  • The Netherlands

It has been so long since I posted, I wonder if anyone here at STAC remembers me...

I am Shannon and my husband has just been transferred from Florida to The Netherlands. I quit doing atkins a couple of months ago because of the move and of course, you can imagine what the scale has been doing ever since.

I am going to come back to atkins, but I want to wait so I can be totally prepared. I want this to be for a lifetime. No more cheats, etc.

Anyone have experience with Europe/atkins, especially in The Netherlands? I love the cheeses here. That is a huge plus. Also, the olives are amazing. However, I can't speak Dutch or read it in menu's so that is a particular challenge. Yes, I am taking lessons and learning quickly.

Good to see everyone, some new faces, and many of the old gang!!

It is good to be back - not to the diet just yet - but definitely nosing back around...

        Re: The Netherlands

hi Shannon - what part of Nederland are you in??? I was raised in Holland for the beginning of my life and all of my mother's family is still there (that's where mom is from).... I have family all over the country. Ahhhhh, I miss it!!!!
And Frikandellan! hahahahaha Not sure they'd be atkins friendly though.. hmmm... interesting to think about. Then again, they just might be! Oh how I'd die to have a diet of nothing but those darn things....

I haven't been back overseas in a few years,.... you're so lucky!

What is Frikandellen?? I must know! Like I said, we just got here a month ago. I know what a panekeokken (sp?) is now!

We live in Wassenaar. My dh works in Den Haag. It is such a nice little town. Den Haag is awesome! What a beautiful country. The weather right now is like a hurricane blowing through. They say to me that it is not like a typical summer.

I am from Orlando, this is definitely now a typical summer!!!
