    Good Morning, STACers!

Wishing all a fabulous Sunday! The last day of vacation for me. Then, back to the routines and work.

    Getting myself right.

Yesterday, we ran 60 minutes at Marathon School. I'm sooo sore today. The informational portion was on nutrition and they were really talking about carbs and having 80% of your diet coming from carbs so your body can use it as energy.

So, my woe is different. I really need to do some research on this. Maybe the exercise forum can help. I'm concerned about this. Info is power though, I will just have to educate myself.

    Lots of water everybody!

    Rock on,

Did I tell you that my son is dealing with Hives too? Its been a fun week around here..lol Hubby took him to the doctor yesterday.. that itself is a MIRACLE!

    Have a great day!

      Re: Sunday Roll Call

Sandy, you've got to get back together, your body is not happy with things, if you are having IBS attacks....I know you can do this, and I think your body is going to convince you...You have to get it to the point where you can do Atkins day in day out! Work or vacation (did you see partytroubles news)...

Morning STACers, I am up and charging myself up this morning. Been thinking and dreaming about things I want to accomplish at this new level of my life. This is when i dream up some of my "bright ideas" like running the Peachtree 10k race...
It's just what I do! Now I am thinking about running 8 miles, something I've never done, and that's just so I can get to 10mi, which is like a DREAM....but hey that's what I'm doing dreaming! I also want to take a 25mi bike ride....again something I've never accomplished...These dreams propel me and make me want to achieve. With out them, I am going nowhere and I always need to be going somewhere.
Loosing weight, I can do my best, but my body runs that one....Running, i can pick and achieve. Ultimately I want to reach goal and earn the goalie sticker and reputation. Ultimately I want to finish what I started, and move to a whole new level of maintaining it for a year. That's a huge dream, to be here in another year, wearing those size 6 jeans each month..."the traveling pants dream"... My pants are going on the road, maybe to Jacksonville to a half marathon, maybe internationally who knows....
Where would WE BE WITHOUT A DREAM???????????

          Yay, Terry!!! That's awesome!

Good morning, all. I have a cold. Not feeling well at all. What's funny is that, before starting this WOL this cold would have felt like nothing because I always felt bad. But now that I am used to feeling so much better, I feel like I am being a big, whiny baby over a cold! I guess that's a good thing!

Sandy - hang in there, girl. You CAN do it! I know you can! Definitely take these five days to focus on YOU!

Jess - great message! Everyone needs a dream...

Hope all you STACers have a great day!!!!

            Good morning everyone,

Yesterday's "outlet" trip was a success. Didn't spend too much money, 15 YO didn't buy any "tight" clothing, and I didn't cheat. It was blazing hot out there, so i drank lots of water.

Sandy, I know you get back on the band wagon, just do it...do it today.....

Jess, I also have a goal of the size "6" traveling pants. I actually own a closet full of size 6 pants and dresses that i haven't touched in 2 years and 10 months. And thanks for the continuing positive messages every day, you really keep me motivated.

TMN...i wrote you in a different thread asking for you to share the whooshie fairy with me, i really need her/him i'm stuck at 160

LOL!! Isn't that the truth! We sure know how to forget the pain when it's gone! Summer colds totally bite! Hoping you feel better soon!

(A few years back, when I was in the middle of a bad cold, some of the gals harped at me, "You're not taking your Echinacea!" Never heard of it. Well, one of the gals was in remission from cancer and used Echinacea to keep her immune system strong. I started taking it and have had only two really serious bouts wtih the cold and flu since then. I used to get sick ALL the time...so in my mind, it's really helped.)

Good Morning STAC'rs!! Yesterday was day 14 on induction. I did my weigh in and am down almost 7 lbs. I feel good about that for hundredth restart in 2 yrs. J/K just feels like it. We are going boating today with my sister and her fiance'. It's gonna be hot so I am bringing plenty of water. Gonna grill some chicken and I will have salad too. I am so looking foward to the day I don't feel like a beached whale at the lake. I know it will come. I believe it.

Julie did you get your hair done?

Jess I am so proud of you and you inspire me so much. The thought of a marathon WOW. You go girl!!

Blazing, you and your daughter are gorgeous! That scale is gonna move anyday now.

Obk, I feel for you hun. I have been battling some kind of upper resp thing for the past 6 weeks. 2 rounds of antibiotics and I am just now starting to feel better. Still coughing though. Summer colds SUCK. It's hard to not be able to breathe but to be HOT and not be able to breathe really bites.

Everyone else I hope your Sunday is great!!

                God Bless you all

                  Re: Sunday Roll Call

                  Good morning yall!!!

Back from vacation, it feels so good to be checking in with you! Boy, did I miss being able to check in every morning with you guys....BUT, I sort of did a 'mental' check in each day when I woke up. I didn't realize how much it helps to check in with all of you and be inspired, congratulate each other, and also share our struggles and setbacks as well. I LOVE this board!

I read something while on vacation that really stuck with me. When you cheat and inevitably feel guilty and shamefulu, instead of saying 'jeez, look how I messed up', try saying 'i CHOSE to eat such and such'. It really turns it around and makes you feel more in control. When faced with an appetizer tray of fried oysters, I had to say 'I CHOOSE not to eat this' to myself and it gave me back so much control and made it doable!!

Like Jess, I want to get some long term goals in place. I seem to keep making small mini goals because they are doable, but it is time to make some goals I am really going to have to work toward. How was the PTree, Jess???? Like Buffy, I am training for a half marathon that is Labor Day Weekend, and potentially a full marathon in Jan/Feb. This is now going on my goals list!

tmn-- yay on the whooshie fairy!

Sandy--it is difficult to get back on plan in the middle of being stressed and working so much that you have no time to shop/prepare meals. Now that you have 5 days off in a row, go to the grocery FIRST THING in the morning and make that the top priority. Then start back on Induction and by the time the 5 days are up, I PROMISE you will have quelled most cravings and be feeling a TON better. Don't have a good bye carbs binge tonight, just do your planning for the next 5 days and focus on making them count. I know you can do this. You have already lost so much weight, just get back on the horse and keep going with your head held high.

Obkbby--hang in there. I saw one of your other posts that you are getting burned out, and I can relate in many ways. I am a pediatric bone marrow/stem cell transplant nurse practitioner, so I treat children suffering from cancer and other life threatening diseases who require bone marrow transplants. Working with children is tiring as it is, and any kind of special attention needed adds a certain level of dedication and with that often comes exhaustion. I applaud what you are doing and encourage you to hang in there...your aid will be here before you know it! My cousin is a special needs teacher and she was told not to go into that field b/c of the burnout rate. She has been doing it 3 years now.

Michele, you look FANTASTIC!!! way to go!!

Buffy look at posts by TT Driver, I got a lot of advice from her with what to substitute for carbs, etc when I ran my last half marathon. Tons of info. I have never been able to find a low carb electrolyte replacement drink, tho.

                  Morning Nichole!

Have a great day everyone, so glad to be back!!

                    Good morning everyone!

This will be a short post for me since we are scrambling this morning to get out the door to church. My exercise will have to wait until later this afternoon although all this running around trying to help my daughter find the "perfect" outfit to wear this morning feels like a marathon! 12 year old girls and clothes...someone please tell me it gets easier. I know it won't I remember being a teenager who am I kidding LOL.
Yesterday was great. I drank more water than I did the day before and today I hope to do better than yesterday.
Sandy it is great you have 5 days off now to get things together. You can do this, just make up your mind, put your head down and push through this rough patch you are having. We are all here for you.
Jess...I am dream'in of a size 6 too. Never been one before!
Terry...congrats, you gotta love that Whooshie Fairy. Please put in a good word for me.
OBK...hope you feel 100% better real soon. Colds are no fun.
Blaze...glad the shopping went great. I sympathize about the heat. I live in the California Desert area and we have had temps up to 111 where I live. YUCK.
Nichole....7lbs. that is awesome. Enjoy your boat trip today sounds like
you have everything planned out food wise. That is so smart. I have finally caught on to that idea. Planning ahead..who knew?
Party....WB from vacation. You are right about the feeling shameful and embarrassed when you blow your diet on vacation. I was in that spot last month. I blew it and boy did I beat myself up over it. This coming weekend I get a chance to test myself again as we will be gone for three days to a high school reunion. I know I can do it. This is my 6th day of induction and I don't want to mess up anymore.
Take care everyone...have a great day! See you tomorrow

Yes I got my hair cut! I love it...pics coming soon.

Buffy--you DON'T have to carb-load, no matter what the "experts" say. Head over to the Cool Running thread, or PM ttdriver, bigrunner, or richt. Betty has run countless races, and never carb-loaded. She's also posted in-depth about this before, so I know she'd be more than happy to give you some advice. BigRunner and Richt are also skilled and avid runners, and have lots of experience and knowledge up their sleeves!

Today I feel great--which is better than how I felt last night. I was playing fast and loose with my food expiration dates yesterday, and I ate some tofu that said it expired on 7/7/07. I guess I was feeling lucky. Well, not so much--I ended up feeling like I had food poisoning for most of the evening. But I got a good night's sleep, and am feeling fine.

Today is my rest day, but Geoff and I will be going for a long walk if it doesn't rain.

                      Have a great day, STACers!
