    Good morning, STACers.

No great pearls of wisdom from me. Only to encourage each of you to strive for your best today in all that you do, including for your health. Even if today is your day of rest; relax, have fun, and allow your body to recover.

    Wishing all a wonderful Sunday!

    Re: Sunday Morning Roll Call

Morning STAC, I slept in. Today is a control day. I am spending time going over my food, my training and my short term goals for the next 5 weeks as I prepare for the triathalon...It has changed alot of things for me, and I need to be very focused. Ya'll know I am a firm believer in new goals and adventures...
I learned so much while my mother was dying, about setting up for the future. I learned to plan today for tomorrow...I registered for a race in March that would not be run until July. When May and June came and I was grieving the loss of my Mom, I made myself run a little bit each day to stay in shape for the race...
It was a wise choice! I did it based on "feels of wanting to keep moving" not "feelings of wanting to quit and just cry and grieve"....I am setting my next year up like that too. I have a fall goal, Winter goal, and now an early summer goal. Training, exercising, working with foods...It all will keep me here this next year....living low carb!

Good morning everyone! Well, I did it. Last night I finally walked again (3mi) and like you all said, it felt really good. We also went to an art walk or art fest and walked around a lot outside. I think today after church we're going to a sort of nature center and that will require a lot of walking too. Unfortunately, dh has lost his commitment to this woe, but I have no intention of stopping!!

Have great Sunday. Make the most of it before the daily grind tomorrow.

        Good morning everyone,

TMN, I will strive for my best today. Going to the beach after church and plan on taking a very long walk on the shore. I'm excited.

Jess, I can wait to obtain your attitude for life....you are like my own daily journal, I actually look forward to your motivational talks every morning, so I'm glad you get up before me.

Sheepie, glad to see you did your 3 mi walk, good for you. Sometimes it's hard to get motivated to work out. After you work out, it is such a good feeling of accomplishment and that high you get is worth it's weigt in gold.

Hope everyone has a blessed Sunday without any struggles with this WOE.

        Hugs, Michelle.

Thanks Blazing, I tend to just write down what I am already saying to myself....I talk to myself, and I talk myself into alot of things....I also talk myself out of a lot of things. I am somewhat of a motivational speaker for a living...I work with kids, and I am always speaking and pointing them in a positive productive direction, and I guess it all starts bright and early each morning with myself...YOu can't give away what you don't have!

            Re: Sunday Morning Roll Call

            Good Morning,

Today I am focusing and planning on the future, but not just in thought but in actions. I blew it yesterday and ate what I should not have which showed me my planning has not been so great. Looking back I think I have been haphazard in following the plan. I never tracked my carb intake or bothered to see how many carbs the food I was eating had. A friend told me to go back over something in the Atkins book and re-read it. I know that I have to embrace this plan fully if I want it to work. Half-hearted attempts and half-measures don't work for me. I have learned that over the last three weeks.

So my new goal is to look more closely at my food choices every day. Pay attention to "triggers" that make me want to go off course and empower myself with knowledge so I can make those better choices.

Hope you all have a great day! Thanks for the motivation today Jess. Have fun at the beach Blaze, I am truely jealous! Tmn, you have a great day too.

To all who come after me today sorry I missed you. Have a wonderful Sunday.

              Re: Sunday Morning Roll Call

              Morning Everyone!

Well said as usual Jess! "You can't give away what you don't have". Applies to so many different things in our lives.

Blazin....have a great walk on the beach...ohhhhhh how I wish I was joining you. I miss Florida . No beautiful beaches here, but going to be hotter than blazes today! (no pun intended

Sheepie....excellent getting your walking in. I too have not been very motivated to exercise but I did lots of it yesterday and felt so much better. Just have to keep that thought in your mind, how you will feel AFTER. Too bad about hubbie not sticking to this WOE...but us women always knew we were stronger . He may get envious of you and jump back on the wagon.

TMN....I am going to try to strive for my best everyday. Its all about health for me which is a gift you have to give yourself. We have been given these amazing bodies which we sometimes tend to abuse. Its really mind blowing when you think about how every part of our body works together in order to sustain life. The least we can do is take care of what we have been given and I've decided to take good care of my gift, inside and out.

              Have a great Sunday everyone!

                Re: Sunday Morning Roll Call

Such well said motivations, everyone. I can just fill up my gas tank with a few of these posts and I'm off!!! Lots cheaper than $3 a gallon.

Well, I ran my 5K last night. It was over 1 bridge and back on the other bridge. Ok, so when I'm going over the first bridge I look over and see all of the runners already on the other bridge. Always room for improvement.!! hee hee

So my lesson from my experience. A 5k is like 3.2 miles or something like that. I only walked for about 4 minutes up the huge slope of one of the bridges. During the run, my mind was like "what are you doing? Buffy, do you really think you can run 26.2 for a marathon?" Then, good Buffy starts going, "shut up bad Buffy! I can do anything I want to and I'm going to do this and do it well"

So, as I apply that to this WOE and the self talk there is a huge correlation. It is like Jess says, planning. By planning to live a certain way it helps keep my mind in the Good Buffy mode.

It's not about the food or the running, it's about the mind and making choices and living inside of yourself peacefully.

                Enough from me today.

OBTW, I ran it in 42 minutes.

                happy day all!

Terry great post to start us off on!!!

GREAT JOB BUFFY, I could never do that. I went for a couple of 1 mile walks with my daughter and now I am sick. I was thinking that maybe this year my allergies would not happen, LOL. oh well , nothing ventured nothing gained. So indoor exercising for me from now on. I know thats what its from because I have not had any sinus trouble for a while.
Anyways the scale is being good to me. Probably from the little bit of exercise so far, so.... I will keep it up.

                      Good Morning Everyone!
Scale said I'm down another lb! whoo hoo!
Great Job on the run Buffy! 42 minutes is awesome! That must have been really fun. Nothing big planned for today, just church, tuna melts on tomatoes, little yard work and either a walk or a bike ride. Everyone sounds so motivated and Jess, great message re: planning... so important! Gonna work on the reunion plans as well. I have a 'cousin phone call' every Sunday that is fun... it's like a group phone call (we can only do 6 lines) but it's fun and a little crazy... oftain hilarious. Hope you all have a great day!
