  • I need a new wagon

Here we go again. I lost 25 lbs for my wedding that was on June 16th. Since then I have fallen off the wagon and for the last month and a half been chopping it into little pieces.

Starting fresh again today. No goal weight as of yet but I do have a non numerical goal. My wife and I are going to Disney World in November and my goal is to be able to fit in the rides. I am currently 5'9" and 375 lbs. i figure if I can drop 75-100 lbs I will be good to go. hopefully i have enough time to do that. Wish me luck.

Welcome and good luck, but I have a warning for you. I've heard over and over that when you lose weight for a particular event, you're very likely to gain it back after the event. It would be better if you had a longer term goal that was just for yourself. Give yourself a reason to stay on this way of eating at Disney and beyond and then you'll increase your odds of really keeping the weight off! Lowcarb food for thought. LOL!
    Welcome!

      Hi Brian,

Welcome to the board. Sheepie is right, but I think once you start feeling the benefits of this WOL you will realize it is worth making a lifetime choice. Stay in tune with your body and the follow the plan. If you cruise around this board I think you will find that there is much more to get out of this than just losing weight for a special event. Alot of us have realized that reaching a certain goal is only a by product of this way of eating. Visit the Second Time Around Club often and I think you will see people who have learned that it is more than acheiving goal weight.

You are gonna feel SO GOOD!

Keep us posted with your successes. (and we'll help you if you stumble too) We are rooting for you!

        Miata -

I'm pulling along this rather battered, dented, and slightly peeling wagon. There's plenty of room for you to share it if you want!

Basically, it runs most smoothly if I never let it go uphill. Uphill would be that horrible mindset where you think about how far you have to go before you reach your destination.

I keep it in downhill mode: I've finally gotten my act together again, the fridge and pantry are stocked with what foods work, and there's no more obsessing and feeling ashamed that I haven't stuck with it before. Me and my wagon are going to have a fine ride!

        205 - met 10/17/07

        180

        I survived a two-month stall!
