  • Saturday morning roll call

This is a THANK YOU roll call...and my first roll call.

So I am here this morning to say thank you to EVERYONE who is so supportive in this site. Some of you give a lot of time, money and energy to keep this going. I truly would have bailed about a month ago had it not been for fantastic friends like you.

I would make a list of names, but I know I'd leave someone out, so I wont.

I woke up this morning and after 3 /12 weeks of a stall and up a pound, I finally lost the pound I was up and another one to boot. So that puts me at 154 and I'm so happy, that I wanted to jump up and down and I coudn't cuz dh is sleeping....so i'll do that as soon as he wakes up.

I'm adhering to all advise given to me on planning, joining challenges, staying focused, being patient, making goals, reading the book, staying in touch with other members, eating my veggies, taking my vitamins, drinking my water, encouraging others, and believing in the new me.

    Re: Saturday morning roll call

    Good morning,

Adena's success in reaching Onederland yesterday has me motivated. And I'm continually considering how Jess stuck to it through the past year. There was also a thread recently about "little cheats". I have to agree with some others: one little cheat leads to another to another until it's totally out of control. No more little cheats for me...

I made a different salad for the weekend: cooked cauliflower, cucumber, celery, thinned mayo, vinegar, tuna, shredded cheddar cheese, S&P. May still boil up some eggs and add that to it, too. A little onion would be good, too. It isn't bad, kind of a combination tuna "macaroni" salad and faux potato salad, taking care of my summer cravings for both.

Insomnia again last night - mind is totally wound up about the potential job. So I'll be dragging a bit today. Have a great day, folks.

What a great start today, Blazin!!!!

Good for you for sticking to it.

I ran a mile this morning and I did it at 12:46. When I first started in aprilish, I was still walking and I was doing a 17 min mile pace. I'm so glad that I've stuck with this. My scale is not moving, but, my inches are so totally moving. A lady this morning came up to me and asked me how much weight I'd lost with the Marathon program and I said well, not much. She couldn't believe that I hadn't lost oodles and oodles of weight.

well, the inches and the way I feel counts.

I can relate to Blazin! I'm so thankful for the support on this board!!

        Have a great Sat

good morning everyone...way to go buffy! i'm sure that running is looking good on you! i have been thinking about clarity...and how much of it this program allows me. having to plan and think about my food keeps me in the present moment. and i need that. food is such a comfort and an escape for me that i can easily turn to it without even thinking...happy saturday!

Good morning everyone! Another shout out to all the folks here at ADBB and especially STAC. I think we've all read somone's thoughts and wondered how they plucked them from our own heads. "Hey, that is so me!" I've said those words so many times in the last 8 months of reading the posts here. It's weird and encouraging all at the same time.

I love to hear that someone's scale FINALLY moved! My weight loss results are exactly the same. I drop a ridiculous amount of poundage and then nothing for what seems like forever (like now for instance, I've been stuck popping between 174 and 176 for the last 9 days). Several times this year I tried to get back on track and gave up when that happened. But for some reason I've found the strength and patience to endure the dreaded scale this time. And even though I haven't been measuring, I DO KNOW I've lost inches and everything is slowly tightening up.

Anyway, thanks to everyone for sharing their encouaging thoughts and successing, and yes, even the slips and crashes. Someone out there is reading it and it's exactly what they needed to hear that day.

You guys must all live east of me, because it's only 8 a.m here and y'all are up and going!

                  Good morning!

Gross piece of info: I woke up to the reminder that I need to start eating flax.............all that fat and veggies.........yikes!

Great piece of info: I woke up feeling FANTASTIC. Man, I love ketosis! I love waking up and feeling ready to go.

Neutral piece of info: Last night at about 8 I took a look at Fitday and realized I'd only consumed about 850 calories. I just was not hungry during the day.......whoops! I forgot that I need to eat a little sumpin every few hours. So now I need to incorporate that into my planning, since my body won't remind me. (Actually, that's a GOOD piece of info! My desire to snack has diminished.....)

I start couch to 5 k this morning. Pray for me................

And have a fabulous day, everyone!

Popping back in to say that I started measuring my waist a few weeks after starting Atkins, but only occasionally. I don't measure anything else. I'm down 7 inches!!! Now when I tie my drawstring pants I have two long strings hanging down! Yea!

                        Re: Saturday morning roll call

                        Good Morning Fellow STAC'ers

Blazin...I couldn't have said it better myself...ditto on it all. I must confess though the major reason I have stuck with this is for health reasons...I feel fantastic and I feel I got my life back when I incorporated low carb eating. I have been off and on so many "diets" in my life I can't even count them. The reasons I'm sticking with this lifestyle (not diet) is because it works for me and has eliminated my IBS symptoms...the weight lost is a wonderful bonus and why I started Atkins in the first place...(some of you have read this before about me...so I apologize for the repetitiveness). I'm free of IBS and nothing or nobody could turn me back to my old way of living. *Getting off soapbox*

TMN....the salad sounds good. Try and not think too much about the job issue, I know that is easier said than done but remember, not sleeping isn't going to change what will happen, so try and relax some and rest up...maybe a nap later.

BUFFY....way to go on the inches girlfriend! Pounds aren't everything as we all know. Its how we look and how we feel that counts. Besides when you go into a boutique and they ask you..."what size can I find for you"...you never say "ummm well I'm 185lbs soooooo..."...you say "I'm a size 12 (or whatever)"...inches make the difference..right?

                        Harmony....I agree...clear mind...clear body...this lifestyle works all ways.

Tomorrow....We are neighbors girl....I'm right next door in Saskatchewan! Good attitude you have...we must all have patience...its the key.

Party....music always makes any chore more fun. I have my Ipod on constantly when I'm working outside, inside my stereo is always blasting. It really affects ones mood!

Evermind....gotta love those muffins in a minute...flax, flax, flax...hehehe. Ketosis is a wonderful thing. Yikes...thats not enough calories girl...Fitday is a great tool. Oh and I'm prayin for you for the C25K...I've thought about trying it but haven't committed to it yet....the idea is rattling around in the old brain though.

Sheepie...Yayyyyyyyy for long strings! 7 inches is incredible. GREAT JOB!!!

Sorry for the long post but didn't want to leave anyone out. Have a great day everyone. I'm headin to the family room to do some stability ball exercising!!!
