    Good Afternoon, Everyone

    I love, love, love your post this morning, Jess! I agree with every word. My weight loss has slowed to a pound a week, probably because I eat consistently at 45 net carbs per day and that is close to my CCLL. I could probably increase the rate of loss by dropping carbs, but I am so enjoying the variety of food I can eat that it makes me realize that I can do this for a lifetime. I think a pound a week is a great victory. This isn't a race for me... it is the way that I eat now. I feel so confident and in control. It's taken me a long time to get from where I was in my Before pic below to where I am now, but I know that I will get to goal in time.

      Cool post, Jess.

      I totally missed that part about the date...I just looked for "Friday". LOL...makes me think Jess was on to something.


      Not much going on in my life as a rerererererestarter....other than my girls are hosting a slumber party tonight and my house will be full of preteen girls and I'll be hiding while they play twister and while I'm hiding I'll be reading about starting the Couch 2 5k running program.

      Mitzimarie...your transformation pictures are just awesome and a testimony of taking time to do things right and on purpose with Atkins. Woo hoo!

        I have been thinking about posting about "time" for awhile myself. Thanks for bringing it in the forefront with your post today. I am 1/2 way to goal and there have been times that I wanted to mathematically predict when I will be at goal. I want to say that it took me 3 months to get half way there so in turn it should only take 3 months to lost the rest. The rational me says that I shouldn't put a timeline on my weight loss. How many times have I read on this board "weight loss is not linear". Pondering this makes me realize that the next half to goal will not necessarily go that quickly...and probably won't. But that is OK. This is a lifestyle change and I need the time to make it STICK. This half very well may be harder and test my resolve even more. The last time I went through Atkins successfully I didn't reach goal and slid back into old habits. I agree that the more time we spend learning this WOE the more likely we will be able to adopt it as our lifeSTYLE.

          3 cheers for Jess! We sooo need to relax and enjoy the process! This is a lifestyle change that is for sure! Weight loss is only secondary to the healthy WOL... as our wt gain was secondary to our previously unhealthy WOL... It does feel so good to have these habits now that would be seriously hard to break now... It feels good to make good choices for a change and for it to be more natural than it was in the beginning... I think too that the more time we invest in this, the better quality our time here on earth will be, who wants time with diabetes or a stroke or a heart attack... healthy time is so much better spent... I think of my mother in law... she's so healthy in her 70's golfing several times per week, going to the gym, dancing, etc... that's how I want to spend my old age! lol!

            I, too, am impatient for the weight to come off. However, at the same time, I'm willing to take however long it does take to make this a permanent lifestyle. I start OWL Monday, took me a while to get the courage to move on up, but I'm ready now. I have about 30 pounds to go, I've lost over 50 so far. This should give me plenty of time to go through all the rungs and make this a true way of life. I'm hoping to be at maintenance by my birthday, March 31st. If it comes earlier, wow, will I be happy! If not, it will be fine. I feel and look so much better now that I don't mind if my weight loss slows down some. The exercise has been a major new addition. It makes so much difference in so many ways. I feel stronger and have more energy.

                Here's what is very very strange, I did not put a date in the Thread Title...someone added the July 13th....NOT ME!!!!
                Glad the message on time resonated so strongly amoung my peers.....We do need to relax and make this a lifestyle, and what's the hurry, it doesn't end, if you truly think about it...Just live hard and well for the day! Just for today....eat, drink, exercise right....take a walk tonight after dinner, after a hard week, sit outside if it's nice out....Exercise and you will be so empowered!!!!!
