  • TUESDAY Morning Roll Call

    Wow...where is everyone?

    I almost posted today in the Monday roll call then noticed it said Monday and went back to look for Tuesday a few times...shocked nobody has started it yet...so its me.

    Goooooooood Morning!

    Hope everyone slept well and is ready for a productive day!

    Well, I bit the bullet last night and joined the Beginner: Couch to 5 K Challenge. But, before I joined I went down and did Week 1 Day 1 on my treadmill to make sure I could actually do this challenge. So, I stretched then I walked briskly for 5 minutes then I alternated jogging for 60 seconds with walking for 90 seconds and I did that for 20 minutes.

    I couldn't believe I actually did it! I was shocked and pumped.

    So, my question is, what have you done that you never thought you could do since starting Atkins?

    Congrats, Sweet, on starting the Couch to 5k--wow! Good luck!

    What have I done since starting Atkins that I never thought I could do? That answer would be "starting Atkins" I fell into the trap of "I'm too stressed, I have too much to do, too many people to take care of to concentrate on me." I just finally got sick of feeling miserable and decided that the only way I could take care of my family the way I wanted to, was to take care of me, too! What a happier person (and mommy and wife) I have become. The best part is others are starting to notice too

        Geez, your right hardly anyone out today!

        Congrats, Sweet!! Way to get pumped.

        I guess what I have done that I did't think I could do is stay on track with a challenge. Exercising on a regular basis just seemed like such an ordeal. I am getting better at it.

          Good Morning Sweetstrudel, Bluegrassmama,Terry,Gem238 and all those I miss today. That is such a wonderful question Strudel! Where do I begin, there are so many things I do now that couldn't or wouldn't do before. The one thing that really stands out is the first year I was on atkins and lost 100 lbs in 10 months, it was summer and my lawn desperately needed mowed. I told myself I could do it. It had been years since I had done so. I went out,gassed up my push mower,fired it up and mowed my whole yard which takes a good hour and a half to do. I was so proud of myself. Three years later I continue to mow it. Wishing everyone a great Tuesday. Don't forget to get all your water in, chug-a-lug!

            I just woke up and feel heavy and sluggish. Today is a rest day for me in terms of exercise, which is probably a good thing. I can't account for any other reason why I might be this blah.

            So anyway...........got errands to run today, etc. etc. And I think I'm going to go join the gym again today.

            What have I been able to do since I started Atkins that I have never been able to do? Hmmmm. Eat healthy. Eat healthy consistently. Lose weight easily.

              Morning everyone!
              Woke up with a headache this am... busy night at work and up too late... feels like a hangover but it's not. Tried going back to sleep but couldn't so got up and weighed... it was going back and forth between a 1-2 lb loss.... yeah! What headache? Suddendly all is good in the world! lol!
              I am so thankful that I have such endurance now like I haven't had for a while! What I am able to do now? well, eat healthy without depending on carbs for my emotional or physical well being... (they were a big disappointment anyways) and stay on this WOE for 3 months now (as of yesterday) and be okay not losing a ton of weight every week... see the long term, big picture and be able to accept that this will take a while and that's okay as we're going for permanent wt loss not just a temporary diet!

                Hey Im here, been in and out today...Pretty tired myself....Hey everybody, congrates on all those seeking to achieve new things this August!!! How fantastic...it's what helps the most I think, having fun challenges to join on these boards!!!

                  Hi to everyone who enters late, and those already here. Where have all the STACers gone off to? Come on back everyone, we need y'all's support.

                  Great thread today Sweet! What can I do better since starting Atkins? Well, I can now walk 5 whole miles, and run a little too, tired but still ALIVE..lol! Never thought I could do that.
