  • Wednesday Morning Roll Call

    Good morning, Good morning!! Another late night for me, had a cooking class tonight which is really inspiring me! One of the reasons I fell off the diet last time was because I am a terrible chef and I got bored with my simple food choices (hard boiled eggs, string cheese, and tuna salad gets old after a while....). So now one reason I am feeling so good about the WOE is actually COOKING a variety of meals!!!

    How about today we all kind of try to focus on how our new healthy bodies and eating habits can benefit OTHERS? For example, I find I now have VASTLY improved self esteem which allows me a much greater measure of patience and grace in most all of my daily interactions. I have more energy which allows me be active and do more for others. I have relieved some of the burden of that constant anxiety about my weight, which allows me to be more receptive to the needs and hurts of others. I am less preoccupied with myself and able to pay more attention to my family and friends and give back more to the world around me.

    I love this WOE, both for how it benefits me and how it helps me make a positive impact on those around me! Have a great day everyone, and remember we are all in this together and want to see EACH ONE of us succeed!

    I find this an incredible topic, how we are impacted emotionally as #1 we remove the sugars which cause alot of moodiness, fatigue and blood sugar issues and then we loose weight which in turn makes us so proud and happy of ourselves that we actually get up and shine! It's just such an amazing part of it all. Atkins and these foods we eat, release us to live life much more to the quality we would like to. Drives home the point so deeply in my personal life that I am deeply effected by sugars! Being off of them has truly changed everything in my life. No little pill for me, no little pill to feel good, no little pill to stop my appetite, no little pill that blocks the fat and gives me the runs....just controlled eating that makes us feel good, and really shine in our lives!
    Great revelation here this morning, PT...great stuff to ponder...

      Good Morning.. I am not feeling good right now.. I am still in the blahs...Between getting rid of the carbs that I binged on..and TOM.. I am about to explode.

      Today is the day my Life Insurance company is coming back out to do my vitals and get my weight...Yet they haven't called on my husbands with the bad lab work... It really ticks me off...

      And on top of that..the Insurance lady is coming out at 2.. for me to sign more paperwork to try to find a lower rate on different companies..WHY? Because my husband chews tobacco and his levels are higher then a smoker.. So the smoker rate at $92 a month is now $145!

      But....As usual I am the unhealthy one..GRRRRR Can you see this is a really big sore spot with me??

      Other than that.. I have made it through 2 days cheat free...

        Morning, I hope Mushroom Monteray Jack fajitas at Chilis are ok, they sure are yummy. I still feel in Ketosis. Have a day trip to Austin today going to pack a couple of snacks and hope it isn't all work talk, but it probably will be. Its all good. will check back later and read everyones pearls.

          Today was a slow start for me. But, I just had a chicken breast and put 2 T of Sour cream and awaaayy I go!

          I'm tired. No, not tired like snore city tired, I mean, I'm tired of going to my closet and seeing all of my really cool capri pants with halter tops. All of my really pretty bras (ok foundations if I want to be pc). You know the lacy ones, black, cream, white. The ones that hold the girls just right. Not the ones that I currently wear, ya know, the old over the shoulder boulder holder. Or, the ever so flattering aerobic bra to keep my uniboob in place.

          Ok, I'm trying to be funny, but, I am waging a war against my extra poundage. I've got my plan of action of exercise and my woe. My body will follow!

          I keep saying, I'm a marathon girl and marathon girls don't quit. Marathon girls take care of themselves.

            LOL! You goof! That got me chuckling here! I keep looking at my smaller clothes, too, although I'm not paying much attention to my bras... I'll get excited about them when I need smaller ones... Same with undies...
            I woke up late because I got to bed very late. Still waiting for that first hour to go by. Scale is still eeking downward so all I'm doing is good! Yesterday was a very blustery day, 40-mph winds. If it's anything like that today, no bikeride for me! The wind will push me backwards! It's also nice and cool out, my kind of weather! My yardwork needs to be done bady, I really should get out there today and work on that.

            Interesting post, PartyTrouble. Health problems can be a huge burden on a person and those that person is around. It sure will be nice to not be conscious of it the way I am and can focus on other people more. Just one more thing that'll be so freeing once the weight is off and good health is back. Hey, no question about working in the variety of foods! I've been making more of an effort where that goes, too. It's great having so much more to choose from. Interesting foods, too. Never tried some of this stuff and am surprised how easy and how good they are!

            ...grrr!... feet are itching in different spots. Sure hope I didn't get into some poison ivy the other day...

              Party, you are right about the improved self esteem.. About a month ago I was really down on myself, but I’ve come about ½ way back, still not all the way there.

              Jess, you are right about the “no pill” thing. I’ts awesome to know that we don’t need pills on this diet, and possibly for those who suffer from depression or anxiety, they may be able go pill less.

              Sandy, congrats on 2 days “no cheat”, I know the first 3 days are the hardest…hang in there and I wish you luck with your insurance.

              Speedy, if you do find out that the mushroom montery jack faj’s are legal, let me know, that’s one of my fav places to eat.

              Buffy, i’m with you girl, I too have closet trauma. LOL! I see so many little shirts and pants that call my name every morning. I went to Fashion Bug yesterday to buy new work shirts and saw so many cute things that only skinny people can wear, I got depressed and headed out of there quick….
              TMN, congrats on the scale going downward, that is so awesome.

              Tomorrow night I get to start exercizing again, so I’m exicted about it.

              Still weigh 159, waiting for the woosh fairy to come along….anyone seen her?

                Morning all! Just checking in before I head out for the day. That was a great starting post Party! Thank you. It is definitley something to think about.

                Sandy- I know it's hard and it seems as though the cards are stacked against you. Just know that you can do this and that we are all here for you. Visualize yourself at goal and think about how great your gonna feel and what a wonderful example you will be setting for your children. Your strong enough to get through this! Im rooting for ya!

                I actually went to the beach yesterday with my husband and some of our friends and swam! In a bathing suit! I cant even begin to tell you how great that felt. Swimming is one of my favorite things to do and I havent been in years because Im too embarassed to wear a bathing suit in public. We had a great time! Im so proud of myself!

                I hope everyone has a great day!

                  Remember to Focus, set goals, and keep on pushing on!!

                  I've had another 5 pound weight loss. Life is good. This is why we live this way each and every day.

                  Sandy - I don't understand the red tape stuff you've been put through. It's almost a slap in the face to have be dealing with it. You're a very stong willed person, you keep at it, karma, remember that, what comes around goes around, you doing really good, and I and your other STAC members have all the faith in the world in you. Congrats on your 2 day cheat free! I salute you!

                  Little goals are what it's all about. I always tell the new folks to set mini-goals, nothing like scratching an item off your list. Heck, add 'go swimming in a bathing suit' to your list, just so you can scratch it off. It's a good good feeling! Congrats, you should be proud.

                  Buffy - uniboob.....uh....not going to comment on that one. haha. Sounds like you've got a great plan set up for yourself. Excellent!!

                  Blazing - I'll send the whooshie fairy to you, she did her work here, I release her to you!! Good Luck!!

                  Party - I love to cook! Love it love it love it!! I am always on the look out for new stuff to try. You are 100% right, just need to set aside time and cook. I mean,lord, how many salads can you eat. I love spinach as much as the next person, but, dang. Oh look......that's nice.....Salad again. sigh!!

                    Good morning everyone. Great post and lots to think about. I'm not sure that I'm having a more positive impact on anyone, but maybe. I've been rather tired and moody this week, but I think it's because I miss being on vacation! After temps in the mid 90's, it's cooler and rainy here today, which is such a relief! I might not be able to go walking, but at least I should be more pleasant to be around when I'm not so hot.

                      The insurance guy just left..and are you ready for this.. Before Atkins my blood pressure was always 140/90.. I never head any complaints.. Last time they were here...it was 120/90 and this time It read 120/66... I so want to say... You are going against me cause I am over weight..but yet my husband who is skinny is a NOT healthy... GRRRR...

                        Morning everyone!

                        Just checkin in...another beautiful blue sky here on the prairies.

                        Getting company for the day and overnight so I need to get my butt busy and prepare for that.

                        Otherwise...down 1 lb and 6 inches since last week Wednesday. So, all is good!

                        Sandy...stay strong. Life is unfair for overweight people. Lots of stereo-types and misconceptions just on appearance alone. But believe you me I would take a blood pressure reading of 120/66 and look overweight than a bad blood pressure reading and look skinny any day. Health is where its at and the weight loss and inch loss will follow. Just stay on course. Congrats on day 2 of no cheating...one more to go and you will be over that hump!

                            Hey, everyone! Party - what a great topic! I love it! I am definitely more positive. Well, we all have our moments. But overall, I am a much happier person because I know I'm healthier. The exercise especially makes me feel stronger.

                            Sounds like a mixed bag of stuff going on today. Congratulations to the losers and to the cheat-free people! Every day is a new day - just keep remembering that!!! And also remember that some people will just always be a big pain in the WAZO! I have been discriminated against more than once because of my weight. It sucks and it hurts. But eventually, I win!!!
