    Okay..its been ONE SUCKY DAY!

    Everything is going wrong.. My car overheated again...has a hole or something in a hose..will have to go in the shop.. I have too much to do to be carless. And on top of that I am suppose to go to Christiansburg next weekend.. UGH..

    Then I come home and my a/c was off! My circuit breaker clicked sometime today..it was 98 in here and the dog was panting like crazy.. Its finally cooling down in here...

    BUT..I had steak out on the counter for dinner..now I am not going to eat it...I am afraid its spoiled...

    You don't know how much I just want to go eat junk food!

    Don't eat it!

    I am SOOOOOOOOOO happy to see that you posted here first! That took some courage and some strength. Yeah, you WANT to eat junk food, but you DIDN'T. That right there, is a victory in itself.

    Will the junk food fix your car? Will the junk food fix the A/C? Will the junk food solve problems? NO, Sandy, it won't! Don't eat it!

    You have come a long way following Atkins, and it would be a shame to have 5 minutes of bliss (or supposed bliss) for a couple days' worth of agony. Take that frustration and anger and all of those overwhelming emotions and go for a walk, do an exercise DVD, do crunches, go to the gym.

    Life is always going to throw you curveballs, and you've got to accept that. It sucks! I know! I'm still without a car, 2 weeks after I hit that deer. But you know what I realized as I was REALLY in a horrible horrible bad mood that night of the accident? Eating bad food is NOT going to let me go back in time and avoid hitting that deer, it's just going to make me feel like $hit.

    So stay strong, you CAN do this.

      Hi Sandy....I am sending you a hug right now. Julirama has some good advice. I know it is real hard when you feel like you have a bullseye on your forehead, but Sandy these things like your car and your air conditioner you don't have any control over them. What you do have control over is what you put in your mouth. Stay strong Sandy....you can do it!

        plheh! I'd eat it! Some of your better steaks are "aged" anyway.

        If it was overnight, that'd be a whole different situation...

          I am proud of you Sandy..you didn't give in...see how strong you are! you know what they say about junk food...a minute on the lips, a lifetime on the hips...You have been too good to do this...stay strong! and listen to Julirama's advice...the junk wouldnt have solved your problem anyways...just made you feel worse...hugs!

              I didn't eat anything bad.. I ended up fixing me a Hotdog (I don't eat them often) and some Yellow Squash and Onions.... Still fighting the urges...but I know it won't make anything better....

                I'm late, but wanted to say, Good for you Sandy! Good for you for not eating junk. It wouldn't solve anything and now you have a bright spot in the day--you stuck to the plan and can feel good about it!

                  so sorry you had a bad day, but so proud of you for not giving in. we get tested in life all the time and you passed your test today with flying colors by not giving into temptation because of a rough day. good for you!

                      Sandy, GOOD FOR YOU for not eating the junk! You have taken a huge step closer to where you want to be.

                      Another thing that helped me when I used to envy the "junk" that others were eating...I used to make a list of the foods that I COULD have, that their "diets" would NEVER allow:

                      eggs
                      steak
                      REAL whipped cream
                      avocado
                      olive oil
                      full-fat cheese
                      pepperoni
                      salami
                      bacon cheeseburgers
                      mayonnaise
                      ranch dressing
                      bacon!!!!
                      butter
                      sour cream
                      olives...

                      The list goes on and on! And do you know another reason why we're lucky? If we're hungry, we get to eat! We don't have to stop at 1200 calories. If our bodies need fuel, we give it!

                      The next time a craving hits, think of all the things we CAN have on this WOL.

                            Of course I had a great blood pressure reading...and to myself I keep telling myself.. I am getting healthy and soon I will be more healthy...
