days with virtually no loss and now.... !!! I'm down 6 now as of this morning and technically 9 because the scale last week said I went up over my starting weight! Amazing. This is the 3rd day only on probiotics and no dairy. I leave on vacation Friday night and can't wait---excited to see all of the things to see in DC....

Happy vacation Floydgirl and thank you Baarb! I can't help but feel like I wasted time though being so patient. Oh well. I'm not in a huge hurry--ultimate goal is to be ideal weight by my older son's graduation from high school (09). I've got time to get there but, faster is always nicer!

I had to skip over the later posts, they were making my stomach roll... So I don't know if this was brought up...

I'm going through situations with my thyroid and have learned there may be similar symptoms between a thyroid that is off and depression. Have you had your thyroid checked lately? If it's slow, that'll slow your weight loss. And could be a cause of the depression symptoms (unless you know what started the depression originally.) You may be able to take care of a few birds with one stone if your thyroid needs attention.

I've had the generic skimming the surface thyroid check--I'm told that there are more in depth ones. I've always had problems with depression so there wasn't any "thing" that has caused it (emotionally anyway). I've tried to press for a more thorough thyroid examination because I thought it might be an "easy fix" but, I'm not getting anywhere because the initial one said it was okay. Thanks for the idea and input. I may still try--I'm the one who figured out I was diabetic--not my doctor!

LOL!! Yeah, some of the comments were about to make me hurl... ack! LOL (My stomach has been really week for a while now...)

Anyway, goggle "hypothyroidism" and see if there are other symptoms that you may have. It may give you more ammo in making the doctor listen more closely.
