  • Saturday roll call, Wake Up!

    Hey wake up STACers 7:20 and I'm still the only one up and rolling...
    Been here twice, and over in journals along time. Well I guess I'll just start the thread for the day! It's gonna be a great day. I am up and out the door with activity this morning. Working out, then tennis lessons and then a swim...
    I have a huge weekend of training ahead of me, as I continue to prepare for this triathalon...I keep working with the concept that more is not always better....Balance is better when training...and only occasional moments where you train BIG...but most of the time it's in daily doses....and rest, so your body can recover...
    They've made such advances and if I'll only follow them...work hard, then rest and recover...then work small, then medium and then BIG.

    Ya'll dont know me very well, I am notorious for going BIG and then BURNING OUT...But I think I've crushed that one in my life, because next week, it will be a year that I've been here...and I'm not burned out at all.
    I am thriving. Living a balanced life with food, water and exercise...

    You do want to be here in a year. It is an amazing feat to be here in a year...YOu do want to be low carb living in a year...what's your other option? Truthfully if you are not in lipolosis, you are in glucosis...you are either burning your fat or storing your fat...You are either in control of your carbs or they are in control of you!

    Just a thought...NO burn out here, balanced living here....ok I am working on it.

    I just love the way Jess wakes us all up in the morning. I plan on being here in a year, and in 5 years....10 years....forever.

    My girls are going to a pure princess conference at church today, to learn to be "pure" I guess....i'll find out more when they get back.

    I'm very tired this morning, didn't get much sleep and haven't exercized in 2 days, so i'm upset with myself for failing in the dept. So off i go do double duty on the bike and burn burn burn.....

      I'm here. Man, a really busy week for me last week. It became self evident to me that I need to develop my planning skills better. I had to train someone all week, which meant that I really couldn't bring my "foods" etc with me.

      We were in the car a lot (I'm a sales rep). Anyway, I know what I need to do next time. I'm just a work in process. Learning how to take care of me so that I can be here in a year. Never give up. Never quit. And never feel like I have to be perfect every friggin minute of the day!

      I'm in for a year!

      Today, is a cook day. I bought tons of food to prepare in serving sizes and freeze so that i can just grab something out of the freezer and rock. Tons of Chicken breast in the crockpot to shred and put into the freezer, pork chops, ground beef and egg cupcakes.

      I'm planning on my success next week!

        Good morning, people!

        Although I haven't been working out or as true to Atkins as I should be, I still had a very good week. Some major priorities have finally been taken care of. Sure gets those ugly monkeys off your back!

        Also, I have started feeling REALLY good this week! The new medicines must be close to where they should be in dosage. The body may be shaking off the effects of two surgeries. I'm anticipating what I will feel like in another month! So many things are improving hand over fist.

        So I'm starting to look ahead and plan on what I can do over the fall and winter. I did look at a stationary bike yesterday but just can't bring myself to buying it until I have a job. I want it for my health but it's a no-brainer...You don't spend money you don't have. I'll tell you all what, though - the instant I hear those words, "You're hired," that bike is coming home! LOL!!

        Blazing - sounds like something that'll teach your daughters about making good choices. Choices that'll protect them from so much heartache and pain later... Hope you'll share more when you hear what it is.

        Buffy - you're just funny with the hugs and kisses... LOL XOXOXOX!

        Jess - I think you stated recently that you're a motivational speaker. (Am I right?) You must be a darn good one - everytime I read your posts, I work towards improving a little something. Two steps forwards, one step back, another step forward because of something you said... WIP is right. That's so many of us - and you're helping each of us get there... XOXOXOXOX!!!

          Well, today is 4 months for me...I am VERY VERY proud of myself! I just need to start exercising more and hopefully the weight will start coming off a little quicker...

          I went to a get together last night at a friends house and they were all SHOCKED that I am still "dieting". Everyone was eating all kinds of goodies, and I just stuck with what was legal for me. I felt so good about that. It was AUTOMATIC. I didn't get up to look at the dessert table. Go me!!

          My goal for the next month is to exercise and drink more water. I want to see the 140's!!!!!

            jess, thanks for the great post! i agree, you are super motivating and always get me back on track.

            i am curious about this pure princess thing as well, keep us posted, blazin!

            i had a very long week and have not exercised at all. this weekend my goal is to, like buffy, COOK so i have food available, and exercise. it is a beautiful morning and i hope on sunday night i will have achieved those goals!

              Morning, *yawn* not going to get on the scale for a week. I am really looking forward to the 140s , my scale does not budge often, so I joined the 6 week exercise challenge. It starts this Sunday , it helped the scale to move a bit the last time I did it. gotta get some housework caught up its that wonderful dog shedding time of year. Have a GREAT weekend.

                Good morning! I'm going into my forth year and have kept off 100 plus pounds for 2 1/2 years, I'm in it for life! Always room for improvment though. Plan, plan, plan is the best to go with this woe and wol. I'm thankful to be healthy and to be alive. Wishing all of you a safe and legal weekend!

                    been up since 830 but work has called and thats where I am! Bleh! But thanks for the motivation Jess! Im going to the gym after work! Promise! Lost another 5 pounds this week! YEAH BABY!

                      Hi all. I was up early, but had work to do at chuch. Dh does pottery and is at a raku workshop today, so I'll take the kids over later to watch some of the firing. I may have mentioned a couple weeks ago that our dog died, and now this job opportunity in Florida didn't work out, so dh has been pretty bummed. I'm hoping he has a lot of fun today because he does so much better with Atkins when he's happy. And if he's being good, it's easier for me to be good too!!

                        Morning everyone!
                        Great motivational speech Jess! Didn't know you could ever burn out!
                        Buffy: great ideas on the cooking... I like the egg muffin idea!
                        Michelle: That sounds like a very cool thing your girls are doing... they always listen to other people besides mom so much better...
                        Last night I danced myself silly at a little concert that was held at our little community center... a band called Rockola played... it was soooo fun! our whole family went and we had a picnic dinner on the grass with another family.. anyways it felt good to be 'myself' again...really noticed my endurance is sooo much better. and fitting into my cute smaller clothes again feels wonderful! Makes me so much less self conscious!
                        But then was up half the night again with muscle/joint pain in my hip!!! I have been having that lately... think it's from not stretching and overuse of certain muscles used on bike... planning to do my back exersizes and work out different muscles to relax the ones I've overused...
                        Anywho... have a great Saturday... am planning on cleaning the house to get ready for DH birthday party dinner tomorrow... later we're going to another outdoor theatre and doing the picnic dinner thing again... just me and my DH... so that'll be nice.

                          Good afternoon everyone, got up early cause I have a houseful this week-end. Too busy to get in here, so hello to all who follow me or come in late also!

                          Each of my kids have guests staying over. I fixed a good breakfast for all, eggs, bacon, sausage, blueberry pancakes (for them) blueberries/strawberries with cream cheese for me, and they got the toast.

                          Going to go look at a bike for myself in a few hours, after I do some house cleaning. I don't know if I can even afford it yet. I may end up at wal-mart, they seem to be pretty reasonable there.

                          Sorry Sheepie about your dog, and the job. Try to stay strong, I know it's difficult during times like these.

                            Have you considered looking for a used one? Sometimes people buy them, never use them exept to hang clothes on and then get rid of them and they're still perfect! You should check out the for sale ads in the paper...! Anyways, it's worth a shot... sometimes a lot of hassle but could be worth it if you can save a lot of $$$$

                              I woke up at 4 am and went to work... Had to drive 200 miles to Waco TX and then back to do some computer downloads off some trucks, took some chicken breast chunks and some green beans.. green beans in a hot care really don't do too well BTW.
