      A New Definition of Committed

      Hey, Princess --

Hop back on board with me today. I've been jumping on and off for three weeks. Take a look at some of the before and after pics.

      That'll do it!

Someone's sig says something like, "A year from now you'll wish you'd started today."

      That rings true for me.

No matter how many times we take a detour, we can always find our way back to the road again. Think of how many times we've been lost, on our way somewhere. We eventually made it home, right?

I know that I'm committed by how many times I've failed. If I weren't committed, would I even have tried as many times as I have?

      Stay in touch.

              Re: Depressed

              Leah,

It is sooo important to get a clean 2 week induction under your belt. After the first week, things will get a lot easier. After 2 weeks, you've got it made!

I wouldn't weigh more often than once a week. If you can wait the full 2 weeks, that would be even better. That is just one head game you don't need right now, and it will make the loss a nice surprise. It also helps instill the idea that this is a lifestyle and not a diet. This is just the way we eat now.

I lost 5 pounds my first week of induction and 2 during the second week. Some may have been discouraged by the "low" number that I got during the second week, but that made a total of 7 pounds for the 2 weeks, which is perfectly acceptable and showed that I didn't have a high resistance to weight loss.

I am here to tell you that it can be done! I lost my way from Atkins for 2 years and gained back 32 of the 60 pounds I had lost previously. I restarted on February 25th of this year and as of last Sunday, I have re-lost those 32 pounds plus an extra one. I am doing better this time around, and I know that you will, too. Everytime you feel discouraged, come on over and reach out to us. We are all in this together.

              Best Wishes

                Re: Depressed

                Princess Leah,

You CAN do this. Set yourself some goals. Even a mini goal. Say 5 pounds. Write all these goals down on paper. Everytime you achieve a goal or a mini-goal cross it off. You get a lot of pleasure in marking things off a list. Heck sometimes I add things to my list that I’ve done, just so I can cross them off.

Post your picture on refrigerator at your heaviest weight. Put one on your mirror in the bathroom or bedroom. It’s a constant reminder to you of why you want to live this way and what you can do when you put your mind to it.

Try new recipes, don’t eat just eggs and such. Try different kinds of meat that you’ve never had before. Keep the plan exciting to you.

Plant an herb garden. Plant a tomato plant in a pot. Grow your own veggies. These are just little simple things you can do.

Keep telling yourself over and over that you want to succeed. Clean those cabinets out of all those bad things that you keep, they just make you want to have a taste.

Buy yourself a new low carb cookbook. Do things for you!

YOU CAN DO THIS! YOU WANT TO SUCCEED! WE HAVE FAITH IN YOU!

I totally agree! I could have just disappeared for a month while I was stuck on high-carb foods. But I didn't want to risk totally giving this place up all together. There's so much here that totally motivated me to fight and get back on Atkins, even when I couldn't.

Don't let go, PL. Find some little life-style change each day, even if it's something as simple as trying a new recipe, ingredient, workout equpment, whatever, each day. Make this your way of life in a way you don't even think twice about it anymore.

i'm jumping on the bandwagon too...and i also am going to encourage you to get started again right now...it's never too late to take care of your self...i, too, have lost my way and this board helps me every time...all of us are going to make mistakes, we just can't allow those mistakes to turn into permission to abandon our selves again. we are all worth it...including you!
