  • Monday morning Roll Call

Good morning it's monday June 18th.
I've been coming here for 11 months, in the morning, checking in right here most days. It's a routine now, I wake up early, give myself time here to focus and go out and live my lifestyle. People often stop me and ask about what I've done to loose weight, and I smile and say "eat right, exercise and drink alot of water every day"...
It's in the daily that we build the lifestyle we can take anywhere. I mean, no matter where I go, I know how to eat now, I know when to get up to get a run or bike ride in, and I know how to drink alot of water. I can take this lifestyle to Florida on vacation or keep it here in a hot boring summer mode. Basics don't change. Basics keep me on the right path.
In less than a month we run the Peachtree Road Race, I've been upping my running milage in preparation for that, so I am off to run 4 miles today. Just another day doing basics!

Good Morning Jess... I can't wait until my feet let me even walk 4 miles.. that would be so wonderful... Yesterday at our Father's Day cookout there was a chocolate pie and a cheesecake pizza.. Oh I was fighting the urge so bad.. But I kept telling myself.. You have Legal Cheesecake in the fridge..Hang in there and you can have a piece when you get home... I made it I was cheat free all day yesterday.. So now I think I am on the road again

I have put the Y on my calendar for this week too...just like an appointment..

Hellleeeoooowww everyone!! As in the words of Mrs. Doubtfire!

Wow, Jess you are so right about taking the lifestyle with you. What powerful thought for today!

I had some wine on Saturday night which led to ice cream. But, ya know, all it was good and I craved a little yesterday. All it did is reinforce that I run more efficiently on DANDR. That sugar just messes with my head. I just want more and more and more. It's never enough.

So, today, I'm looking forward to my Jicama, etc.

It's going to be an awesome day!

            Morning

Weigh in day... I'm actually up .2, I learned that eating out isn't a great idea for me. I'm pretty sure that one of the 3 meals that I ate out this week is the reason for no loss. Oh well, what's done is done - pick myself up and dust off - prepare for a good week!

Good morning all. I think a few of us had a bit too much alcohol this weekend! I was pretty good. I had 3 glasses of wine and about 1.5oz of almonds, so not too bad. The problem is that I feel very out of control with the almonds! It's like I need Almonds Anonymous or something. I'm surprised I didn't eat the whole can. I know, I shouldn't even buy them. Duh! I figured that out. I just can't seem to follow through. I guess it could be a lot worse, but I don't like the feeling of knowing that the food is winning.

Sandy, don't you walk around a lot at the water park? I bet you walk 3mi there.

              Happy day everyone.

Morning everyone, ok, got a little energy back, I must be doing it right now. I have lost the 2 pounds I gained plus 1. Just had to go back to induction for a few days. I feel so safe there. today is my long day, only 1 more month before I won't have those long Mondays anymore. Its going to be a good day today, am mentally prepared to keep on track, taking cream to the office so I won't be tempted by packed creamer. (not quite ready to give up coffee yet) maybe some day.

Good morning everybody. I hope you all had a great weekend.

Sheepie, anything on the nut rung gives me problems. Portion control is a huge problem for me with nuts. I am completely avoiding them for now.

                    Morning Everyone

Hope you all had a nice weeked. Seems a few of us indulged too much in the liquid beverage department , but what is done is done. Onward and downward!

Alcohol will be the least of my problems. I could care less if I ever had another drink. Occassionally I like a nice glass of wine with dinner, or maybe on a really hot day a cold beer, but definately not something I will miss if I don't have it.

I think I'll get some mileage on the treadmill this morning. Looks like chance of showers here.

The weekend here was alright...nothing special, spent lots of it cleaning, working, exercising, drinking lots of water and of course eating right.

Last night I REALLY felt like some chocolate, not sure why or what triggered it. I think I was hungry and there was talk of it earlier in the day and it stuck in my head. Luckily I had made a recipe of Doms Cheesecake on Friday, so I pulled a muffin cup full of that out of the fridge. It wasn't chocolate but it was good. Hey, I guess a person could turn that into chocolate cheesecake by just adding the unsweetened bakers cocoa....anyone tried that , if so, let me know how it turned out.

Take care everyone and have a good day.

                      Hi yall,

As far as being a little generous on the alcohol intake, the guilty party is here! No chance of me repeating that any time soon. It took the whole day for me to get over my headache plus my guilt....no fun and not worth it. As scooter says, lesson learned!

Jess, I ran the Peachtree every year I lived in Atlanta. So excited for you, that is going to be a blast! I loved the start right there between Lenox and Phipps, with everyone waving at you out their hotel room windows!!

Buff---thanks for all the support. Will be back on track with workout goals tonight.

Sandy--good for you on not caving at the BBQ!!! Does'nt it feel good???!!

Sheepie--I also canNOT eat almonds. I have no self control over them.

Strudel---I LOVE the idea of adding chocolate to the Dom's cheesecake!! I find the taste to be just a little splenda-heavy, but with less splenda not sweet enough...I wonder how the unsweetened chocolate would do in there?? Great idea!

I have a very busy clinic today, will be sure to eat and drink my water today! I find when I don't make time to eat, I end up RAVENOUS at the end of the day and want to put the first available thing I have in the fridge in my mouth, which is usually CHEESE. Bad news bears. So today I will EAT my lunch I brought in, no matter what.

Have wonderful days. Buffy, you are always so positive and it really shows through, by the way! Great start to the day! I love checking in here every morning!

                        Re: Monday morning Roll Call

Well good morning all. This is my very first post on the second time around forum.

I hope that everyone had a fantastic weekend. I always worry when the weekends roll around. I tend to get bored and then I just look for things to eat. I was pleasantly surprised this morning when I got on the scales and seen that I had actually lost more weight. YAY!

This will be week 2 of induction. And as someone else said, I feel safe when I’m here. It’s when you start adding a few carbs that I get worried and stress.

But for now I’m happy. I only have 20lbs to go before I reach my overall goal. Another 5lbs and I can say that I will be very comfortable in my skin again.

Keep up all the great work folks and have a wonderful Monday!

                          Good Morning, Everyone!

The start of another week... another opportunity to do the best that we can for ourselves.

It's great to hear from everyone. Mrs. D, welcome to STAC! These are a great bunch of people and you will fit right in.

Scooter! Yay! So wonderful to have your masculine presence around again. I've missed you.

Sheepie, I have just completed 2 weeks on the nut rung. I do go "nuts" over some kinds of nuts and know that I will have to totally avoid peanuts (really a legume, anyway) and cashews for sure! However, I have been able to tolerate pecans, walnuts, and almonds. I think the reason I have had success with these is because I mix them in something rather than eat them alone. For example, I mix them into my pumpkin whip or into my cottage cheese and it has been OK. Not going to try eating them by themselves, 'cause that could spell trouble.

Got 11.5 miles in on my bicycle this morning. Had to really talk myself into it... didn't wanna! Now that it is done, of course I am glad that I did it.

                          Let's all have a kick-a$$ Atkins day!
