Re: Monday Morning Rolling call, 6/25

I am so sorry for the losses that have befallen our friends. My sympathies are with you.

I feel like I had a pretty good weekend. I didn't eat any real illegal foods, but looking back I think I ate a little too much deli meat/pepperoni. I stuck to my 2 L of water a day -- even had my last one at 9 PM last night and was up almost all night -- but for some reason I am not looking forward to the scale.

Here's a STRANGE craving I had yesterday at the supermarket: MILK! I don't think I have ever wanted milk as much as I did yesterday! My cravings for sweets are decreasing. And I know what taking in sugar will do to me. I will never forget the Thanksgiving when I was on OWL, and I had a bunch of desserts at my aunt's house. We had to stop at every Starbucks on the way home (the only place besides a gas station that was open) for me to use the restroom. I was so incredibly sick that I think about that evening EVERY time I want a sweet. Is the five seconds of pleasure worth fifteen minutes in the bathroom? I think not!

So happy Monday, everyone, if there is such a thing. My best friend is coming in for a week this evening, and I am so excited!

OH! Another really good friend is having a baby next week - we expect! Any ideas on Induction-friendly foods I can make to bring to her that we can share?

Partytrouble - it all may come out a bit hard-nosed. I hope not, hope it shows my passion for all this and others' success with Atkins.

Skinnymom!!! I'm so glad you're back! I'm so sorry about your friend. I know you'll be there for her to help when she needs you.

Jess, you are so right. It may take some time and energy to plan this WOE, but it doesn't take near the time as so many diseases take. My blood sugar was climbing before, and my blood pressure. I figure I'm saving money buying good meats and vegetables over buying medicine and spending time with doctors.

Sandy, it's time to get yourself in line by kicking yourself in the rear until you straighten up! You can do this, you've done so well so far. Don't give up! Stay busy with the kids gone and look for new ways to exercise. Stay with us, girl!

Re: Monday Morning Rolling call, 6/25

I am back from vacation and back to work today. Blah. Too bad I don't have enough money to just keep travelling indefinitely... that would be great. I had a couple of cheats on my vacation, but I did not gain any weight. I am going back on induction for at least a week to get back on track. Surprisingly, even with my cheating, it has not been hard for me to get right back on Atkins. When I got back home yesterday I made a big pot of legal soup. I modified a recipe I found on Linda's site and I love this stuff -- I could (and have) eat(en) it three meals per day!

My brother's wedding was nice. He actually got married in February, but had the ceremony for family on June 16. His wife is now 15 weeks pregnant. This is great news for him, but still a little difficult for me to hear. Matthew and I have been together 9 years and are unable to have children. My brother knew his wife 9 MONTHS before she got pregnant. Maybe sticking to Atkins will help me overcome my infertility (PCOS), but it is hard to be patient...

Sorry to hear that some people have had some losses and struggles.

Sandy --- DO NOT GIVE UP!!! Try new recipes if you are getting bored. Add in some new foods, but stick with it. You can do it! Maybe we can do a two week induction together to get back on track?

                        Quick Hi everyone... I'm working...lol.
Having a very good Atkins' day... no cheats so far. I think I am back on track with my eating/cravings...
Getting over being mad at everyone at home, but keep reminding myself to not take negativity... and turn it around. We all need to work on ourselves and stop critisizing one another... the old saying 'when you point your finger at one person there are 3 pointing back at your self. Thanks Jess for your thoughts on diabetes. Yup! you are so right about that! Diabetes is soooo much work... and strokes are too. Glad I am on this WOE and growing and changing everyday. You guys are awesome. Will clean out my mailbox speedyturtle and drop you a line.

Re: Monday Morning Rolling call, 6/25

Hi everybody! I just got back from a weekend "trip." Actually, it was a professional conference/awards assembly and my boyfriend was up for an award.

We spent the last 3 days in Big Sky, MT...it was gorgeous! It was incredibly easy to stay on-plan. When we checked in and registered, I made sure to tell them I can't eat flour or sugar, so my meal was prepared without those things, and dessert was a huge plate of fruit (ooohhh it was so good!) instead of the chocolate concoction everyone else got. For my other meals, I ate lots of veggies, lots of fruit, and good proteins like prime rib, salmon, and chicken. I made sure to exercise and drink my water. I was able to keep track of my carb counts in a little notepad. Estimating counts of each food was super-easy because I've been using fitday since the dawn of time...so I know all of the numbers by heart. I made sure to eat when I was hungry, and I made sure to stay below my known carb limit each day.

So it can be done, a vacation without guilt or cheats! I also got in lots of exercise--walking, swimming, running, hiking, strength training.

It was so fun to be there, and now it's back to the real world. Sigh.

Hi all. Hope your Monday went well. I didn't get to post this morning..chasing kids and such. Day 3 on re-induction. Feeling pretty good. My legs hurt this evening..sometimes when I start losing fluid my legs hurt. Might need some potassium. Sorry to hear about the losses of some of you. I'll keep you in my prayers. Well, off to watch a little t.v. with hubby. So thirsty..drinkig gobs of water. Have a good evening all.

Oh, Don't know if anyone or their hubbies, sons etc..watch Wrestling but they had a pretty big tragedy. Chris Benoit and his wife and 7 yr old son were found dead in their home..Sorry for off topic but just thought somebody would want to know.

                            God bless

sandy, maybe you can take this time when you are alone to do nice things for yourself...bubble baths with relaxing music/magazine, put on scented lotion and nice pj's, read a book, do your nails, watch your favorite program, and make legal food that looks and sounds good to YOU AND ONLY YOU.
