    Good Morning Everyone.. I guess I am the thread starter this week..probably because I am so busy and I need to get my butt rolling...

    I was suppose to have a relaxing day yesterday and that didn't happen..

    I am heading to water aerobics this morning..I haven't been in 2 weeks. They are going to think I have died...lol I shouldn't go..I have too much to do..and I will have to rush home to get ready to be somewhere at Noon.

    My stepmom is here in town visiting and she said she was going to stop by and visit us one morning..but she never confirmed what morning... I should stay here in case she comes by today..

    BUT NO... I gotta take care of me..and that is so hard to do that when I am busy taking care of eveyrone else's needs.

    Why is it so hard to take care of ourselves? Especially us women..

Oh I have to tell you yesterday I followed my husband somewhere to take his truck to be worked on...well I was starving and we were going to stop at a little store that had food.. I am thinking..what in the world can I eat there.. I got a Corn dog and my husband picked the breading off for me.. it was enough to tied me over..lol

    Good morning, folks. I was totally exhausted yesterday after a fun-filled weekend and slept most of the day away. I did so-so over the weekend; there's definitely more work to be done so I can EASILY follow Atkins while camping. The big focus was improving my fishing skills. If I had to survive on my own catches, I'd starve. It was back to the basics and my brothers each taught me something that helped so much. It was so fun!

    Saw the endo yesterday but I was so tired and out of it, I struggled during the visit. The meds were increased as I expected so I'm looking forward to this week to see what changes take place amd if anything improves.

    LOTS to do today... Go get 'em, people!

      Good Morning, all my slimmin' homies!

      Sandy- It's is crazy how much we put ourselves off and don't even think about it once. I am going to a "spend the night girls night" on Friday. It will be the first time I have taken an evening for myself since I got pregnant in '04. I just always made an excuse as to why I couldn't attend something. It's a wonder they continued to invite me at all! But you should squeeze in your water aerobics for you. You would totally squeeze in something for DD if you could. I am proud of you for going!

      Terry, crossin' my fingers for you over the new meds, hun.

      Yesterday, I found myself falling back into the old habit of not writing things down when I ate. I ended the day with barely any vegetable consumption, not all that much meat consumtion and yet, all my dairy was used up. I did drink my water, but that's all we drink at the house barring, milk and juice for The Spawn. (I quit making tea over 2 years ago and we never were coke buyers.) But the slacking on my calories and food intake because of ketosis is what played a major part in my frustration of a stall and me jumping off the wagon so many times last year. So today, my goal is to eat atleast 12 net carbs in Veggies and pay attention to my cheese. Oh, and write it all down!

        Good morning. This is the first time I've done roll call, but I thought I should start just to remind me every morning that each day is a new day and all I have to do is make it through just one day. I'll worry about tomorrow tomorrow.

        I did just fine on my food intake yesterday. I drink lots of water at work and only eat what's in my lunch bag, which my husband makes for me. He doesn't work (disability retirement) so he makes dinner, which left overs become lunch for me the next day. He's pretty good about keeping the meals Atkins friendly. He was an undeniable blessing the last time I did Atkins and a major factor in my loosing 50 pounds. And he got rid of a small pot belly at the same time.

        I just want to report in. If I feel the need to do so, it will help me stay on track.

        8 days down and doing good.

          hi yall!

          off to gym, have a very busy day at work this morning and rounds start EARLY...must get running. do want to post that i have a 2 pound gain in the last 2 weeks...not sure if it is from exercising more or from eating more. have stayed under 20 carbs. have increased vegetable intake within that 20 carbs. i know muscle weighs more than fat, etc, but it just seems in some way counterintuitive to me to be gaining from exercise! it is frustrating.

            Yesterday I missed lunch and my snack. I was just busy. I was hurting by the time dinner rolled around. My walking was painful instead of easy because I did it while hungery. I did get the girls to leave me alone and let me walk by myself though. Today is shopping for the kids' school clothes. Not sure what I'll eat today, I hope like crazy we go after lunch!!! But whatever we do, I really want to come home and walk my mile, even with the kids tagging along. My knee hurt last night, but its better this morning. I ordered diet books, Somersizeing, for the recipes because I want my cheating family to eat better and I know there will be plenty of low carb recipes in there. Not planning any fruits or carbs for meself.
            Making time to do things for yourself is the hardest part. We do so much for others they think we live but to serve, hehe.



            My starting weight was 235 lbs and I'm trying to get to 130 lbs.

            1st mini goal: 145! met 12/09
            2nd mini goal: 140!
            3rd mini goal:135!
            4th mini goal: 130!

            I drink coffee. I drink when I am thirsty. I am just a low carber. Not on Atkins at all!!! He has everything to do with my weightloss and nothing to do with it, depending on who you ask.

              I work with kids, so its always easy to get carried away in the hectic nature of a day and forget to eat but I have my tuna right beside me and hopefully in between a corportate meeting and figuring out an advertising budget I can force myself to have some lunch!

                Good morning all. No weight loss here for a few days. Not drinking enough water either. We only have a tiny cube of a fridge at work, so I brought a ziplock bag of ice cubes. That should improve my water consumption today. I wish I had something interesting or helpful to add today, but it's just one of those days...

                    Hello All,

                    Welcome Bykerdruid. Hope to see you here often.

                    Sandy, the point you made about taking care of yourself is an important one. Sometimes putting your needs first is the best way to go about taking care of your family. I remember the first time around in this WOE when I found others needing me so much they expected me to skip a decent meal saying "I am allowed to feed myself so I am eating lunch now". At the time I found it funny to realize I had to rationalize eating a healthy meal.

                    Still not at the mini goal I keep having to push back. (darn scale) BUT, I feel SO MUCH BETTER!!!!! I KNOW I am getting smaller and healthier. And I KNOW I have control over what I eat. FINALLY.

                      I keep dreaming that I’m cheating…last night I enjoyed a brownie(in my dreams of course) don’t send the carb police after me!!!! Anyway, it was SOOO good. I really do miss brownies, but I know what they cause….At least we have the delicious DOM”S cheesecake to devour.



                      I think we should all make a goal this week to something for ourselves…put ourselves first. I know I don’t do that at all. I was just thinking about that this morning on my way into work. My life is so hectic, and I feel so overwhelmed…and if we do something for ourselves we are not to feel guilty that we are not focused on anything else. My goal is to go see Transformers……by myself……with no popcorn of course.

                        Sandy you have a great husband there, picking the corn dog coating off for you! Thanks for the reminder that as women we need to take care of ourselves. We need to keep ourselves healthy and strong so we can take care of the others who are depending on us.

                        Blaze....A brownie in your dreams LOL that is so funny but better in your dreams than in real life. (Did I just say that?). Let me know how Transformers is and have a great time at the movies.

                        Tack you will reach your mini goal just keep pushing ahead. You can do it!

                        I got my exercise in already today and now just have to work on the water bit which is always a challenge for me. I am more prone to pick up a diet coke. I am terribly addicted to it. I think I am using it to replace all the sugar and carbs I am not eating. I know the coke isn't good but I haven't reached the place where I can give it up.

                          Morning Everyone!

                          Well there is some serious housecleaning on the agenda for today. When I work outside in the yard the inside gets neglected and vice versa, since I'm only one person...sheesh....

                          Staying on track and going to do pop in The Lift Weights to Lose Weight dvd today, see how far I can get. Plus going to do the usual ab crunchers and now push ups.

                          Made a chocolate treat yesterday and ate most of it. (Can this point be used in the taking care of me department...hehehe...probably not huh) Not a good girl at all. All legal stuff in it, but way too good for me to even have in the house. Won't be doing that all too often...no self control when it comes to chocolate and coconut!

                          Everyone stay legal...big weigh and measure day for all the LDC group tomorrow...hope we all see a loss in one way or another.

                          P.S. Tack Candy...I noticed today in your siggie that we are both the exact same age (4, you started on April 30 and me on May 1, you started at the same weight as me (200lbs) and have the same goal weight as me (160) and you are nearly the same weight as me now. Well, anyway, I thought it was cool to have someone pretty close to exactly my double... . We could truly be in this together. Stop by my journal sometime!

                            Good morning everyone. I am really late in checking in today!

                            Anyway, I'm thinking I need to step up the exercise. I have an elliptical trainer and although I find it boring, I know I must do it. I have been doing crunches and weights but I have to do more. Does anyone have any recommendations, specifically for the stomach. I have PCOS and I always appear quite bloated, although it has gone down considerably.

                              Morning all!
                              Just want to say thank you again for all your support yesterday... my discouragement was replaced by happiness when the whoosh fairy blessed me this morning with a 3 lb loss... Yeah!!!!
                              It's so easy to focus on the scale...especially with TOM around... belly bloat... hormanal imbalance... etc... begin to question yourself...'am I crazy? I thought I'd been soooo good? ' course, I am crazy... one doesn't cancel out the other. lol!
                              Anyway, just got up... will be off for a walk here in a minute... gotta do my hair color today and clean house, sew, cook some kind of italian dinner casserole...
                              Sandy: good girl! you keep taking care of Sandy! You'll have much more to give if you do.
