    Let's hear it for Routines!! WOOHOO!!

    Routines are good! They help you get into good habits that can last a lifetime. You just have to put the effort into it!

    I officially start my routine August 27th!!

    That's right Terry, we all need a routine, and we need to stick to it. I believe by nature we are people of routine, we stray too much if we don't have routine.

    I was eating (stuffing myself) yesterday, when I realized that a long time ago, when I would stuff myself, I was delighted while eating, almost like being a bad little kid. Immediately after the delight was gone, a terrible twang of guilt would set in. Immediately after the guilt came anger, anger at myself. Then I would be so angry that I would go back to the food and stuff myself even more. I was self sabotaging my body over and over.



    Now, I can eat all day and stuff myself, and giggle in the end because I know I am going to lose weight, not gain it…..that’s such a wonderful feeling, it’s so wonderful to never have to feel guilt about eating again. It’s so wonderful to have the power to not self sabotage my body.

      Thanks! Checking in here is part of my morning routine. I am in a size 10 pants today but its a little snug, am holding water from the steroid shot I guess. going to increase my exercise and need to drink more water especially now that its hot hot hot in Texas!

        i am getting frustrated b/c not only have i not lost in over a month, i GAINED 2 lbs this week. doing nothing different, exercising, frustrated. but hanging in there! have a good one.

          Doing great here. Day 4. I am back up to 199 this am. I dont understand...UGH! I think it's the cheese. I'm gonna cut it out for the next ocuple of days. My arms and legs finally dont hurt anymore. Tues and Weds. i thought i was hit by a semi truck! LOL!

            Morning All

            Terry...I love routine. I'm definately a routine kinda girl. When I'm in a routine, life seems to run smoothly, BUT, if something messes up my routine then everything goes to heck! And really it seems lot of days, in the real world, something comes along to mess up the routine. So, we just have to go with that and carry on.

            Michelle....right on about the food. I no longer have a love affair with it.

            Speedy....yaaaaaaay for the size 10 pants! Good job girl!

            Party....maybe you are retaining water...or maybe building muscle....just keep doing what you are doing and it will all level out.

            iwillbethin....perhaps the same thing as Party...or it could be the cheese, good idea to cut it out and see if that makes a difference. Everyone is different so we don't know what our bodies really can tolerate or not.

              Morning everyone! I'm stuck fast at 175. Arg! I'm being patient though and waiting for that big whoosh I know is on it's way. Oh how hard it is to be patient....

              One good thing though, it made me finally measure myself. I know I should have done it from the start, but I just kept forgetting to. I'm not very happy with the numbers on the measuring tape (especially my mid section!), but at least I'll have something else to go by.

                Hi you crazy kids! Sounds like things are kickin'! I, for the first time in my adult life, am embracing the idea of a routine.

                  I dunno about that routine thing...........let's think about it.

                  If you have a routine, then you never, ever get the chance to frantically throw everything out of the fridge at 6:30 p.m. after a hard day's work, looking for something, ANYTHING legal to eat for dinner.

                  If you have a routine, then you don't get the fun of trying to exercise without socks because you forgot to put them in your gym bag.

                  If you have a routine, you can't spend an hour in the grocery store, randomly picking things up that you THINK are legal on Atkins, instead of 20 minutes with a plan.

                  If you have a routine, you never have that soul-strengthening fight for life over a craving for rocky road icecream. Sure, you can lose the fight, but that is what makes it so excitingly terrifying.

                  If you have a routine, you have to be in charge of your own life, responsible, and healthy. If you don't, why, it's a roller coaster with health benefits, like high cholesterol, insulin dependence.............

                    Hi everyone,
                    I have always resisted routine as well, until now...
                    although, by the nature of my job and the inconsistency of my schedule at work... I have had to learn to just do it irreguardless of the 'schedule'... that's really helped me alot...
                    Happy Thursday! I'm off to go see the doctor. about my hip... now that it's better! lol! oh well!

                          For me, routine = atkins success...because it is the (new) routine of drinking water, working out, planning my meals ahead or at the very least always having legal food ready to go so I don't give in to the non-legal. It is knowing that I am getting used to good habits that need to last a lifetime...not just a couple of weeks...Stay strong everyone and have a great Legal Day!

                            Routine!! Yup-- they're great. Too bad it took me several times of starting over again and again to realize it. But, alas I have figured it out. Let's hope I stick to the routine.

                              My new routine is this WOE. Works great for me and it is the one part of my life I feel in control of (finally). The rest of my day seems to follow the routine of this plan. NOT a bad thing at all!
